Reader’s Request: Winter Record 2010-2011, Part 1

posted by Jael Ever @ 14:39 PM
February 14, 2011

This is the first installment attempting to answer readers’ requests for information this winter’s unusual weather.  As in the case of information on earthquakes, volcano, storms, etc., in 2010, there is little agreement about record-setting in official records on this season’s snow, ice, odd weather combinations and extremely low temperatures.  Most available data is anecdotal, and limited to various regions of the United States.  This site reported earlier on unusual snow in the Pacific Northwest.  National Geographic adds that, “Some cities in the northeastern U.S. have already experienced record snowfall, such as Philadelphia, which has received 37 inches (91 centimeters) of the white stuff this winter, and New York City, which has seen 56 inches (142 centimeters).”

Also, earlier this month the second of two powerful blizzards ran through the mid-west dumping over two feet of snow.  Trucks, busses and cars were stuck for hours in freeways to such an extend that drivers and passengers sought shelter from local governments. The same storms moved as far south as Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana––areas where people are not accustomed to sleet, ice, snow and bitterly cold weather.  The National Weather Service warned that the blizzards hitting Missouri and surrounding Ozark states is expected to be the worst winter storm since 1912.

Most people struggling to stay alive and uninjured this winter are not aware of how this weather is hurting national and local economies.  Airports, schools, colleges and government offices shut down across the nation; mail, merchandize and equipment deliveries are late; and most businesses do not have systems allowing employees to work from home.  Restaurants, malls, hotels and other companies that depend upon customers to drive in, of course, suffer losses.  An economic consulting group insists that “Unplanned absences from weather or other causes last year cost an average of 8.7 percent of an organization’s base payroll.”  They add that these losses add up to hundreds of trillions of dollars over the year.

Of course, if modern life had not tried to skew winter into a season for normal work and everyday living, these results of Global Warming may have been avoided.  Used Christian Bibles illustrates that winter is not to be a normalized season for work or travel.  It is a time for land and man to rest, rejuvenate and stay warm.  The Apostle Paul often writes about finding a safe place to stay for winter during his missionary travels: “And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter . . . (Acts 27: 12).  (See also Matthew 24: 20, Mark 13: 18, 2 Timothy 4: 21, etc.)  But the coming end of the age of oil will soon force return to those days! So stock up on necessities and get ready for next winter!

Prophets of Doom: Water Shortage Greatest Threat

posted by Jael Ever @ 20:46 PM
February 11, 2011

The History Channel, recently presented “Prophets of Doom,” highlighting five scholars who discussed possible sources of a coming Apocalypse: 1) Shrinking oil and natural gas supplies upon which growing world populations depend;  2) Insolvent global financial systems;  3) Nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists; 4) Artificial Intelligent Robots advanced enough to enslave human beings;  and 5) The shrinking supply of fresh water.  The experts include:  Michael Ruppert, Nathan Hagens, John Cronin, James Howard Kunstler, Professor Hugo De Garis and Robert Gleason.  (The program is available for on-line downloading.)

The problem, of course, is that all of these warnings could converge on the earth at one time.  But the experts agreed that the coming shortage of fresh water around the world threatens the element most essential for human life.  Well-published scholar, John Cronin is both Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries and the Senior Fellow for Environmental Affairs at the Pace Academy for Applied Environmental Studies at Pace University.   Cronin stresses three areas in his report as one of the Prophets of Doom:  Not only is fresh water running low, its quality is getting worse,  and as shortages increase, diseases from bad waters will also increase.

Co-author of The Riverkeepers with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Cronin insists that this problem can be solved:  “One billion people are without safe water. We have the know-how and compassion to correct that tragedy, and harmonize forever the human and natural worlds. This is the greatest challenge of the 21st century.”  Cronin has a website,, which publishes “The Blue Times: News From a Blue Planet.”  It includes links to articles on:  declining water supplies; raw sewage and radioactive debris in drinking water; industrial dumping of millions of pounds of toxic waste into these waters; and failures of national and local government agencies to warn citizens of these poisons or to cleanse the water.

