The Price of Doing God’s Will

Please understand this: God’s Kingdom runs now, and always will run, on obedience. The realm of His rule does not function as a democracy or even a plutocracy—that is one run by a few people elected to rule. The Infinite, Eternal and Everlasting Gone alone—through His Son Jesus and His Holy Spirit—alone is always in charge!

Yes, Christians are saved by grace, and once they invite The LORD Jesus into their hearts, they move spiritually out of Satan’s kingdom, and into God’s kingdom. As babes in Christ, new Christians are groomed in God’s ways through His Holy Word—IF they read it for themselves. As each believer grows up in God’s grace, He attempts to anoint each one to perform the gifts and callings He has planned for the individual Christian’s life. Unless that person is under strong anointing from God, no human being can tell anyone else what their calling from God is intended to be.

The LORD must have a clear channel of communication with each individual believer. Unrepentant sin and neglect of prayer and Bible study interfere with that communication. In addition, instead of listening to God, too many Christians start following people. Instead of waiting to hear God’s voice within their inner-man, they too often listen to man, or even to the sins and desires of the flesh and the devil. Such disobedience is costly, not only to ourselves, but, most important, to God’s essential plan for the Christian’s life as it is intended to affect others and the world.

For example, when God needed a king of Israel who would obey His instructions as given through Samuel, the anointed High Priest, Saul—who lived too much in the flesh of his own will and desires—completely ignored and disobeyed God’s instructions, as given to him through Samuel. Like too many believers today, Saul ended up doing ‘religious’ things that he determined to be good enough to please God. When Samuel finally caught up with Saul, the priest was aghast that Saul had tried to substitute doing man-made ‘religious’ activities instead of doing God’s will. Astonished at Saul’s rebellion, Samuel told the king one of the most important verses in Scripture:

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king (I Samuel 15: 22-23).”

Can you see this? God’s Word is telling Christians that refusal to obey Him is the same as practicing witchcraft! As The Body of Christ now

I really enjoyed working on these shots to bring out the detail in the clouds.

stands at the very end of time, it is urgent that all Christians get into God’s Word, pray often for God-given wisdom to know the calling on each Christian’s life. As the world spins toward destruction, only one thing holds that destruction back: The commanding word of Christians who walk in The Word and Will of God. As Apostle Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians:

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

“Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what with-holdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way (2: 3 – 7).”

The Greek Words “let” and “letteth” mean stop or stops. Thus it is the Spirit-filled believer, or believers, in the Body of Christ who alone have ability to keep their foot down hard on the devil’s neck. They alone—among human beings—have the power and authority to tell the devil and his angels to cease and desist! When a believer lets his guard down, evil runs wild in the world. So let’s get to work in prayer, fasting, reading and meditating on God’s Word and always doing His absolute Will!
