Expanding Monied Interests Slaughtering Pygmy Elephants in Borneo

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 17:01 PM
January 31, 2013

Dr. Ad Versery:  Maleekie, Jael has asked us to expand our staffs to better cover world news.  So I am assigning you a special team of reporters from the Newspaper Boys & Girls, Intl. to work with you, and I have placed an on-line ad for another environmental reporter to work with you as well.

John J. Jr.:  Yes maam, we give you five newspaper kids who work in Africa, Europe, Asia and other island places.  Newspaper Boys and Girls, Malaysia, beg you to immediately take up the murder of their precious pygmy elephants.

Maleekie:  Yes, I have gotten news wires about the deaths of those poor animals in Borneo as well.  Richard Shears writes in ‘Did Palm Oil Plantation Workers Poison 14 Pygmy Elephants Found Dead on Borneo?’:

“Wildlife rangers believe that the creatures could have eaten toxic substances laid to keep away ‘pests’ from the highly lucrative crop.  The animals live on land in the Gunung Rara Forest Reserve which is very close to palm oil fields.  A total of 14 pygmy elephants are now know to have died.

“Vets said that all the dead elephants had suffered severe bleeding and gastrointestinal ulcers, suggesting they had been poisoned. Wildlife workers fear that more elephants could have been poisoned and are lying undiscovered in the remoter parts of Borneo.  Among the survivors is a three-month-old calf which was pictured pitifully trying to rouse his mother after she dropped down dead.”

John J. Jr.:  Our newspaper kids say two palm oil plantations and a logging company operating in the 100,000-acre ‘commercial forest reserve’ have so broken up forests that traditional routes animals use for food are destroyed.

The World Wildlife Foundation avers the dead pygmies were in “areas being converted for plantations.”  One commentator says:  “The plantation owners are paying workers to kill anything in the forests that would stop the stripping of the forests for palm oil.  American corporations are up to their necks in the ruination.”

Dr. Ad Versery:  Oh my!  We must contact Bros. John, Jude and Michael for prayer immediately.  Those animals are already on the Endangered Species List.  These dreadful acts will bring down the sure judgment of God!

He holds man responsible for care of all animals, and to peacefully co-exist with them.  He placed such living creations in the earth to build their own kingdoms and families in service to Him.

As Jeremiah prays in Bible prophecies: “For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black (4: 28).”  And well does Hosea cry: “Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven (4: 3).”  Man will surely pay for such carnage!  This is a prayer emergency indeed.  If Malaysian law won’t stop these beast slaughters, we must pray that God will before it brings final judgment.”

While Leaders Ignore, Global Warming Brings Loss, Poverty & Death

posted by Sarah N Worthy IATTWJ Member @ 0:37 AM
January 30, 2013

While those in leadership belittle its affects, Global Warming sinks more and more of its victims around the world into abject poverty.  Homes, jobs, vehicles, etc. sink into irretrievable loss––not to mention lives––not only in Third World nations, but in wealthy First World ones as well, including the United States.

Thomas E. Lovejoy of The New York Times writes in ‘The Climate Change Endgame:’  “Whether in Davos or almost anywhere else that leaders are discussing the world’s problems, they are missing by far the biggest issue: the rapidly deteriorating global environment and its ability to support civilization.”

In Japan, former home owners, victims of the Tsunami-caused nuclear breakdown have lived homeless in an abandoned high school since April of 2011.  According to they still exist on charity-given box-lunches.

AFP News Service sent word from Mozambique a few days ago that raging flood waters have trapped tens of thousands away from the main land, shuttering in trees in groups of 500 or more, starving, eating only grasshoppers where they can find them.  Alice Mukavele, a mother of six sighs:  “It is three days now. We have nothing to eat, nowhere to sleep, no clothes. I left as I am.”

‘Mozambique Floods Prompt Humanitarian Crisis’ warns:  “The risk of disease has skyrocketed.  Diarrhea is already the biggest killer of children in Mozambique, and without latrines a cholera outbreak may not be far away.”

‘Poverty ‘Rampant’ in Earthquake Hit Christchurch, 2 Years After Disaster’ gives clear detail of the economic wreck these extreme natural upheavals leave behind.  Families struggle to survive in garages, wash houses, tents and sheds.  Social services stay overwhelmed.  Here too much disease is expected.