This website writes often about the slow death of fresh water around the world.  And these reports from the History Channel’s Prophets of Doom concur with these findings.  This blog will soon discuss the Prophets of Doom other earth-ending possibilities.  For now, it is essential that readers understand Bible prophecies that warn what the dearth of water foreshadows about end times.  The abundance of water symbolizes divine life:  “He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7: 38).  And the dearth of water symbolizes economic collapse,  judgment and eternal death: “Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth” (Nehemiah 5: 3); “We have drunken our water for money . . .” (Lamentations 5: 4a).

Jude Writes Editors: What’s Goin’ On With Winter?

posted by Mr. Jude @ 19:14 PM
February 8, 2011

What in the world’s going on?  Birds fallin’ out skies and nobody knows why?  Didn’t one o’  them doctors Jael writes ‘bout say its from cell phone waves? What he sayin’ now?  Then there’s poisons in ours drinkin’ waters!  Bedbugs c’aint be killed!  En, from what I reads in Jael’s reportin’, it looks to me like Aussie’s comin’ all aparts.  Hey, that’s suppose to be a rich country, ain’t it?  Then I sees 2010 settin’ all kinds of records on Global Warmin’, as if we’s livin through it didn’t already know that!  ‘En that blog message ‘bout Napoleon and Hitler, that a third and worser of them guy is comin’ –– that’s really scary.

What’s I’s writin’ bout now is this––what’s going on wi’ this here snow?  Jael ain’t writtin’ much bout it.  Fore winter we did a lot on gettin ready for it and we sent in reports to you guys and all.  Now I’s doin’ all I can to shovel my walks and parkin’ places,  and a lot of us got our street organized so that we can help other peoples, widows ‘en all, keep their spaces shoveled.  Me and other fellas on the block’s got those snow blowers, and we use ‘em to helps others who don’t.

But other streets is a mess.  En if me and other good mens on the block didn’t keep at it hours a day, ours would be too.  Sometimes people can’t even go to work.  Freeways meanin’ nothin.’  I even saw where peoples livin’ in Chicago were stuck for hours tryin’ to get home from work.  And they all finally just left ‘em there in the road and walked away.  Pictues on T.V. with dozens and dozens of cars froze in place.  Them newspapers says parts of Texas ain’t seen such snow before.  Don’t you know it just keeps snowing and snowing!  En’ I don’ts cares bout what no dumb ground hog says.  Seems like this winter ain’t ne’er bein’ over.

What I wants to know now is why ain’t Jael writtin’ stuff ‘bout this winter?   I’s been searching papers and the net and thar don’t seem to be much ‘bout it bein’ a record winter.  But look!  I knows this ain’t no reguler winter.  And I wants to know why!  I suspec’ its somethin’ to do with Global Warming.  I sure hopes Jael and them other women is workin’ on this story! If we’s don’t get a handle on this stuff, we could be goin’ the way of Australia with all the weather hittin’ at once!

I’s tryin’ ta think bout summer ‘cause I’m drawin up special pictures to send to wholesale Christian t-shirts so they can make ‘em special for everyone to wear to our block parties ‘en picnics this summer.  So I just close my eyes and think summer, summer, summer.  But it ain’t working.  When I open ‘em, its still snow, snow, snow and this long, long winter everywhere piled up!

Uncle Sam Killing the Birds!! Say It Isn’t So!!

posted by admin @ 18:45 PM
February 7, 2011

Dispatch from Ally I. Feermeno.

Details have just been released on probable truth behind mysterious birds falling from the skies by the thousands:  Uncle Sam is somewhat responsible!  The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been killing bird’s en-masse over America’s skies for some 50 years!  In fact, USDA is under contract with some farmers to do what they call “bird control.”  But the agency says it is not responsible for the 20,000 birds dropping dead in Arkansas recently!

USDA admitted using DRC-1339, an avicide poison, to cull as many as 5,000 birds in Nebraska last month because the birds were using cattle feed to discharge feces.  That time, so many birds fell out of the skies that their bodies crossed the state line and fell in South Dakota.   Starting in the 1960s, in a program it labeled “Bye Bye Blackbird,”  USDA has euthanized more than 4 million birds, including red-winged blackbirds, starlings, cowbirds, and grackles.
That agency allows anyone who claims that certain birds pose health risks or cause claimants economic damage to kill bird flocks––and most of the time those making such claims do not need permits.  Claimants, usually farmers, may also hire private contractors to kill birds for them.  These contractors do not have to keep records or report the number of birds they kill to anyone.

