People Who Love One Another Help One Another

That’s ok Jude.  We appreciate your prayers.  I do wish you and John would try to get along better.  I’ll pray about that too.  You certainly have a lot of good ideas about getting ready for winter..  And I appreciate all you and John do to help me as I get older.  Thank you so much for digging up my tulip bulbs.  It is so kind of you to plant them in spring and store them for me before winter.  And Jude, you were so gracious to bring me one of those ceramic space heaters from your attic.  I can use it in my bedroom after I turn down the heat at night.  I know we have to be so careful of expensive heating bills this winter.

John went to the hardware store and got one of those special water heater jackets to cover the hot water tank downstairs.   That way hot water won’t cool off so quickly.  And he put a timer on the hot water heater so that it wouldn’t make water hot during the night hours when I’m sleep.  He says he will try to come back later and put insulation on my hot water pipes too.  That will not only save money on energy, it will also help to stop frozen pipes.

And my son and his wife’s brother came over and put insulation in the attic, and caulked up all the cracks around the house.  That should also cut down on those drafts I was feeling so much last winter.   And them two boys put a new  ceiling fan up in the kitchen too.  That fan will not only be good to keep things cooler in the summer.  It will also circulate the heat this winter.

Wow!  That’s wonderful that you know about wholesale Christian sweatshirts.  I got some of their sweat shirt and sweat pants sets to wear outside and indoors too.  And I already started getting gifts for the kids and grand kids there too.  Well, I’ll let you go.  I’ve made some apple pies to go in the freezer for cooking later on this winter.  Remember my brother, to always “fight the good fight of faith” as Paul says in 1 Timothy 6: 12.

“I Started Gettin Ready For Winter in Early Summer”

posted by Mr. Jude @ 12:04 PM
October 16, 2010

I read what John said Bea, and let me say that he is mostly full of his usual foolishness.  And typically for John, he is very late in getting ready for winter.  Jael’s probably right.  Its gonna be a hard, cold winter.  But believe me, I’m ready.

I started doing all those things he talks about early this summer.  Even doing my own canning.  I even froze some of my cooked foods in containers labeled with permanent markers and masking tape.  And every time, I went to the grocery store I looked for things that were on sale for canning or freezing.  And I put a storage shed out back with shelves and cabinets.  So if a power outage comes this winter, I can take the stuff out of the freezer and put it there to stay frozen.

So I can stay healthy this winter, I have exercisers in one of the rooms to stop me from gettin’ lazy and stiff, staying indoors.  Also, by hanging them over fences, I made sure all the water hoses  are thoroughly drained so they won’t freeze or crack.  I store them in sheds for winter.  And all my outside grills and other cookin stuff are covered with strong heavy material so they can survive snow or rain.

Of course, if the weather gets too bad, I seal all rooms but my bedroom, bath and kitchen and I heat them with space heaters.   And if there is a power outage, I have plenty of wood pellets, dried tree branches, and newspaper logs to keep warm by the extra wood stove in the kitchen or fire place where I’ll sleep by in sleeping bags.  Having these substitute heating sources on hand in cold weather really lowers heating costs.  I do other stuff too Bea but I ain’t givin’ folks all my secrets.

Well I guess I’ll go now Bea.  I got my two piece sweat shirt sets to sleep in from wholesale Christian sweatshirts.  And like I said, I’ll pray for you and John and Jael at least.  Like my namesake Jude instructs, I “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (June 1: 3).  God bless.  I’ll see you soon.  Your brother, Jude.

Sinkholes, Global Warming and Absent Media

posted by Jael Ever @ 11:24 AM
October 15, 2010

Another issue national media refuses to explore is the increasing number of sinkholes around the world, especially in the United States. A Christian Blog, The End of the World, reports that 2010 had more sinkholes on record than ever before––the most famous one caused by Tropical Storm Agatha in Guatemala, that swallowed a three-story building. And guess what––in addition to excessive excavation; collapsing caves and mine shafts; cities built on unstable soils; expanding surburbia and overbuilding; heavy rains and extended droughts; and “ghost lakes” formed by clogged water passages––a major reason for increasing sinkholes everywhere is Global Warming.

The U.S. region most famous for sinkhole history is Florida. Sinkholes have destroyed so many homes in this sunshine state that the insurance casualty rate for their damages is second only to that of hurricanes. For that reason, several insurance companies will no longer write policies in Florida. The situation is so dire that state government is considering state-funded insurance protection against sinkholes. Other states are famous for sinkholes as well, including: California, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, etc.

For instance, when discussing Kentucky’s proneness to sinkholes, in their article, “Karst: The Stealthy Hazard,” Jim Cobb and Jim Currens explain that sinkholes are the hidden cost of ignorance about earth’s make up and the dangers of non-urban expansion: “Fifty-five percent of the state of Kentucky sits atop carbonate rocks prone to developing karst. Stressing this delicate carbonate-groundwater system is a growing suburban population that is increasing demand for highways and roads, houses, airports and factories.” They explain that karst is a stealthy geohazard formed when “water dissolves limestone, gypsum and other rocks.” They report that economic losses from karst are hidden and increasing.

As for Global Warming, InspectAPedia explains: “ Acidic rainwater is formed by the interaction of atmospheric moisture with carbon dioxide to form carbonic acid. As global warming is associated with increased atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2), we might expect an increase in the acidity of rainfall that in turn may increase the incidence of sinkholes where carbonate bedrock (limestone) is prevalent.”

However, lost in these conclusions is a Biblical truth: sinkholes are signs of judgement. In Numbers chapter 16, when Korah and his followers rebelled against Moses, “the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses . . . and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, . . .” Be sure to check out this and other examples of sinkhole judgments in wholesale Christian Bibles. It is truly time for prayers of repentance!

