Brother John: Well, as Newsworthy explained yesterday, be glad that 2013 is over! And pray that 2014 will be much, much better! Those in charge tell us to be positive in this year-end blog, to look forward with hope, not back in despair!
Doc Adversery: Oh, positive! Let’s see, we haven’t had major epidemics in 2013. But now, H1N1 is re-surging in the southern U.S. Government researchers puts Texas and other states, in the ‘widespread’ disease category. People with flu-like symptoms there are dying. What’s positive? It hasn’t spread to other states yet!
Butterman: Doc’s right. We haven’t had major poisoned food scandals in 2013. So––although China is importing chicken to the U.S. soon––we pray for the same record in 2014. Also, we must clean, cook and serve only healthy foods?
Feermeno: Yeah right! Who knows. Things are ‘rather’ quiet in this part of the world where Jael stuck me. Japanese leaders still transgress forbidden shrines, hoping to rewrite WW2 history. North Korea’s Un executed his uncle. The Fukushima nuclear plant still leaks radiation into the world’s Pacific Ocean waters.
Underpaid workers struggle to remove radioactive fuel rods at the clean-up site, and the Japanese government has set aside $ 970 million for new facilities to store those deadly rods. People fear poisonous milk! Positive? Nothing’s changed!
Brother John: Come on gang, someone must have some good news for 2014! Cecil Certified emails that continuous negative thinking leads to depression. And we are people of faith and good news, not of depression.
John, Jr.: Well don’t look to the kids Dad. They are furious that nations still do little to save animals from extinction, and that we had so few blogs about it in 2013. Their research shows many more species will go extinct next year.
Jim Seerfar: But these insane world leaders still follow the deception of global space exploration. It is as though they plan to finish destroying the earth, so the few of them can fly off into space. But it’ll never happen. God forbids it!
Nancy Repriestly: I am praying much for our nation, that: people find jobs, farmers prosper with good crops, the poor are fed, diseases stay away from our shores, our politicians rule with God’s wisdom and all of America will be blessed.
Brother Michael: Yes, Nancy. That’s the way to go! Alright you guys! Snap out of it! We have everything to thank God for in 2013––our health, our families, our salvation! Thousands read your blogs. As wholesale Christian sweatshirts proclaim: “Jesus Is Still LORD in 2014!” So say it! And Believe it!
Then concentrate on God’s precious promises, such as: “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2: 9).”
So good bye 2013. Come on 2014. We’re ready for whatever you bring. We stand on The Solid Rock, and His Name is Jesus Christ. Though rains come and winds try to knock us off, we will still complete His work. The Center holds!
The year 2013 may not seem like the worst for Global Warming records, but in reality it is! While the staff will go through each 2013 month in another blog, it is essential to point out this year’s dismal record for making the planet sicker.
For one thing, despite all the warnings about its dangers to Earth, CO2 emission levels from fossil fuels passed 400 parts per million in mid-2013, and the numbers keep rising. Science Daily advises that carbon dioxide from fossil fuels rose 2.1% this year, 61% above 1990 levels set by Kyoto Protocol:
“The Global Carbon Budget reveals that the biggest contributors to fossil fuel emissions in 2012 were China (27 per cent), the United States (14 per cent), the European Union (10 per cent), and India (6 per cent). The projected rise for 2013 comes after a similar rise of 2.2 per cent in 2012.
“Most emissions are from coal (43 per cent), then oil (33 per cent), gas (18 per cent), cement (5.3 per cent) and gas flaring (0.6 per cent). The growth in coal in 2012 accounted for 54 per cent of the growth in fossil fuel emissions.”
In addition, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded last fall that scientists are ‘more than ever’ sure that, through greenhouse gas emissions, people cause Global Warming, and it is getting worse.
As Think Progress.org points out, the world was much hotter in 2013: “Sea level rise is speeding up, dry areas are getting drier and we areas are getting wetter as the warmer atmosphere holds more moisture in it. . . . The oceans are taking up greater and greater amounts of carbon dioxide, which portends acidified doom for many shelled aquatic creatures and anything that relies on them.”
Their oceanographers also highlight that jelly fish populations around the world have exploded: “One Oregon fisherman says his boat has caught 4,000 [to]5,000 pounds of jellyfish.” Also, Think Progress reinforces their scientists’ conclusions that “the oceans are still on the brink of collapse due to overfishing; and spills of various kinds [have] killed thousands of fish and animals this year.”
