Are Average Christians in the U.S. Ready for the Rapture?

Witnessing-for-JesusTo study what are and will be end-time occurrences on earth, both before and after the Rapture of the Body of Christ, it is necessary to go deeper into God’s Word. For one who is truly born again, the question is what is that person doing for God to advance, as The LORD’s prayer insists: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6: 10).”

If that person is in the United States, is that one witnessing for Christ on a regular basis? Some time ago a viewer called into Worship Center Radio (where this blogger has an internet radio television program, “Home for Today and Tomorrow”) from a nation oversees that is hostile to the Gospel.

He explained that in his country one is not free to witness about Christ, because he would be jailed or executed. He acknowledged that he hides his radio until late at night when everyone is sleep, and keeps it down very low, so that he can listen to the station’s Christian programs.  That man’s testimony is akin to 1 Thessalonians 1: 6: “And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.”

Are there similar testimonies for U.S. believers today? Are we waiting for The LORD’s appearance as in I Thessalonians 1: 9-10: “For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

The station has not heard from him again.  Perhaps he has suffered what happens in many countries today, the ultimate fate of being a Christian. Apostle Paul makes clear that afflictions come when presenting the Gospel to unbelievers: “For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

“Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost I Thessalonians 2: 14 – 16).”

As 1 Thessalonians is the main Book in wholesale Christian Bibles that goes deeply into The Rapture of Gods-Glory-TrainChristians from this earth, it takes great pains to explain in chapter 4: 1 – 12 the requirements for getting on this first “glory train”: i.e. no sexual activity outside of marriage and no financial fraud or deception, etc.

But for those who will get deeply dedicated into obeying Christ and His Word a glorious day awaits: “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18).”  Let us pray for one another that we get on this first glory train!
