Our Future Food: Massive Fish Kills Near the U.S. Capitol, Part 3

    Just when I thought we had written the last blog about dead fish in oceans and lakes, Dr. Jael rushes a press release about a gigantic pile of dead fish found on shores near the capitol city of this United States.  So one more ‘dead fish’ story.  But this one calls for states and localities to immediately act to stop fish kills.

In his story for The Baltimore Sun, “Fish Kills Grow in Algae-Tainted Waters,” Timothy B. Wheeler writes:  “Something’s rotten on the Baltimore area waterfront. Fish are washing ashore by the thousands in a mass die-off that officials say appears to be caused by a weather-driven worsening of the pollution that chronically plagues the Chesapeake Bay.”

Officials estimate that between 60,000 to 100,000––and possibly even more––dead fish now float in bays and creeks throughout the state of Maryland.
Investigators also found that there was little oxygen in Maryland’s deepest waters.

As I have been insisting all week, fish kills indicate sick water.  And sick water is a major threat to public health.  With industrial pollution, we not only kill our future food, we are killing our water––which means we are killing ourselves.

As further proof, sewage discharges and fertilizer wash offs from farm and lawns joined industrial air pollution to create the rich deadly ‘soup’ initiating these fish kills.  Rogers admits:  “The situation may have been aggravated more recently by a sewer line break in Baltimore County, which spilled an estimated 50 million gallons of untreated sewage into the lower Patapsco River.”

Extinction Protocol 2012 adds that State investigators have expanded their probe “into what they believe are algae-related fish kills in Marley, Furnace and Curtis creeks in Glen Burnie, raising the estimated death toll there tenfold, while finding a new batch of finny carcasses in a Dundalk creek.”

Rob Rogers who works at the Point Pleasant Beach Tavern complained: “You could smell it through the neighborhood.”  He reports that conditions in the nearby creeks are “unbelievable.”  Rogers says that boaters coming into the tavern said that the dead fish in the waters are so thick they could not avoid hitting them.

Wheeler explains:  “The algae turning area waters reddish brown, in what’s often called a ‘mahogany tide,’ is known as prorocentrum minimum, a type that has been known to produce a toxin that can kill shellfish. . . the algae do kill fish indirectly, by consuming the life-sustaining oxygen.”

Governments must act immediately to keep our waters clean, and our fish alive.  Sewage, fertilizer and other deadly scum must be kept out of our waters.  Revelation 8: 11 in used Christian Bibles speaks of wormwood as a spiritual chemical that poisons waters:  “and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters.”  What will it take for the governments of this United States to protect its citizens from poisoned waters?
