Outrageous! West Nile Virus Still Rising AGAIN!

Well it looks like the states––and not the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)––are right!  West Nile Virus cases, and especially deaths from West Nine are increasing, not falling.

While the CDC has insisted for weeks that case rates are decreasing and would continue to go down as the weather cooled, several states have countered that CDC’s forecast was inaccurate, as they see cases increasing––including high numbers of nerve damage illnesses––as well as the number of West Nile deaths.

U.S. News and World Report writes today that the CDC admits West Nile cases and deaths are up:  “The number of new West Nile virus cases continued to rise in the past week, and the death toll now stands at 163, up from 147 last week, U.S. health officials reported Wednesday.

“As of Tuesday, 48 states had reported West Nile infections in people, birds, or mosquitoes. A total of 3,969 cases involved people. Of these cases, 2,010 (51 percent) were classified as neuroinvasive disease (such as meningitis or encephalitis) and 1,959 (49 percent) were classified as non-neuroinvasive disease.”

In an article they title, ‘Unpredictable and Difficult to Control — The Adolescence of West Nile Virus , Doctors L.R. Petersen and M. Fischer report this week in the Journal of the American Medical Association:

“The current outbreak of West Nile virus is on track [as] the largest ever recorded.  Future inquiry will . . . focus on untangling the confluence of ecologically interrelated drivers responsible for the outbreak. And timely national surveillance is required.”  They report that the U.S. is the hardest-hit country in the continent:  “Until this year’s resurgence, many experts questioned whether West Nile virus would remain a substantial public health concern.”

The ‘confluence of ecologically interrelated drivers’ is code wording for Global Warming.  The doctors write: “Amplification of West Nile virus . . . depends on several critical factors . . . influenced by the weather . . . March through August 2012 was the hottest on record for similar periods over the past 118 years.”

They also discuss the federal government’s quandary for “implementing costly emergency mosquito-control measures in the face of conflicting public demands for taking action and avoiding insecticide use. Aerial spraying often meets with considerable public consternation. . . . West Nile virus will cause sporadic cases and unpredictable outbreaks . . . for decades to come.  Clearly, a long-term perspective is necessary.”

Our country must face this result of Global Warming, as it will bring more deadly diseases, destructive weather and other planet erosions.  Wholesale Christian Bibles warn:  “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin (James 4: 17).”