Any reports about air quality, wild fire destruction, methane emissions, animal extinctions, storm survivors––all say the same thing: Global Warming accelerates its record of destroying Earth, man’s only home.
People take pride in 2013 because 2012 was declared the hottest year ever. But this year gives no reason for such effusion. While the hurricane season seems to be the lowest rate in 60 years, last month’s Typhoon Haiyan––the strongest storm ever to hit landfall––wipes out that record.
Those who have warned about Global Warming for years lose hope that world leaders even care. We look at Australia where the prime minister insists that record fires and drought there have nothing to do with Climate Change; or we screech at China, a nation burning enough fossil fuel to kill millions of people.
But few listen. As Christian messages repeatedly exhorts: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1: 7).” After Hurricane Sandy decimated America’s East Coast, and now, after Typhoon Haiyan has killed––at last count––6,000 people, world leaders should prove whether they want to be remembered as wise men or fools.
Animal Kids: So why are we here Butterworth? You know these people still kill beloved animals sending them into extinction. Let’s see, manatee deaths in Florida are over 800 by now. And you adults do nothing!
Man-made Global Warming sends so much rain into Canada that it is killing Arctic Peregrine Falcons. Now who needs more dead birds? Don’t cats do enough? And what about a 1,000 South African rhinos slaughtered for their horns?
When do you people ever get enough? The ivory-billed woodpecker, amur leopard, northern sportive lemur, saola, and yeah, the leatherback sea turtle––their killing volunteers trying to keep those turtles alive. What do you say about that?
Butterworth: Yes. I know, I know. Look you could add the Siberian tiger, Northern Right Whale, Javan Rhinoceros, the Chinese Giant Salamander, and even the Little Dodo Bird. But some people really are trying to save these animals.
Animal Kids: Trying? What do you mean trying? They take the animals’ lands, pushing them to starvation, overfish and pollute their oceans, they kill them for their treasures like ivory, or skin, or sport, or something else stupid!
Butterworth: I know this is a bad record for this year. Things are the same, only worse. But look, people still try. Capt. Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherds fight in the whale wars to save as many of those sea mammals as possible.
And––thanks to members of the Sierra Club––the Governor of Puerto Rico has signed a law protecting Leatherback Turtles on that country’s 3,000 acre Northeast Ecological Corridor (NEC) from development. firstname.lastname@example.org says Puerto Rico environmentalists have fought for 15 years to save those turtles.
Also savetherhino.org writes that some 150 organizations in South African have formed to protect rhinos, including groups from the World Wildlife Fund. They have banded together in this effort, including efforts to de-horn the rhinos.
Please believe there are groups of people who are just as concerned about saving animals from extinction as you are. And oh yes, the pergrinefund.org is a 40 plus year old organization dedicated to saving peregrine falcons, as well as other birds of prey, from extinction. They say many other birds are threatened:
“The Peregrine Fund is a non-profit dedicated to saving birds of prey from extinction. Throughout the world, birds of prey are threatened by shooting, poisoning, and loss of habitat. Saving these birds is an effective means of conserving the rich diversity of life that is critical to the future health of our planet and the well-being of generations to come.”
Animal Kids: OK Butterworth We’ll let you off the hook this time. But, tell Jael we want more people to get involved to save these animals. Number two, the chimpanzee’s not endangered but we just think this one looks smarter than people.
And number three, remember what Christian clothing wholesale warns: God directed men to “have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Genesis 1: 28).” Dominion means we are suppose to take care of them, not needlessly kill them!
Rev. Repriestly: We’ll have to wing it this ‘holy day’ kids. Jael is behind closed doors praying about the state of things. You know: Global Warming, animal extinctions, etc. She insists we give out a shout for Taryn and all the gang at I.E. Plexus this Christmas season. God’s precious grace upon them now and forever!
Now let us celebrate! It’s The LORD’s birthday! Newspaper kids, Animal advocates, Overseas crews, Doc and staff, Space Watch Specialists––Everyone chime in. Rejoice. Today, we celebrate! It is The LORD’s Birthday!
Sarah Newsworthy: Hallelujah Righteous One! This Christmas Day, we sing of joy to celebrate Your Coming to earth. Thank You for giving this team a new ministry to teach about Global Warming in these last days.
Ally Feermeno: Oh my. Everything aside Savior. What can we give You for a present Almighty King? You give us so much every day. You are so kind and gracious to everyone who wants You in their lives. Is that the way You want us to be? Then, that is My gift to You: to be more like You every day, in every way.
