Wild Gunmen Still Resist––LaPierre: Everybody Else’s Fault ! Part 4

With each of the twenty Sandy Hook babies plummeted with bullet barrages from NRA’s sponsored A-15 military semi-automatic rifle, Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association, blamed the carnage on everyone else but NRA’s push for unlimited gun ownership.

‘It’s the Media’s Fault’––David Taintor of Talking Points Memo.com writes:  “Wayne LaPierre accused the media of “rewarding” mass killers with ‘wall-to-wall’ coverage and called news organizations ‘silent enablers, if not co-conspirators”’ in the violence.”  ‘They’ conspired?  Is this political doublespeak?

LaPierre also asks: “How many more copycats are waiting in the wings for their moment of fame, from a national media machine that rewards them with the wall-to-wall attention and sense of identity that they crave, while provoking others to try to make their mark?”  So the media manufactured and sold those guns?

No wait.  The famed head of some five million NRA members said its also the media’s fault for sheltering the entertainment and video game industries.  “There exists in this country, sadly, a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells and sows violence against its own people through vicious, violent video games with names like ‘Bullet Storm,’ ‘Grand Theft Auto,’ ‘Mortal Combat’ and ‘Splatterhouse,” LaPierre groaned.

So what is LaPierre’s answer?  He wants MORE guns in schools.  He insists the federal government funds armed guards at every school in this country.  Hmm.  Who profits from such an ‘innovation’?  Why gun stores and gun manufacturers, of course!  At about $ 1,500 per assault rifle at thousands of elementary, junior high and high schools, and walla! the gun industry would add millions more to the billions they have already profited from blood sacrificing guns!

Thankfully New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg answers LaPierre:  “Their press conference was a shameful evasion of the crisis facing our country. Instead of offering solutions to a problem they have helped create, they offered a paranoid, dystopian vision of a more dangerous and violent America where everyone is armed, and no place is safe.”

‘Washington Post’ columnist Eugene Robinson also expressed outrage:  “Absurd, unbelievable, tragic, obscene — I grope for words to describe the [NRA]’s proposal for how the nation should respond to last week’s slaughter in Newtown: More guns in the schools.  The idea is so insane.”

Our nation’s politicians have been fearful of confronting the NRA for years.  But if this is the best the ferocious NRA ‘beast’ can do, then the man who butchered twenty babies in Connecticut last week isn’t the only coward around!

As online Bible lessons teaches:  “The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle (78: 9).”  Thus, a nation which only has cowards as leaders eventually falls.
