Part V, Chapter 20, Satan and his hosts are finally expelled down to hell in order to usher in The Thousand Year Reign of Christ Jesus, thwherein He and His saints will rule over the affairs of men and nations. People, now free of sickness and disease will live for hundreds of years, as long as they obey God’s laws, as enforced by Christ and His Church. At the end of that period, Satan will have a short period to return so he can start a rebellion with those who have chafed against constant submission to God’s will. After that rebellion is put down, The LORD Jesus and His Church will hold final judgments over all fallen men, evil angels and demons, announcing sentences according to appropriate crime levels in hell’s caverns. (See Matthew 13: 41, 49; 1 Corinthians 6: 3: “Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?”).
Part VI, Chapter 21, gives detailed description of ‘The Eternal New Heaven and New Earth,’ because God The Father will move His new headquarters—i.e. His ruling throne—down to earth: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (verses 1 – 4).” In other words, those people who survived the horrors of the seven year Tribulation, and who will then live in new supernaturally transformed bodies during The Thousand Year reign, during which they joyfully accept the rules and laws of The LORD Jesus and faithful army who will rule with Him during those centuries—will still be alive. That group of people will live eternally on earth, maintaining homes and serving God, The Father, and God, The Son as they will.
This chapter describes in detail the beauty of this great city, New Jerusalem, having twelve gates each made of one solid pearl, and high walls adorned with all types of pearls and precious stones. Both God The Father and God The Son rule on their thrones in The Temple of this New Jerusalem, with rulers and peoples of the earth coming often to worship Them: “And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it (verse 24).”
In addition, both of these last two chapters give warnings to all people to avoid the judgments coming to those who will not be part of this New Heaven and New Earth, because they refuse to worship The LORD God and His Son Jesus: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” John continues, “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife (verses 8 and 9).” Another verse adds: “And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but [only] they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life (verse 27).”
Part VII, Chapter 22, gives more description of God’s Temple, Throne, and This New Jerusalem—from which God will rule earth and the universe, as well as the final status of all true believers—“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city (22: 12 – 14).”
Please note that here (as in all of John’s letters giving God’s instructions), The LORD Jesus refers to His words as commandments, not suggestions which believers may choose not to follows. In other words, those wanting to eat of that tree of life, (of which Adam and Eve had the first rights to eat), must obey God’s instructions, not do what they want and then expect to be rewarded by “grace.”
This Chapter also gives the final status of all unsaved human beings: “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie (22: 15).” It is this last section about loving and making a lie into which so many people, especially some who claim to be Christian believers, fall today. There is little difference between an idolater in India who worships cows, a peasant in China who puts the Communist flag and its party above all that is valued in life, or the person in the United States, the rest of the Americas, or Europe who loves and adores the things of this world while claiming to be a Christian. Sorcerers are witches, students and scholars for Satan and of all things evil; while idolaters are those which worship entities other than Almighty God, whether ideologies, spiritual idols and/or other material objects. The term for ‘dogs’ in this New Testament Greek language does not refer to non-human animals, but to those people who prefer (i.e. agree to and/or support) homosexual life styles.
Finally, the end of the last section (verses 14 to 22) of this chapter and of This Book (which this blog refers to as wholesale Christian Bibles), gives a final message to all categories of people: A) True believers who accepted The LORD Jesus Christ as Savior and who grew up spiritually in Him (verse 14); B) Those acclaiming themselves to be Biblical scholars who add to or take away from The Book of Revelation (verse 15); and C) A final message to all mankind: “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”
Further, The LORD adds: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen (verses 16 to 21).”
In closing, take care to study the word for yourself. You can find more research of these discussions by visiting our store. And please make sure that you are among those sending up prayers to fill those vials, prayers, which the elders collect in heaven. Remember, Apostle James promises: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (5: 16).”
