This Thanksgiving consider the following: To be thankful to God for our Country’s peace, for our family, and for the life remaining which we have to love everyone more. It is only by the Grace of God that every American has more time to establish and re-establish the message of God’s kingdom over the face of the earth.
As Dave Hodges of beforeitsnews.com explains: “As the world’s common man rejoiced last night . . . I am still shuddering at how close we came to nuclear war with Russia. A [different result] would have guaranteed nuclear war with Russia. Deep inside sources that I was speaking with last night believe that Russia was days away from launching a nuclear first strike against the United States.
“One source I spoke with said that there was no way that Putin was not under intense pressure to launch a first strike given what was going on. NATO’s build up in the Baltics and directly on Russia’s borders, the relentless cyber-attacks in what appeared to be a preliminary move to to disable Russia’s command and control were extremely provocative and seemed to be inviting some kind of show of force by Putin to back down the United States, at minimum, or to go to full scale war, at the maximum.”
If Hodges is correct, is this not the most tremendous reason to thank God for His love and forgiveness in keeping our country safe? God knows this Grace is far more than we deserve. Is this not a reason as we go to Worship Services this Thanksgiving Day to give an offering to Our Savior for His goodness and grace. But remember as Moses writes to do so willingly: “And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will. . . . Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD (Leviticus 22: 29, 13).”
Apostle Paul adds that whenever we give to God’s work, we should do so willingly: “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (2 Corinthians 9: 6 – 8).
Another urgent mission for this Thanksgiving is to pledge to love more—yes to dedicate ourselves to loving God, family and all others more than ever before, to put a smile of forgiveness on our face, and to love family, friends and all others as if it were our last days on earth. As Hodges writes, it well could have been! Apostle Peter explains: “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins (1 Peter 4: 8).” Remember, the Thanksgiving table is not the place to argue politics, or past wrongs. It is a special place designed in United States history alone—it is not an international holiday—for us to thank God for all He has done to give us such a great nation!
Above all do not fall for Satan’s lies that this is the season for sadness, depression and death! Find someone who would tend to be sad this Thanksgiving and invite them to dinner too, and remember to especially pray for them. Remember that if that no good devil had his way, everyday would be a time of sadness and depression. Always prove his demons to be exactly who The LORD Jesus says each one is: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8: 44).”
In rebuking that monster, continue to believe God for His most bountiful blessings in the coming year: Always confess these promises in your wholesale Christian Bible“(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
“Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for yourliberal distribution unto them, and unto all men; And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift (2 Corinthians 9: 9 – 15).” God bless you all, now and forever! Amen.
Our beloved United States is at the brink of political and economic collapse. And Almighty God will first hold responsible the nation’s pastors, prophets, teachers and churches—all claiming to be Bible believing entities—because in the 1960s and earlier, they decided to stop holding Wednesday evening prayer services.
Heartfelt, faithful Bible-believing prayer—and especially group prayer among genuine Christians—is the spiritual power belonging to Christians on earth, allowing them to ignite the will of God to give, through His infinite omnipotent Will, an affirmative response in their behalf. Such spiritual power, such direct, authentic connection to God is the one sure pathway to God The Father, through and in The Name Jesus, Who is God The Son.
The only such spiritual forces benefiting from these 60 plus years of the lack of consistent group prayer in Christian churches are those of evil: that pyramided conglomerate of beings working directly for Satan, the chief rebel against God. These are the same forces that invaded certain theological schools and denominations in the middle of the last century in order to influence declines of weekly prayer meetings in local churches and parishes.
Moreover, these same forces constantly got the word out to local memberships that Biblical acumen alone did not certify pastor qualifications. Rather, a college education and theological degrees were necessary to complete true certification. Too many groups swallowed this “kool-aid” and thus decades ago, seeds were sown to weaken not only America’s churches, but the American nation as well.
Such errant teaching should have been countered by instruction to churches and individual Christians from wholesale Christian Bibles. Look at 1 Timothy 2: 1 – 3 where Paul instruction pastors and churches to pray for national leaders: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.”
This Apostle, founder of Gentile churches, insists that Christian churches come together regularly and prayer for their nation, for its leaders, its governors, its police forces, etc., because these authorities can assure that Christians lead a peaceful life. The Apostle knew that wicked rulers are controlled by Satan, and that such control could only be detained and overcome by the spiritual power of prayer.
But now, of course, the United States of America does not enjoy this “peaceful life.” We have the highest murder rate in 42 years. We have gangs roaming city streets with gun fights, and stray bullets hitting innocent women and children. And we have churches either closed on what use to be prayer nights, or else having so-called Bible studies instead of one, two or three-hour prayer meetings. Moreover, now we have a Constitutional crisis in this year’s election for the Presidency of the United States, while the nation faces internal and external attacks from Muslim extremists such as ISIS and Al queda.
When our nation’s churches held regular weekly prayer meetings with believers and church leaders on their knees together—such as during World Wars I and II—this nation never lost a war. Christian families sent their sons and daughters to war and prayed for them daily. Of course that was also when families came together, always praying at the dinner table. But now, most families who may say they are Christian don’t even prayer together over the dinner table. What is that old adage: “The family that prays together, stays together”? So maybe this is why the nation’s divorce rate is soaring as well!
Surely, if there were ever a time to repent and change, that time is now, before it will be everlastingly too late!
