Preparing for War? Space ‘Science,’ Space Flight or Space Hooey?

curiosity-lands-on-mars    Even in a so-called democracy, American people have no say-so over how politicians allocate tons of billions of tax-payer dollars on space exploration. Major media just excitedly announces that one ‘stupendous’ space achievement or another is done.  Whether or not they expect the populous to care: leaders won’t admit.

For instance, how many billions of dollars did it cost to send NASA’s Curiosity Mars Rover to Mars last August.  marsdaily.com headlines: ‘Curiosity Finds Clues to How Water Helped Shape Mars.’ The article ‘explains’:

“Observations by NASA’s Curiosity Rover indicate Mars’ Mount Sharp was built by sediments deposited in a large lake bed over tens of millions of years. This interpretation of Curiosity’s finds in Gale Crater suggests ancient Mars maintained a climate that could have produced long-lasting lakes at many locations on the Red Planet. If our hypothesis for Mount Sharp holds up, it challenges the notion that warm and wet conditions were transient, local, or only underground on Mars.”

Since these same scientific types can’t explain hundreds of exploding volcanoes under this earth’s oceans, or do anything to stop the thousands of animal species now falling into extinction, or create gadgets that would employ needy out-of-work Americans, why is it important that they understand a lake bed on a planet created tens of millions of years ago––one upon which they will never live?

“We are making headway in solving the mystery of Mount Sharp,” said Curiosity Project Scientist John Grotzinger of the California Institute of Technology. “Where there’s now a mountain, there may have once been a series of lakes.” Since Dr. Grotzinger’s salary probably ranges one or two hundred thousand a year, can he please posit how such information helps average Americans, or what return it provides for their tax dollars?

Also, Ed Payne and Ralph Ellis of CNN write about another space ‘miracle’: the internationally-funded Philae space probe made a bouncy landing on a comet some 310 million miles from earth. The celebrating scientists called the landing an ‘engineering miracle.’ But why hasn’t such ‘scientific’ thinking produced cars capable of driving thousands of miles on water, or livable houses for even the poorest of families, keeping them safe from robberies or crashing planes.

Such a waste of talent, time and resources will surely one day be judged. One, ten, dozens or thousands of men will rr0305b-lgnever understand the universe.  God alone created it. And He alone keeps it together. His mind is omniscient. Even multiplying groups of mortal men cannot fathom the depths of His thinking.

Moreover, ‘all the king’s horses and all the king’s men’ in this post-modern age can never do what those who submit themselves to God’s way and to His Spirit can do––even in outer space.  Take Joshua for instance:  wholesale Christian Bibles explain that he made both the sun and moon stand still so he could win a battle:

“Then spake Joshua to The LORD in the day when The LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.  And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day (Joshua 10: 12-13).”

Now that’s power.  God’s power.  And it didn’t take 500 PhDs and gazillions of wasted dollars.  It just took one man who had faith in the promises of God’s Holy Word.  Such men and women are most sorely needed in these last days!
