Global Warming Driving Planet Into Death & Human Extinction, Pt 2

Global-Warming-For-Dummies-Book    Global Warming threatens America’s food, families and ultimately, its security.  As shoppers watch grocery prices sky-rocket, and new diseases rush onto the nation’s shores, the inevitable question arises:  when will the government get serious about stopping the effects of these horrendous climate change.

A decade ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) began warning leaders of nations that climate increases would bring diseases.  In 2006, Kristie L. Ebi, public health consultant for WHO, warned that climate change could overwhelm public health services. Yet little as  been done about the causes of Global Warming.

Last year, a group of climate scientists and public health researchers predicted “ . . . global warming will lead to higher incidence and more intense versions of disease. The direct or indirect effects of global warming might intensify the prevalence of tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, dengue and Lyme disease . . .”

Professor Gerald Friedland from Yale’s School of Medicine added: “Global warming will likely cause major population upheavals, creating crowded slums of refugees [making] residents more vulnerable to diseases . . .”

Dr. Maria Diuk-Wasser, also from Yale, theorized:  “. . . global warming may increase the infection rates of mosquito-borne diseases . . .Warming, and the floods associated with it, are like to increase rates of both malaria and dengue, a viral disease . . . transmitted by mosquito bites. . .effects of temperature increase are an increase in . . . mosquito biting rates, which increase contact rates with humans.”

This year, in ‘How Much Disease Would Climate Change Cause?,’ WHO gives the same warnings.  But, as the nation watches huge crops of mosquitoes spring up from coast to coast, still few in charge seem to be seriously listening.mosquito460

Even as she discusses ‘Climate Change ‘Driving Spread of Crop Pests’,’ Rebecca Morelle of the BBC ‘re-assures’ readers that insects increasingly destroy our food crops driving up food costs:  “ . . . it is estimated that between 10% and 16% of the world’s crops are lost to disease outbreaks. The researchers warn that rising global temperatures could make the problem worse.”

She quotes Dr. Dan Bebber from the University of Exeter:  “Global food security is one of the major challenges we are going to face over the next few decades.  We really don’t want to be losing any more of our crops than is absolutely necessary to pests and pathogens.”

So there you have it!  Leaders continue to piddle around the edges of action, while Global Warming steals the nation’s foods, makes its population sick and weakens viabilities for long-lasting lives.  Medical communities around the world fight to hold back tides of exploding epidemics, but that won’t always work.

As world leaders refuse to act, only Almighty God can make the difference.  Please ask Him to stop the swiftly falling decline of the human race, and return His Son to take charge of this earth immediately.  As Apostle John prays at the close of the Book of Revelation: “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus (22: 20).”

Global Warming Driving Planet Into Death & Human Extinction

global-warming-kills        Various public and private agencies in the last few weeks privately admit that Global Warming brings more death to Planet Earth than previously expected.  In charting likely increased diseases hotter weather will bring, the World Health Organization (WHO) covertly cites:

Changes in air pollution and aeroallergen levels; 2) Changed transmission of additional infectious diseases; 3) Degrading food production from increased plant and pest diseases; 4) Drought and famine; 5) Population displacements caused by crop failures, water shortages and natural disasters; 6) Failure of health resources and organized health infrastructures; 7) Wars over natural resources; and 8) Deaths caused by direct impact of heat and cold.

WHO says:  “. . .  if our understanding of . . .  climate and disease is realistic, then climate change may already be affecting human health.”

In ‘Climate Change ‘Driving Spread of Crop Pests,’ BBC’s Rebecca Morelle reports on findings from researchers at Exeter and Oxford:  “Climate change is helping pests and diseases that attack crops to spread around the world who claim pests with crop diseases are moving toward the north and south poles at two miles (3km) a year, establishing themselves in areas once too cold for their existence.

Dan Shapley of the Daily Green catalogues: ‘The Deadly Dozen: 12 Diseases Global Warming Incubates––From Lyme Disease to Ebola Virus, The World Is Getting Sicker:’ “The Wildlife Conservation Society has identified the ‘Deadly Dozen’––12 diseases that are likely to spread due to Global Warming.”

These include:  1)  Avian influenza, of which H5N1 “is currently a major concern for world governments and health 17012281organizations.” 2) Babesiosis – tick-borne diseases affecting domestic animals and wild life and now an emerging disease among people; 3) Cholera, a water-borne diarrheal disease.

Ebola hemorrhagic fever virus related to Marburg fever virus can easily kill people and members of gorilla families; 5) Intestinal and external parasites throughout land and water environments; 6) Lyme disease transmitted to people through tick bites; 7) Plague, known as Black Death spread by rats and fleas;

‘Red Tides’ meaning poisonous algal blooms deadly to humans and wildlife;  9) Rift Valley Fever emerging animal disease affecting domestic animals passed on to people through butchering; 10) Sleeping sickness, known as trypanosomiasis, transferred by the tsetse fly;

Tuberculosis transferred from cattle through un-pasteurized milk; 12) Yellow fever found in Central and South America carried by mosquitoes.

We will write more about these urgent issues in future blogs.  For now, let us rely on God’s Word in Christian messages:  “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. . . .He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11: 1, 6), and turn to Him in prayer for comfort and assistance in these last days.

Global Warming Hot Months––Mosquitoes, Ticks & Measles Part 2

September 4, 2013

measles_300w    Sarah Newsworthy:  Doc, you say one form of West Nile Virus is more dangerous. And are these new cases of tick diseases and measles also tied to Global Warming?