For the second time in two years, Australia is hit with torrential rains, tornadoes, and severe flooding.  Lives are lost, and homes abandoned.  Rains are now so unprecedented in Indonesia that AFP News claim authorities will try cloud-seeding in attempt to defuse rain-ladened clouds away from Jakarta, where they fear flooding will endanger some 20 million people.

Snow blankets palm trees in Jerusalem, writes Sarah Lyall in ‘Heat, Flood or Icy Cold, Extreme Weather Rages Worldwide:’  “Around the world, extreme has become the new commonplace,” she argues.

As Lovejoy insists: “The situation is pretty much an endgame. Unless pressing issues of the biology of the planet and of climate change . . . are addressed with immediacy and at appropriate scale, the matters that occupy Davos discussions will be seen in retrospect as largely irrelevant.”

Too bad so few acknowledge that endgame, including in the United States where hundreds of Hurricane Sandy victims still live in heatless, lightless houses or in temporary FEMA-provided shelters.  As 1 Peter 4: 7 says in used Christian Bibles: “But the end of all things is at hand.”  Yet our leaders fiddle while their negligence destroys the planet.

Mali, the United States and France’s Post-Colonial Rule

posted by Ida B. Wells IV @ 0:46 AM
January 29, 2013

The American people, and their leaders need to think long and hard before joining the French army in fighting against Islamic militants who have invaded Northern Mali.  Calling themselves Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and Ansar Dine, and overcoming the Mali military, they have installed Shariah law.

Finally as Islamists pushed further south, the Mali government and other African leaders have persuaded the United Nations, and France in particular, to take up arms.  And France called on its ally, the United States, to provide transportation through the U.S. Air Force.

While France began fighting in Mali on January 11, this week, in C-17 Globemaster III transport jets, flying for the U.S. Africa Command, our Air Force began carrying French soldiers and military equipment from Istres, France to Bamako, Mali.

Moreover, according to ‘Air Force Delivers French Troops to Mali,’ by Air Force Staff Sgt. Nathanael Callon, “the United States deployed airmen from the 621st Contingency Response Wing from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., and multiple C-17 aircrews to a French air base here.

“Cargo and equipment are prepared by the French, and load plans are given to the U.S. aircraft commander for review, said Maj. Eric Chabaud, Chief of Aircraft Services here for the French Air Force.”  So if France has an Air Force, why does it need help from the U.S.?

Academics who know the true history of France in Africa, and of the so-called ‘end of colonialism,’ remain skeptical of France’s interest in Mali and of its intentions.  And they send warnings to the U.S. government to be very cautious.

Aware that France’s rule over some African nations has never ended, they point out that France, and other European nations, imposed borders on African nations, based in the natural wealth in areas most valued by colonizers, often dividing tribes, and geographical histories without regard to African cultures.

Instead African states, trying to accommodate ‘ex-colonists,’ must speak French, as well as their own and other tribal dialects. And like Spain’s continuing grip over South America, France controls the economies of Mali and other nations of that continent through local puppet governments and French monetary systems.

As Prof. Bronwyn Winter of the University of Sydney writes:  “French interests in the region are no doubt economic as much as political. Apart from some 6,000 French citizens living in Mali and a significant Malian diasporic population in France, this former French colony is Africa’s third gold producer as well as the site of as-yet unexploited uranium, gas and petroleum reserves.”

Bible commentators argue that the U.S. is not mentioned in Scripture as participating in WWIII, but this is how it could happen: we choose to enter a battle which is not our own.  Put this on plus size Christian t-shirts for soldiers, generals and  politicians:  “Wisdom is better than weapons of war (Ecclesiastes 9:18).”

War with Japan May Avert Chinese Leaders From Unrest At Home

posted by admin @ 7:00 AM
January 25, 2013

Newspapers in China are on strike, foreign journalists suffer ill treatment,  that nation’s air-filled smog sickens many of her citizens,  Christians there endure rejection and persecution, its Hong Kong islands demand their freedom, and its academicians warn that unless Chinese leaders change, they face strong revolts.

Global Post reports that ‘Southern Weekend,’ “one of China’s most liberal newspapers, held a rare protest against government interference with the press.”  On strike, the paper and its supporters demand true freedom of the press.