As for the thousands of birds mysteriously dropping dead in Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, etc., in the last few months––nobody knows.  In fact, the U.S. Geological Service website claims there were some 90 mass bird deaths in the U.S. in the latter half of 2010.  Governmental and animal-protective agencies give all kinds of excuses for these alarming number of bird deaths: poison by private contractors; fireworks; usually intelligent birds flying into objects; harsh winters; wet weather; drowning; starvation; diseases; parasites; viruses; rabies; pollution, etc.  Most surprisingly, the American Bird Conservancy has recently charged that bird populations are declining in the U.S. because of vastly multiplying marauding populations of feral cats driving hundreds of millions of birds into extinction.  With Jael’s permission, I will report on that organization’s claim in a future report.

Sandra Repriestly, President of the International Association of Truth Telling Women Journalists, insists that we measure the worth of our reporting with God’s Word.  She would say that birds are God’s creation, that He cares for them just as He cares for human beings. In what can now be seen as Bible prophecies, Jesus teaches:  “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father” (Matthew 10: 29); and “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God (Luke 12: 6)?”  Those who know the Bible understand that needlessly killing birds incurs the awesome wrath of God, and that it will bring ultimate judgment to those who do it, and to the nation that condones it!

Bedbugs Trump Science: They Can’t Be Killed!

posted by Jael Ever @ 11:31 AM
February 5, 2011

Looks like science has met its match:  The Bedbug!  Scientific studies from various universities now report that bedbugs have developed such resistance to man-made chemicals that it is impossible to kill them!  According to a recent issue of the Wall Street Journal, Entomologists from Ohio State University, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, the University of Kentucky, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Tuebingen in Germany and other researchers from the United States, Europe and Africa––all acknowledge that, if men don’t develop better attacks against these pests, Bedbugs Will Defeat the Human Race!

These insect researchers claim that bedbugs now have stronger defenses against man-made deterrences in three  ways:  1)  Better enzymes that can detoxify pesticides; 2) Thicker outer exoskeleton layers to block insecticides; 3) Mutated cells able to withstand pesticide toxics.  It seems that one generation of these spunky bugs pass secrets of resistance to the next generation.  Oh, and yes, of course, it is man’s fault: Dini Miller at Virginia Tech explains that  by trying to kill these bugs in the first place, people have changed their genetic make-up.

Of course, as in too many other modern systems, money could solve the problem.  Apparently the market for  insecticides is too small, while the cost of development, testing and governmental approval is too high for investment in the research needed to kill these pests once and for all.  Hmm.  Wonder when it will become important enough to fund research since ever-stronger bugs are now found in schools, apartment buildings, department stores, camp sites and hotels, etc.

In fact Amy Steinberg of reveals that that “the bedbug population has increased by nearly 500 percent in North America. . . . and that the insects can now survive a pesticide dose 1,000 times greater than in decades past.”  She lists the ten top bedbug infested cities as: Cincinnati, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois; Denver, Colorado; Detroit, Michigan; Washington, D.C.; New York, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Dayton, Ohio; and Baltimore, Maryland.  In fact, Ted Strickland, outgoing Governor of Ohio, laments  in the Columbus Dispatch that the Environmental Protection Agency will not approve sufficient use of the pesticide Propoxur because it may be more harmful to humans than bedbugs.

Hmm again.  Its time for people in government and industry to “man-up” against these tiny bug armies.  Wholesale Christian Bibles says that in the last days at least one-sixteenth of the world’s nine billion people will be destroyed by beasts:  “And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth (Revelation 6: 8b).”  Right now it seems logical that at least one set of those beasts will be bedbugs!

Heat Waves: Global Warming Records in 2010, Part 5

posted by Jael Ever @ 12:34 PM
February 3, 2011

Think last year had entirely too many heat waves?  Well stick around! 2011 may well be filled with them.  Stanford University researchers explain, “Devastating heat waves that result in fatalities and crop losses may increasingly become a common occurrence in the United States over the next three decades.”  They expect the kind of heat waves in this country that swept across Europe and Russia recently.  A look back at 2010, gives an accurate picture of what to expect.