Doc Ad Versery: Let’s take one at a time.  As of today, September 3, 2013, the Texas Department of State Health Services announced 31 cases of West Nile Virus, including 18 ‘milder’ forms with symptoms of fever, aches, rash and swollen lymph glands.  But 13 are neuroinvasive forms, potentially deadly.

Symptoms include headache, higher fever, stiffness, muscle weakness, even paralysis.  Patients can have tremors, convulsions, and even go into comas.  So far at least three patients in U.S. hospitals have died from this form of West Nile Virus.

Newsworthy: And that’s definitely attributable to Global Warming.  As Seth Borenstein writes “Mosquitoes Are Worse This Summer in Parts of the U.S.” He quotes a teacher complaining of mosquito assaults: “You can’t get from the car to inside our house without getting attacked, it’s that bad.”

Borenstein says states now have up to five times the normal rate of mosquito invasions. These bugs have even grown resistance to spraying pesticides.  Among the most deadly, Asian tiger mosquitos, were imported to the U.S. 25 years spraying-pesticidesago.

Doc Ad Versery: Which  brings us to this year’s measles outbreak.  Dr. Vincent Iannelli, M.D. posts exhaustive examples of patients who contracted measles through travel overseas, or who suffered exposure from travelers. Also, most patients contracting the disease did not have measles vaccinations.

He also explains:  “. . . measles cases are starting to rise in other countries too, especially in the UK, where there were over 1,200 cases of measles and one death in Swansea, Wales since November. . . . Of the 8,499 cases of measles in the European Union in the past 12 months, 82% were unvaccinated.”

Newsworthy:  Yes, in addition Mike Strobe writes about some parents who listened to rumors that vaccination shots can cause autism, so they avoided vaccinations and booster shots.  He also says that the same rumors prevent some parents from allowing vaccines for whooping cough, causing another outbreak.

Doc Adversy: Now while measles outbreaks may come from world travel, and of whooping cough from unfounded rumors, Global Warming defintely causes this new spread of tick diseases and other maladies.

In ‘Why Can’t I Get Better,’ Dr. Richard I. Horowitz, M.D. notes tick-borne illnesses that can accompany Lyme Disease:  Borrelia miyamotoi and Powassan encephalitis, which can be carried by the same ticks.  Unfortunately, “These pathogens join a rapidly expanding list of other bacteria, viruses and parasites that are transmitted by tick bites, including ehrlichia, anaplasma and babesia.”

Newsworthy:  Oh my.  Let us follow Rev. Repriestly’s advice and repeat Jeremiah’s prayer in wholesale Christian Bibles:  “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for Thou art my praise (17: 14).”

Global Warming Hot Weeks Against the U.S.––Here Come Mosquitoes

West-Nile-Virus-cycle    Sarah Newsworthy:  Doc, you warned at the end of last month that record-breaking heat in July would probably bring mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus and other diseases this month.  What is the situation on that now?

Dr. Ad Versery:  Well Sarah that still seems to be case.  But continuing hot weather in some parts of the country in August will explode mosquito populations this fall.  Already most states report rises in West Nile mosquito carriers.

On August 27th, the U.S. Geological Surveys found the West Nile Virus among misquotes in 41 states at the District of Columbia.  A few states had extremely high volume percentages of the disease among the insects tested, including:  California at 1585 carriers, Illinois with 1009, New Jersey 309, and Pennsylvania 729, as compared to low rates in Kansas at 1, or Iowa at 4.

Newsworthy:  But those numbers mean little to states such as Colorado which had 131 illnesses and lost five people to the disease last year.  The Denver Post has reported at least three cases of West Nile Virus this month.

Cities there have already started mosquito control efforts, such as spraying and moving scheduled outdoor activities in-doors.  Surely, officials in other states are also taking precautions.  Paul Tinder writes in VN Daily, 29 states reported cases of West Nine infections at the end of last month, including three deaths.

Dr. Ad Versery:  We don’t know what is going on all the states. But we do know this is serious.  After all, last year West Nile infected mosquitoes brought a record number of 286 deaths out of 5,674 cases in the U.S.

Newsworthy:  Global Warming assures us that very high heat levels will continue long into the fall.  You know what makes no sense to me doc?  Why is there a West Nile vaccine for animals and not one for people?  So what should people do to protect themselves from getting this disease?

Dr. Ad Versery:  As we said last year:  get rid of standing water, including kiddie pools.  Even change bird feeders every preventing-West-Nile-Virusseveral days.  Wear skin covering clothes––i.e. long sleeve shirts and long pants––when going outside, and use insect repellents such as DEET, Picaridin, eucalyptus, geranoil or Oil of Lemon.

Newsworthy: Yes. And avoid going outside at dawn and dusk.  Those are the hours when mosquitoes are most active.  The best advise is just to stay in doors!  And encourage local and state officials to start spraying against the mosquitoes.

Dr. Ad Versery: Also, because of Global Warming––your area of expertise Sarah––it is projected that extreme heat waves will increase by 5% a year, scheduled to double by 2020 and quadruple by 2040.  Many people will not be able to live in that kind of heat.  It is urgent that Christians start praying about this.

Newsworthy:  You are right.  It would also help if nations start taking serious steps against Global Warming.  As our online Bible lessons teach national leaders:  “Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them (Ezekiel 28: 7).”  Those leaders denying Global Warming are not guarding the people under their charge!