For the new year, the government replaced the paper’s editorial with an item praising Communist Party achievements.  The news staff claims that last year more than 1,000 of their articles were censored. They say “enough is enough!”

When Berhard Zand, a German reporter for ‘Der Spiegel,’ entered China to investigate the deaths of five boys in Bijie, Guizhou province, he interviewed the Chinese journalist who wrote the story about their deaths and China’s lack of a social safety net.  After their meeting, that journalist was jailed.  Zand was followed constantly. And villains erased files from the computer in his hotel room.

Last week, the air in Beijing and other parts of China became so polluted that even Community Party propaganda officials published the truth, trying to explain why so many people must wear masks daily.  Lung disease in China in up 60%, and ambient air pollution kills thousands of citizens there annually.

Chinese officials see Christianity as a possible disruptive and dangerous force.  Rather than letting the Vatican or Protestant denominations pick priests and pastors for Chinese churches, the government places its own people in parishes.  But now a quasi-Christian cult called ‘Eastern Lightning,’ which bases its authority on Matthew 24: 7, has sprung up to challenge Communist authority.  Based on a tenet that Christ is a woman, the group strongly attacks its atheist government.

Alas, China’s sprawling government is also besieged by tens of thousands marching for freedom from Communist rule in Hong Kong.  Marchers demand freedom from Beijing’s oversight and the right to choose their own leaders.

With warnings that such massive dissatisfaction from many quarters will eventually lead to whole scale revolt, AFP News Service quotes an open letter from 71 top academics in China’s universities:
“If urgent systematic reforms needed by Chinese society continue to suffer setbacks and stagnate, then official corruption and social dissatisfaction will boil up to a crisis point.  China will once again miss the opportunity for peaceful reform, and slip into the turbulence and chaos of violent revolution.”

Yes, a ‘hot’ war with Japan might extinguish such fires of civil rebellion.  But as wholesale Christian Bibles ask:  “Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? (Luke 14: 31-32).  Hmmm.  Some choice! Should a nation fall from within or from without?

Two Comets Flying Swiftly Toward Earth May Bring Surprises

posted by Newsworthy and Seerfar @ 11:02 AM
January 24, 2013

Astronomers and other scientists are quite enamored with the possibilities of what two comets flying through space heading quickly toward Planet Earth may bring.  To arrive near earth this year, Comet ISON and Comet PANSTARRS are expected to shine brighter than Earth’s present moon.

Writing for The Science, Jim Colyer reveals that the name of Comet ISON “is an acronym for International Scientific Optical Network.”  Expected to peak in earth’s view by November, ISON is expected shine greatly.

In ‘Comet ISON and Comet PANSTARRS Will Make 2013 One Bright Year,’ Keerthi Chandrashekar of the L.A. Times lauds Vitaly Nevsky and Artyom Novichonok for discovering ISON.

Keerthi writes of ISON, “the Comet ISON will be visible in the northern hemisphere in late 2013. ISON will make a close pass by the sun, then sling around to pass Earth. All one has to do is look up to see it––the comet should be noticeable with the naked eye even during the day around late November. At night, ISON is expected to be brighter than the full moon.”

However, Comet PANSTARRS will be near Earth as early as March.  Its name “is an acronym for Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System, an array of telescopes and cameras in Hawaii, where the comet was discovered,” writes Colyer. adds further Comet ISON will approach the Sun from November to January, 2014, at which time “it is predicted to be brighter than the full moon in the nights sky, and to even be visible in broad daylight.”

Comet PANSTARRS will not be as bright, but it will still be seen near the sun. says that this comet seems to follow a very large and long orbit, and that it must have taken millions of years to come near Earth from the Oort Cloud, which supposedly is a part of the original protoplanetary disc that formed the sun and this part of the universe some 4.6 billion years ago.

However, Drs. Jael and Reprieslty see these comets as allegorical representations of The Second Coming of The LORD Jesus Christ to our Planet Earth.  Just as John the Baptist came before The LORD Jesus at His First Coming, a few Christians warn listeners to hastily prepare for His next arrival by turning to God with true repentance.

Of course, God the Father may be seen as that Oort Cloud from Which this part of the universe sprang forth.  Likewise Comet PANSTARRS could stand for John the Baptist who called on all men to repent just as these ministers do now.