Jim Seerfar: Dearest Jesus. I study those stars. I know how far You came to save mankind from the grip of sin and evil. And ahh Dear Savior, we pray for You to return for us soon, bursting through the heavens with a shout that You are coming back to collect Your children waiting, looking every day for You.
Cecil: Yes, Dearest King. Today, we ignore all the crazies popping up, and concentrate on You: The Light of the World! Happy Birthday. And as they say: “Many Happy Returns!” So Return Soon for us soon please Precious Savior!
Doc Ad Versery: Thank you Dearest Jesus that we have had less epidemics this year. Please bless doctors everywhere working to keep people alive and healthy. Please give us more healing ministries. And please uncover evil health workers who plot for death and not life, who deceive, who serve deadly demons.
Nancy Repriestly: Happy Birthday LORD Jesus. You came into a sin-filled world and turned it upside down. Instead of temples filled with naked people worshipping filthy evil gods, within a few years––through all their persecutions against Your People––You closed them down, and built churches for The One True God instead. You alone are King of This Planet, Precious LORD Jesus. You alone!
John Jr.: Thank You Blessed Savior for teaching me how to work with these kids. I know this training will one day make me a good father, just as You are The Best Father protecting, providing for, and loving Your children every day.
Lucy Lip: Happy Birthday Jesus! Thank You for my gifts. Thank You for family, health and home. Thank you for a little brother that I love most of the time. Please help me to be better next year. I’m getting too grumpy even for myself.
Brother Michael: So let us join in and sing as it rings out in Christian prayer books: “Let Heaven and Earth Adore Him! Let Heaven and Earth Adore Him! Let Heaven and Earth Adore Him! Christ The LORD!
We should have said something way back when ‘they’ replaced telephone operators with a phony woman mimicking on tape recordings. We should have complained loudly when ‘globalization’ gave us calling solicitors who can’t speak English clearly. And did we pelt Congress when ‘they’ invented these ‘robo calls.’
If we did voice objection, we didn’t scream loudly enough, and finally––in a quest to keep up with ‘prosperous’ modern life––we let it go, just as we let go many other things: clean water, unpolluted air, and preservation of skills that provided a decent living––i.e. tailoring skills on sewing machines made in the U.S.A. to produce quality clothing here. But like steel manufacturing, ‘they’ gave our jobs to other nations with what they called ‘trade agreements.’
We should have said something when computerized news put print newspapers on the endangered species list, when vicious brawlers with giant guns on you-tube computer games further disaffected our children’s knowledge of reading, writing and, well you know. And in fact, these ‘fight’ machines helped to make some of our children and youth mass killers. But we didn’t say very much.
Now––with robot pilots executing people around the world at will, with robots building cars and computers, with robots vacuuming floors, etc.––i.e. stealing more jobs–– they rush to make robot cars to drive us around, and flying robot machines to deliver packages in hours instead of days––ahh there go more jobs for postmen and other mail and package delivery persons.
(In fact the front page of today’s New York Times shows a picture of a robot drone taking films and snap shots of a house for sale, so realtors and photographers won’t have to go out and take the pictures themselves.)
Can’t you just see it now. More death to birds because these robot package deliveries fill the air, crashing into one another to reach monied destinations. But then, we say nothing about viral and ‘domesticated’ cats killing birds by the millions. Cat food manufacturers flood airways with food and play ‘necessities’ for the bird killing-animals of cat lovers. Although a few complain, its not heard!
Does anyone wonder what jobs Americans will hold in a decade or two? They won’t be driving taxis, or cleaning floors. Robots will perform those labors. And other jobs will be done overseas. Now that China is sending chickens here, even more of our food stuffs will come from other foreign countries––whether they are labeled or not. Certainly grocery chains and importers don’t want them labeled.
We should never stop pushing against this so-called progress, with the politicians whom we elect. This nation became the greatest country on earth, because its people spoke out to guide its governments for their needs and wishes.
With courage, we fought wars based on our principles of right and wrong.
Now we are snared by fears, cowardly leanings and laziness. These are traits sown by America’s enemies who wish to collapse her from within. Maybe we hope things will change, whether speak out or not. But they won’t!
As Bible verse cards read: “The children of Ephraim being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle (Psalm 78: 9).” Americans are armed to speak out. But will they do so? The day of battle is passing quickly.
O.k. I give up! Jael is right. Call Cecil Certified! This country spends billions of dollars sending men and metals into space, and we still don’t have the best available health care in the U.S., not even in most States of the Union.
