China’s Pig, Chicken, Duck and Human Pandemic Coming to the U.S.?

H7N9-Strand-Bird-Flu    Last summer brought dreadful epidemics to our country, including those from Global Warming’s hot weather bringing hordes of poisonous insects, as well as from man-made negligence shared by government and private organizations.

Now public and private researchers and the World Health Organization work to prevent pandemics this summer.  But unless the nation makes drastic changes in seasonal practices of farm fairs, insect eradication, and government oversight, it is doubtful that U.S. science––not to mention illegal pharmaceutical and other profit-making enterprises––can withstand coming disasters this summer.

As of today, 24 people in China are extremely ill, with seven of them expired, from a new disease labeled the H7N9 bird flu virus.  And those are patient statistics the Chinese government admits.  God knows how many others there are!

In ‘China’s Bird Flu Death Toll Rises As WHO May Send Team,’ Associated Press (AP) quotes Liang Wannian, Director of the Chinese health agency’s H7N9 flu prevention and control office:  “There could be additional infections, both among animals and humans, in other regions and authorities.  [We] have stepped up measures to monitor cases of pneumonia with unexplained causes.”

The Chinese government has shut down the sale of live poultry in public markets, and have already slaughtered thousands of chickens.  Another AP story, ‘Bird Flu 101: How Bad Is the New H7N9 Strain?,’ reports that this virus does not sicken birds and thus spreads easily between them, but it can spread to humans.  So far, apparently there is no china-confirms-sixth-death-new-bird-flu-virus-authorities-resorted-mass-culling-poutry-after-virus (2)evidence of human to human transmission.

Reuters News Service writes that the White House is monitoring this disease’s development in China, and that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has already started work on a vaccine.  But it could take up to six months before mass production begins.

However, deadly diseases, germs, virus, and other infections, as well as air and water pollution, is rife in China.  As Laurie Garrett reports in ‘Is This A Pandemic Being Born?,’ for Foreign Policy Magazine:  “China’s mysterious pig, duck, and people deaths could be connected. And that should worry us.”

She further explains:  “Children playing along an urban river bank [would] spot hundreds of grotesque, bloated pig carcasses bobbing downstream. Hundreds of miles away, angry citizens [would] protest the rising stench from piles of dead ducks and swans, their rotting bodies collecting by the thousands along river banks. . . And while the world was left to wonder how the pigs, ducks, swans, and people might be connected, the World Health Organization [would] release deliberately terse statements, offering little insight.”

China wants to continue its trading relationship with the U.S., but at what price to the health of our nation?  Christian believers must exercise faith in verses put on plus size Christian t-shirts:  “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10: 19).”