That both comets will be easily seen is mindful of the Book of Revelation:
“Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen (1: 7).” Yes, it is best that men and women turn to God now with full heart and soul.  After all, these two comets may indeed be more than allegories!

Deadly Frigid Cold Over U.S. May Last For Weeks

posted by Sarah N Worthy IATTWJ Member @ 10:08 AM
January 23, 2013

Unusually frigid cold weather, often below zero, has attacked parts of the United States and Europe, and it may last for weeks.  Further, these low temperatures in the U.S. northeast and Midwest may soon include freezing snow.

Weather experts from Climate Central claim this horrid weather first formed in outer space:  “An unusual event playing out high in the atmosphere above the Arctic Circle is setting the stage for what could be weeks upon weeks of frigid cold across wide swaths of the U.S., having already helped to bring cold and snowy weather to parts of Europe.”

Meteorologists refer to this anomaly as a “sudden stratospheric warming event.”  They theorize that these temperatures congealed in the high heavens earlier this month, but they have just now reached earth.

In ‘Nasty Cold Wave Heading for Part of the U.S.,’ AccuWeather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski warns:  “The stratosphere is located between 6 miles and 30 miles above the ground. Often when this occurs, it forces cold air to build in the lowest layer of the atmosphere then to drive southward . . .

“Discharges of the cold air can continue for weeks and shift from one part of the continent to another over time. . . . Because of the time of year, some locations (the northern part of the Great Basin and northern New England) may hold on to the cold they have now due to long nights, light winds and weak sunshine. However, most locations will experience an upswing in temperature for at least a several-day period.”

Extinction Protocol enjoins: “The ongoing event favors colder and possibly stormier weather for as long as four to eight weeks after the event, meaning that after a mild start to the winter, the rest of this month and February could bring the coldest weather of the winter season to parts of the U.S., along with a heightened chance of snow.”

Expert Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson throws in the midst of these worrisome forecasts:  “Initially, the cold may seem to be run-of-the-mill or even delayed, but once the cold air engine starts, it may run for quite a while with progressively colder and colder waves of air.”

One must wonder about the homeless people in our nation, and the victims of Hurricane Sandy who lived so long without electricity or heat.  Most shelters allow these unfortunate ones only to spend the night.  But at morning light they must leave.  Oh pray for the destitute in our nation and in Europe who struggle to exist in such excruciating weather.

Lets us follow instructions in Christian messages and repent asking God to take such weather back into the upper atmosphere:  “He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?  He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, [and] the waters flow (Psalm 147: 17 – 18).

New Staff Member: Alarming Rise of Sinkholes Around the World

posted by Newsworthy and Seerfar @ 18:24 PM
January 21, 2013

Sarah Newsworthy:  As we are all so overloaded, Jael has instructed us to expand our staffs.  Please allow me to introduce Jim Seerfar, our new reporter on sun, moon, stars, comets, planetary movements, UFOs, and new earth phenomenon.  Jim recently came from one of the many U.S. newspapers that have laid off reporters who work on Global Warming and changes in the heavens.

Jim Seerfar:  Thank you Sarah.  It is a privilege to join this fine staff.  We see many important signs of the end of earth as we know it, as well as among the planets, stars and other movements in outer space.

In ‘Is the Main-stream Media Ignoring America’s Sinkhole Epidemic?’ Extinction Protocol (EP) insists that sinkholes in this country and around the world should garner more news coverage:

“Flammable craters spanning acres wide and leaking radiation, monster sinkholes described as ‘apocalyptic’ have forced residents out of homes, expelled radiation into the environment, and are now ushering in concerns about serious Earth changes in the near future.”

Info Wars adds:  “ . . . the scale of these sinkholes, behemoth anomalies that can swallow up 100 foot trees, houses, with the latest Ohio sinkhole devouring 4 football fields of land.”

EP, Info Wars, Bloomberg News, Investment Watch, and other science and environmental reports conclude that in the United States, “ . . . even beyond the dangers posed by these radiation-leaking sinkholes, is how man-made processes like fracking and excessive drilling are changing the planet on a larger scale.”

This week, Ian Jones of MSN News says that in a small village in China 20 sinkholes have opened up in the last five months collapsing houses and drying up rivers––each time without warning.