The Stock Market is breaking records on profits for ‘gazillionairs’ and Americans still don’t have the best possible health care system. We didn’t have it two years ago. We didn’t have have it 10 years ago. We have never had the highest quality health care available for everyone––even for the richest among us!
No. Money isn’t the problem. Politicians’ failure to serve their people is. In a 124 page report the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation show how unprepared states are for epidemic diseases.
A collection of states–– Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), ‘Outbreaks: Protecting Americans from Infectious Diseases 2013, National Health Security Preparedness Index (NHSPI)’––agreed to release the bad news.
The study measured organized health care preparedness in 10 areas, including: “. . . public health funding levels, meeting vaccination targets, having a climate-change adaptation plan, mandates for reporting healthcare-associated infection reporting, public health lab capacity, and routine HIV screening.”
Their two year study gave this nation––reportedly the greatest nation on earth–– “an overall preparedness score of 7.2 on a scale of 10, with state scores ranging from 5.9 to 8.1.” In truth, most of the states scored far below average:
“A majority of states (34) scored 5 or lower on the key indicators, ranging from New Hampshire as the highest scoring at 8 to Georgia, Nebraska, and New Jersey, all tied for the lowest score of 2.” So three states are graded ‘F-’, failure!
For instance, Dr. Jeff Levi, Executive Director of TFAH, adds only about 12 states vaccinate at least half of their people, and only Connecticut and Delaware vaccinate preschoolers for whooping cough, and that politicians in more than 30 states have lowered health funding since 2011.
Hmm. 2011! That was the year The Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System asked ‘Why Not the Best? Results from the National Scorecard on U.S. Health System Performance, 2011,’ and answered: “The U.S. health system continues to perform sub-optimally relative to what is achievable and relative to the large resources invested by the nation.” Failed again!
Their report, ‘National Scorecard on U.S. Health System Performance, 2011’
assessed the “U.S. population health and health care quality, access, efficiency, and equity,” and concluded: “U.S. health system performance continues to fall far short of what is attainable, especially given the enormity of public and private resources devoted nationally to health. Across 42 performance indicators, the U.S. achieves a total score of 64 out of a possible 100, when comparing national rates with domestic and international benchmarks.” So D- and lower than ‘other’ countries.
What a shame! Spanish speaking countries call politicians shepherds. If politicians don’t think that God will judge them harshly for such poor shepherding, they have another ‘think’ coming! As Christian messages cry out: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9: 27).”
Overwhelming numbers of Climate Scientists know it, reindeer and polar bears know it, even the British Parliament knows it: final melt down of Arctic ice means unstoppable releases of methane in earth’s air, more ‘hot’ water, and death! Yet world leaders only express eagerness to reach tons of oil under that ice.
In ‘The End of the Arctic? Ocean Could be Ice Free by 2015,’ Peter Wadhams, University of Cambridge ocean physics professor, tells Mark Hertsgaard “the Arctic Ocean could be completely free of ice in summer as soon as 2015.”
In a report to the British Parliament, the Environmental Audit Committee writes: “Herds of reindeer have declined by one-third since the 1990s as their access to food sources, breeding grounds and historic migration routes have been altered.” Now reindeer join polar bears as early victims of Global Warming.
But people will soon follow. As commercial ships from Russia, China, the U.S., Europe and the Middle East rush geological ‘gold’ diggers to the area seeking quiet explorations for potential wealth, climate scientists scream, “Wait” “Danger!”
The so-called world leaders insist this melted ice will net 10,000 gold mines. But Pilita Clark contradicts: “The rapidly melting Arctic is an “economic time bomb” likely to cost the world at least $60 trillion”––in damaged crops, flooding and wrecked infrastructures everywhere. But she misses the point: they don’t care about food, housing, businesses or roads for the masses. They care about the $$!!!
Clark interviewed researchers who claim that methane emissions alone would cause 80 percent of estimated monetary damages in poorer nations due to increasing floods, droughts and other Global Warming storm factors.
They conclude: “Arctic waters are expected to hasten thawing of the permafrost beneath the East Siberian Sea . . . that is believed to contain vast deposits of methane. This is a greenhouse gas some 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide.” They don’t know how long it will stay in the air, but . . .
As if that weren’t enough to stop the money-glory boys, the Antarctic is also melting, and it will emit even more methane and other poisonous gases. James Dickson, James Head and Marianne Okal write in ‘Coastal Antarctic Permafrost Melting Faster than Expected,’ the ground ice under this Pole will melt even more of the frozen soils beneath earth’s surface.