According to the Los Angeles Press:  L.A. had its hottest day in recorded history on Sept. 27: 113 degrees.  And The Week reports that Houston had its hottest month ever in August of 2010:  “While Houston’s residents are used to hot days, they’ve never seen heat like this, with an average temperature of 87.8 degrees.”  Last May, 129 degrees set a record for Pakistan and may have been the hottest temperature recorded in an inhabited location.  The Week says that 2010 saw the hottest months in world history:  “June 2010 was the warmest month ever recorded on planet Earth. The previous mark had been set in May. The mark before that had been set in April. The one before that in March. Sense a trend?”

In discussing the Top Ten Global Weather Events of 2010, a panel of weather and climate experts put the Russian-European-Asian Heat Waves as the Number One Global Warming event of last year.  In Russia 15,000 people died from heat waves that caused drought, wildfires and crop failures.  “The worst drought conditions since 1972 destroyed 22 million acres (nine million hectares), an estimated 20 percent of the nation’s crops, including grain, vegetable, and fodder, prompting Russia to ban exports. Additionally, a state of emergency was declared as 948 forest fires covering 64,000 acres (26,000 hectares) were burning in 18 provinces.”  In China, drought caused by heat waves, killed several million hectares of crop and dried up important sources of drinking water, leaving 50 million people scrambling for enough water to stay alive.  The World Health Organization reports that the same heat wave that suffocated Russia, caused the floods that submerged large portions of Pakistan eventually killing 1700 people, and displacing 20 million more.

Another well known spiritual found among hymn collections in wholesale Christian books is “He’s Got The Whole World in His Hands.” Most assume the “he” is God; but, as Genesis reveals, since the fall of man, the earth has been in the hand of Satan’s forces.  However, the sons and daughters of God, Redeemed by Christ Jesus, have the power to defeat these forces IF they start praying and exercising Christ’s authority on earth:  “Behold, I give unto you power . . . over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means harm you” (Luke 10: 19).  Christians must send the heat of hot prayers against the evil designs of Satan’s hosts to destroy mankind with unrelenting heat waves from Global Warming.

Deaths From Natural Disasters: 2010 Global Warming Records, Pt 4

posted by Jael Ever @ 17:14 PM
February 2, 2011

Another record broken last year is the number of people killed by natural disasters. According to the United Nations, a record 373 natural disasters killed 296,800 in 2010. UN officials claim the major causes were: mass urbanization, environmental degradation and climate change. Yet Margareta Wahlstrom, U.N. Assistant Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, insists that these factors will only worsen in the coming years, and 2010 will one day be seen as benign. The World Health Organization (WHO) claims that Global Warming now contributes to more than 150,000 deaths around the world. But the Global Humanitarian Forum, headed by former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, sets that number as high as 300,000 deaths per year caused by Global Warming.

The average number of major disasters a year for decades in this country has been 34. But last year broke that record: FEMA declared a record number of major disasters as 79 in the United States. Some researchers declare that more people around the world were killed last year by natural disasters than by terrorist attacks in the last four decades. The WHO reports that flooding alone killed 6,300 people in 59 nations. According to Agence France-Press (AFP), “The earthquake in Haiti in January was by far the worst disaster in terms of human cost, killing 222,570 people. Some 56,000 died in a combination of heatwaves and forest fires in Russia. The other most destructive events were an earthquake in China in April that killed 2,700, floods in Pakistan between July and September that cost 1,760 lives and August floods in China in which 1,470 perished.”

Agreeing with Dr. Wahlstrom, Roger Bilham from the University of Colorado, adds that the world’s population is moving into riskier megacities on fault zones and flood-prone areas. He figures that 400 million to 500 million people in the world live in large cities prone to major earthquakes. And Rachael Rettner, from LiveScience, adds: “Global disaster death tolls vary greatly year-to-year. But they have also risen over time. Disaster experts say the rise in tragedy is at least partly due to increases in urban populations.”

A famous church spiritual asks, “Where will you be when the world’s on fire?” Whether from floods, earthquakes,  heat waves, hurricanes, forest fires or other massive storms, man-made Global Warming sets the world on fire. In wholesale Christian Bibles, the Apostle Peter writes: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. . . . Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat (2 Peter 3: 10 – 12).” So the question for all to think about is “where will we be when the world’s on fire?”