Further, ‘Nibiru Planet X Tunnel Collapse, Train Derailments, Sinkholes and More are Signs of the Polar Shift’ concludes that these ground collapses signal shifts within earth itself:  “As the amount of major sinkholes, bridge and tunnel collapses and train derailments increase around the world, the excuses and weak explanations are used over and over again stretching the public’s credibility in our governments officials and so-called experts.”

That author lists scores of ‘natural disasters’ around the planet that actually result from earth’s polar shift realignments.  And like EP, Info Wars and others, that writer claims governments are deliberately misinforming world populations.

Newsworthy:  In wholesale Christian Bibles, sinkholes speak of judgment and death.  In Number, chapter 16, Korah led a revolt against Moses, and God opened a huge sinkhole that swallowed the rebels, their families and all their stuff:

“ . . . the ground clave asunder that was under them: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, . . . and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, . . .”  So know God now!

Blood, Guns or Money: Which Do Gun Companies Value? Pt 3

posted by Jael Ever @ 20:53 PM
January 20, 2013

Thankfully, there is still more than one way to skin a cat––or in this case ‘skin’ gun manufacturers profits.  After the Sandy Hook massacre, across the country––States, cities, teachers unions, churches, universities, etc.––are divesting their retirement funds from gun manufacturing companies.

For instance, when the California State Teacher’s Retirement System pension fund (CalSTRS) announced it was reviewing its $ 750 million in Cerberus Capital Management, that fund told PR Newswire:  “we have determined to immediately engage in a formal process to sell our investment in Freedom Group.”

Freedom Group describes itself as the largest firearms maker in the United States.  Its stock value, as well as that of other manufacturers dropped drastically in the last month.  The ‘Washington Post’ reports:

“Smith & Wesson dropped 5.2 percent to close Monday at $8.65, extending its slide to 9.3 percent over two days after Friday’s massacre. Sturm Ruger has fallen 7.8 percent during the period, while Cabela’s, an outdoor-gear retailer that sells guns and ammunition, slumped 7.3 percent.”

It turns out that in addition to votes for gun-control politicians and financial support for such national advocates, ordinary Americans have additional power.  Harry Keiley, a high school teacher with the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and chairman of the board’s investment committee, told

“I sat there with all of my thoughts and feeling very powerless knowing that I don’t sit on the Supreme Court, I don’t cast a vote in the United States Congress, I don’t sit in the state Legislature. I’m a school teacher and dad. And then it dawned on me … that I and this board are not powerless.”

Advising divestment, New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio told Associated Press (AP):  “It’s a bad investment to put money behind companies that put military-grade weapons on our streets and refuse to take responsibility for the outcome.  We should not be giving capital to an industry that is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans each year . . . it’s our moral responsibility.”

While its teachers’ unions are already divesting, other N.Y. City employees––i.e. police, firefighters, clerks, etc.––spoke to AP about dropping foreign gun makers as well:

“The city’s pension funds, worth $127.8 billion, have nearly $18 million invested in Brazilian gun maker Forjas Taurus, which sells the Taurus line of firearms in the U.S.; nearly $14 million in Olin Corp; $2 million in Sturm Ruger; and $1.7 million in Smith & Wesson.”

One wonders if those who make, sell and buy guns truly understand the depth of anger Americans feel about their trade that ends in the deaths of thousands of our citizens each year.  As used Christian Bibles state:  “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course (Psalms 37: 9).”  Actions by these cities, unions, etc. may help to put those societal foundations back in place.

Animal Story Reports: Poachers Killing Elephants and Rhinos

posted by Newspaper Boys @ 0:45 AM
January 17, 2013

John J. Jr.:  Dr. Jael, Rev. Repriestly and Sarah Newsworthy have asked everyone to think about reorganizing work loads and expanding staffs if needed. So they said we could start an Animal Story Updates by Newspaper Kids division.

Allie:  Well Sissy wants to tell about cows tails falling off, birds having funerals and people stealing land from bees, but I think we should do a special Newspaper Kids edition on elephant and rhino poaching in Africa.

Sissy:  This absolutely ain’t fair.  She can’t talk about what I want.  Besides, Andy and I want to be bosses of the animal division, and not Allie!

John J. Jr.:  Oh come on.  You start this again Sissy and the grown-ups will fire us quick.  Allie, you start the story on elephants, and Sissy, you and Andy work on our next edition.  And no more back-scrapping.  We ain’t enemies.  We work together for God.  Remember what our plus size Christian t-shirts say about that.