While the sun easily bounces off Arctic ice, it shines hard on solid “frozen soils and layers of underground sediment.” Moreover, “Antarctica’s Dry Valleys contain some of the continent’s largest stretches of ground ice” putting more water into rising ocean levels and fill earth’s air will deadly poisons.
So there you have it: the whole earth is melting away, and these Nero leaders around the world, instead of playing fiddles, hasten the melts to make themselves and their sponsors rich. Used Christian books assert: “The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit” (Proverbs 14: 8).”
Holman Bible Dictionary defines ‘folly’: “Seven different Hebrew words are usually translated by the single English word, ‘folly.’ Some of the shades of meaning suggested by these various words include: a) deliberate sinfulness; b) simple-mindedness; c) malicious simple-mindedness; and d) brutal or subhuman activity.” Yep, that well summarizes today’s leaders who ignore Global Warming!
Now it has become ‘fashionable’ across the U.S. for surburban residents to hunt and kill wild animals, while ignoring the fact that real estate and commercial expansion first transgressed areas that animals considered to be their homes.
As David Von Drehle writes this week in ‘Time Magazine:’ “After nearly wiping out many wildlife species 50 years ago, Americans are once again living close––sometimes uncomfortably so––to all kinds of feral creatures.”
His article, ‘America’s Pest Problem: Why the Rules of Hunting Are About to Change,’ explains: “Whether you’re a Walmart employee in Florida wondering what to do with the alligator at your door, a New Yorker with a hawk nesting on your high-rise or an Ohio golfer scattering a flock of Canada geese, you now live, work and play in closer proximity to untamed fauna than any other generation of Americans in more than a century.”
Thus, this nation’s years-old pity for Bambi disappears when she shows up near your mail box, eating your prize front yard ‘show’ flowers. As Dan Morse, Jeremy Borden and Clarence Williams posit in Washington Post’s ‘As Deer Encroach on Washington Suburbs, Attitudes about Kills Shift:’
“While deer encroachment on populated suburban lands has become a national problem, specific events have driven the shift locally. On a typical day in Montgomery, five motorists strike deer.” When a 9-month-old buck crashed a restaurant window, the owner said, “Too many deer. They have to do something.”
That something is that now suburbanites have taken up gun hunting. As Von Drehle says: “Too many deer, wild pigs, raccoons and beavers can be almost as bad for the animals as too few. . . . communities across the country find themselves forced to grapple with a conundrum. The same environmental sensitivity that brought Bambi back from the brink . . . now makes it painfully controversial to do what experts say must be done: . . these critters need to be killed.”
Interesting that he lumps wild pigs in with other natural animals. In all of the other examples, gluts of freeways giving automobile access to real estate developments in what were once wilderness areas, enabled people to infringe on animal habitats. But wild pigs were illegally imported into this country several years ago. They multiply much more rapidly than deer or other native animals, destroy farm lands, and often attack people with threats to kill, while deer don’t!
But then when it comes to over-valued real estate forced upon America’s wilderness, over-armed people stand ready to kill. Great news for gun dealers, the National Rifle Association, and internet gun sales.
But horrible news for the nation’s moral status before God. As He warns in Bible prophecies, man was to rule over and care for animals (i.e. Genesis 1: 26), not needlessly kill them. Just as that was the commandment in the first book of the Bible, in the last book, He allows animals to have revenge:
“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth (Revelation 6: 8).”
Those who keep track with records set by Global Warming––i.e. droughts, unreasonably rough and cold winters, hurricanes, tornadoes, animal extinctions, inexplicable storms, etc.––are well aware that things are getting worse.
Warning after warning has continually plummeted onto airways and internet for years about earth’s emergencies caused by Global Warming and Climate Change. But national leaders with the power to regulate carbon-burning industries have done little or nothing about these sources of earth’s destruction.
Commending on the worse of Global Warming yet to come, Earth Policy release said of the recent Philippine storm: “. . . the typhoon that slammed into the Philippines with 195-mile-an-hour winds [is] the most powerful tropical storm to make landfall on record. . . .
“Super Typhoon Haiyan had gusts reaching 235 miles per hour and a storm surge swelling as high as 20 feet, so the destruction it left behind matched that of a tornado combined with a tsunami.” Understand that tsunamis come after earthquakes, not typhoons. So, again, we have multiplying destruction in nature!
