During our recent weekly program, “End Time Revelation” with Dr. Sondra O’Neale ‘N Company, held each Wednesday at 7: 30 p.m. on internet radio/TV at Worship Detroit.com, we returned to chapters four and five of Apostle John’s Great Prophecy in the Book of Revelation. Those two chapters cover the seven years during which believers—from the age of Noah forward—will be judged on what they have done for God during their lives on earth. So those alive today who assume they will have such great rewards on that judgment day should compare their accomplishments to those of say Noah, Moses, Joshua, Abraham, Isaiah, etc. and the Great Apostles and disciples of The New Testament.
As Apostle Paul explains in 1 Thessalonians 5: 13 – 17: “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
And those saints, plus all who went after them who now lay in graves shall come out of those burial places in body, soul and spirit first, and then we who are alive will be taken up the same way to meet The LORD Jesus in the clouds on, as some saints use to sing, “that great getting’ up morning.”
But you may ask, how can we be judged compared to those mighty saints? How can we do such great things in our day? Surely Our Savior, Who is always more than fair to us, may base it on us doing all that we can do in our own generation. Are our feats for God up to the Gold—based on the very best? Are we doing what He has called us to do? Or are we doing just what we want to do? Those among us doing the latter should not expect much reward. As Apostle Paul puts it in 1 Corinthians 3: 11 – 15:
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
In addition to these judgments, rewards and great losses, all believers will get reassignments for our places in the great army that will return to earth to face the armies of Satan, the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet and the billions of people on earth who took the Mark of the Beast in pledges to serve Satan unto the death.
Included in the notes in Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible, are seven areas about which Finis Dake summaries that Chistians will be judged. But I have several other categories I have taken from wholesale Christian Bibles to add to that list. But to get all of those you should catch our next bod cast or read our next blog. Until then, God bless!