Allie:  Well, everyone knows poachers are killing elephants and rhinos to get their ivory tusks.  But late last year, the number of these animal murders greatly increased.  African game police and poachers even die in gun fights.

Farley:  And there is so much undercover dirty dealing in governments, no one seems to really protect the animals.  And now United Press International (UPI) says “heavily armed African rebels and militias . . . use profits from the illegal poaching and sale of ivory to fund wars across the continent.”

Allie:  Yes the UPI story says these groups killing God’s precious animals to extinction “include the Islamist al-Shabaab of Somalia; the Janjaweed tribal warriors of Sudan and the Lord’s Resistance Army of Uganda who have turned the savannah of central and southern Africa into what the German news magazine Der Spiegel calls “a Killing Fields for elephants.”

Sissy:  Why, this is awful.  They’re killing innocent animals to get money to go kill people.  John, we must do something!  What can we do?

Farley:  These ivory tusks are going to Asia, particularly to China and Thailand where two pounds of ivory can sell for $ 2,000 on illegal black markets.
Druggists and people in those countries think ground-up ivory can heal people, but our government’s health people say they can’t heal anything.

Allie:  And now they’re shooting these poor animals down from overhead in helicopters, sometimes wiping out entire family herds.  Police find 10 to 15 dead animals bunched together dead, with their tusks cut out.

Sissy:  Come on John.  Say something.  We have to act now against this!

John J. Jr.:  Well, one thing we can write our U.S. Senators and ask them what is being done among nations to stop it, you know if international police can work on this problem.  Also we can raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund.  The WWF is doing all it can to stop the ivory trade destroying these animals forever.

Sissy:  O.k.  Great.  That’s a start.  Let’s get to work!

Blood, Guns or Money: Which Do Americans Value Most? Pt 2

posted by Jael Ever @ 10:20 AM
January 16, 2013

Only because of the Sandy Hook massacre have many weakness of federal and state gun laws become public. To remedy these glaring neglects, politicians and private organizations urgently need strongly voiced support from Americans.

Major weaknesses include the: 1) Six years in which Congress has blocked the appointment of a head for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF);  2) Looping holes avoiding background checks of criminal or mentally ill buyers in private exchanges or at gun shows; 3) Insufficiency of national data on gun purchases; and 4) Rampant illegal gun trafficking across states and venues.

The first three of these issues are undoubtedly included in upcoming recommendations.  However, gun trafficking may not be part of present plans.  A New York Times editorial, ‘The Bid to Stop Gun Trafficking,’ insists better gun control must include a crack-down on the easy exchange of guns:

“Notably missing is a concerted crackdown on illegal gun trafficking. . . final recommendations should include a measure to stem the illegal gun trade and make it easier for law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute gun traffickers and the straw buyers and rogue dealers who enable them.”  The editorial explains the ATF needs authority to impose penalties, and additional manpower to for inventory checks of gun dealers suspected of abetting gun trafficking.

Representative Elijah Cummings, Ranking Member of the Committee on Insight and Government Reform, defines gun trafficking as: “the transfer of a gun when an individual knows the gun will be transferred to a person who is prohibited by law from carrying a gun or to a person who intends to use the gun illegally.”

Mr. Cummings and Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney introduced in Congress the ‘Stop Gun Trafficking and Strengthen Law Enforcement Act.’  If passed, the legislation would criminalize such ‘straw purchases’ and “keep high-powered firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals.”  New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is to introduce a similar bill in the Senate.

In ‘Scientists Urge End to Limits on Gun Safety,’ Reuters writes that the National Rifle Association prevents research by “more than a hundred scientists from virtually every major U.S. university” to propose solutions for gun violence.

These scientists write:  “While mortality rates from almost every major cause of death declined dramatically over the past half century, the homicide rate in America today is almost exactly the same as it was in 1950 . . . Politically-motivated constraints left the nation ‘muddling through’ a problem that costs American society on the order of $100 billion per year.”

Such obstructions have only led to abominably increasing death rates.  Bible prophecies promise:  “ . . . The LORD cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain (Isaiah 26: 21).”  Until He comes, honorable Americans must attack all sources of gun death rates or share in that punishment!