Also comprehend that weather scientists have warned of the worse to come for years. In 2003, uk.independent.com wrote: “In an astonishing announcement on global warming and extreme weather, the World Meteorological Organization [WMO] signaled . . . that the world’s weather is going haywire.
“In a startling report, the WMO, which normally produces detailed scientific reports and staid statistics at the year’s end, highlighted record extremes in weather and climate occurring all over the world . . . from Switzerland’s hottest-ever June to record. . . tornadoes in the United States––and linked them to climate change.”
Just to what extreme does ‘wacky’ weather become ‘normal’ enough for national leaders to get the truth: earth is way pass the emergency stage of weather. Do they not understand that such heated weather reaches a point of no return?
Scientists studying Arctic Warming agree with what Christa Marshall and Climate Wire claim in ‘Scientific American’: “Scientists have long known that the Arctic is warming faster than the rest of the globe, even as they had less of a grasp of how recent trends compare to thousands of years ago. Now, a new study aims to fill the knowledge gap by concluding that recent summer warming in the eastern Canadian Arctic is unprecedented in more than 44,000 years.”
44,000 years!!!! Just as Earth Policy argues: “The world is literally moving off the charts. With the global average temperature up over half a degree Celsius since the 1970s and with more warming in store, we are starting to witness weather anomalies so severe we need to update our metrics and extend our graphs.”
But corporate bigwigs insist upon continuing their destruction of earth and its inhabitants––whether animal or human. They could care less about the number they kill as long as it increases their profits. What Scripture can I, Jael or Pastor Repriestly give them to provoke change? As Bible verse cards continually argue:
“But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire (2 Peter 2: 2).” And the politicians corporate scions feed are no different!
Space scientists have no idea whether or not Comet ISON survived its brush with the sun in the last few days. Although they surmise ISON comes from the outer edge of earth’s solar system, they fear it would disintegrate when coming within 730,000 miles from the sun’s surface where heat is 5,000F degrees.
So scientists are either waiting to finally declare funeral rights for the comet or to celebrate its survival. But most expect to celebrate! Karl Battams, comet scientists at the Naval Research Laboratory tells Amanda Barnett of CNN News:
“It now looks like some chunk of ISON’s nucleus has indeed made it through the solar corona, and re-emerged . . . It’s throwing off dust and gas. . . but we don’t know how long it can sustain that. Now it has emerged and started to brighten, we need to observe it for a few days to get a feel for its behavior.”
Everyone seems to be looking to see if the comet is still ‘alive,’ even professional ‘space travelers.’ Battams says: “A fleet of spacecraft watched ISON plunge toward the sun, including NASA’s STEREO satellite, the European Space Agency/NASA SOHO spacecraft and the Solar Dynamics Observatory.” Hmm. So the U.S. spends billions on space flights to observe hunks of flying rocks?
In ‘Did Comet ISON Survive? Scientists see Tiny Hope’ Karl Ritter speaks to astronomer Alan Fitzsimmons who expresses hope after ISON touched near the sun: “It certainly appears as if there is an object there that is emitting material.”
Space scientists describe comets as miles wide snowballs of frozen rocks, dust and gases gases. The sun’s heat warms the particles, they shoot out tails thousands of miles long. And apparently it makes quite an exciting site for some.
ISON is named after the International Scientific Optical Network (ISON) where its discoverers––amateur Russian astronomers Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok––worked when they discovered the comet in September of last year.
space.com’a Mike Wall claims: 1) ISON is now the comet of the century; 2) That it may shine as bright as the moon in the next few days; 3) Even if it will be seen, the comet will miss earth by 40 million miles; 4) ISON flung past Mars, the Red Planet, in October and may have been seen by NASA’s Curiosity Rover there.
So we spend billions more to shot a machine up to Mars so it can see dead rocks?
Please ask Jael to call Cecil Certified! I can’t take any more of this insanity. The whole world is excited about a giant fiery rock with tails flying through the sky? And the U.S. government spends billions of dollars going into space, but doesn’t want to feed hungry children, or help support their working parents?
Wait till they see The LORD Jesus, The Son of Man, coming to judge the earth. And He will rule it forever. Now that’s something to get ready for. Till then, governments must stop wasting time and money to see things in the skies.
Unless they go as planet rulers for God, men will never spend their lives in space. As the prophet Amos cries in wholesale Christian Bibles: “Seek Him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is His name (5: 8).”