Cannin’, Cookin’, and Fixin For Winter

posted by Uncle John @ 17:22 PM
October 14, 2010

That’s ok Bea.  Uncle John here.  Don’t worry about what old Jude’s saying.  I’ll pray with you.  That ole grouch ain’t prayed for nobody but himself for years.  With all that Jael is talking about, its time that we all started praying more anyway.

Say, did you read what she’s  saying about what’s coming this winter?  Boy, that could be scary.  I know you’re canning stuff, setting aside for the winter Bea.  I really enjoyed the tomatoes, beans and corn you sent me last year.  They made great soups to help keep me warm.  I just added some onions and celery––or really whatever veggies were leftover in the fridge––and meat from the freezer, and hmm boy were them soups good!  By the way, I’ve really stocked the freezer so I won’t have to go out much this winter.

And I’m doing everything possible to get ready for winter too.  This is what I mean:  I had Ed’s company come and clean out the chimney flue, and change the filters in the furnace, hot water tank and air ducts.  They also cleaned out the gutters so nothing gets frozen stuck up there and lets water start linking into the walls and basement.  Those boys gonna come and clean off my sidewalks and driveway too when the snow starts, cause it ain’t good for me, a senior citizen, to be out there trying to shovel off that stuff.  Its just too dangerous.

And this summer I used that government grant to put in some of them sun panels on the roof, don’t you know.  That should really cut down on heating bills this winter.   OK Bea I got to go.  I’m going online to buy the grand kids some wholesale Christian gifts for the holidays––the kind that’ll keep ‘em warm.  But don’t worry.  I won’t forget to pray.  Let’s see I’ve got to pray for the kids, and my neighbors, and you and Jael, and yea, even Jude.  And oh yea, the mayor and governor and president . . . .  Goodness, Bea!  So much praying to do!

Bad Winter Coming, More Things To Do

posted by Jael Ever @ 17:22 PM
October 13, 2010

Although the New Farmer’s Almanac says the opposite, government officials expect the coming winter to be rough and cold, especially in the mid-western United States.  These officials insist that a combination of Global Warming and El Nino wind currents will lead to increasingly freezing cold, snow and ice.  According to Joe Bastardi, Chief Long-Range Meteorologist for, “Chicago, Omaha, Minneapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Seattle, Alaska, central Canada and Portland” will receive “the worst of winter’s cold and snow.”

And, discouraging winter travel, Lindsay Godfree, of Cross Country Travel Examiner, expects ice storm damage from Oklahoma to Kansas.  Moreover, predicts that Russia will have its worse winter in 1,000 years.  In addition, the unusually successful forecaster Stephen Adams, also of Arctic Snap, says that Great Britain is “for another bitterly-cold winter, with widespread snow and Siberian temperatures.”

 In view of these dire scientific findings, this blog presents further things to be done in this winter of continuing Global Warming’s traits––i.e. boiling hot summers and freezing-cold winters:  1)  Close off all rooms that will not be used.  Close their heat and air ducts.  Seal their windows and put draft stoppers at their door bottoms; 2) Use rugs, blankets, heavy drapes or other linens to cover windows that are not double paned or air tight.  Try to avoid using plastic panes if possible;  3)  Avoiding heat sources, wrap the hot water tank with blankets or other thick insulation to avoid frozen pipes;  4)  Put towels, rugs, flaps or other types of closures on all under-the-door drafts on all doors leading to the outside;
 5)  Tightly close all outside faucets and wrap them with cloth or insulation to prevent freezing;  6)  Also wrap pipes in basement that are prone to freezing;   7) Put bags of ice in freezer storage areas in case of power outages;  8)  Try to cut down use of the hot water tank by: only wash clothes in cold water; rinsing dishes with hot water warmed on the stove; taking showers instead of baths, etc.  9) Try to use artificial logs, newspaper rolls, discarded wood or other burnable waste in fireplaces.  Clean air demands that healthy trees must remain in place and uncut everywhere possible; 10)  Wear warm layered clothing to stay warm.

Many in the world see winter as a time of death and sorrow.  But the Bible says that winter was made by God (Psalm 74: 17), and is intended to be a blessing: “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8: 22).  So while preparing for the holidays with wholesale Christian gifts, everyone should take precautions to preserve life!  Global Warming won’t last forever, because Jesus is returning soon!

Other Tips to Think Green, Live Green

posted by Jael Ever @ 14:35 PM
October 12, 2010

As the seasons change, everyone thinks of ways to save energy and lessen carbon footprints.  Notice the new cars people are buying lately?  They are smaller with boxed shapes, more compatible with wind flows.  These designs result from government and corporate efforts to cut down carbon emissions.  Other necessary steps demand changes in national economic and cultural priorities.  But tensions arise when people worry that these changes will affect jobs.   Thus, this new era requires workers to retrain in green job skills.  None of this will be easy, but it is necessary if the country does its part to save the planet.

Additional steps that individuals and families can take to help reduce carbon footprints, include:

1) Checking with neighborhood associations to see if there is a ban on drying clothes outside.  Electric and gas clothes dryers use a great deal of energy.  Their use arose when suburban planners demanded uniform “beauty,” and generally banned outside clothes lines.  Community leaders may now resist any changes, but energy-wise citizens should stress necessary priorities at neighborhood meetings on this and other Global Warming issues.

 2)  At those meetings, ask about certification on the quality of the water.  If the water quality meets basic government standards, stop buying bottled water cold turkey.  Or purchase a water purification system that can be attached to kitchen faucets.  And urge everyone else to do the same.  Billions of tons of plastic bottles dumped in oceans interfer with ecosystems, affect healthy air, and kill sea life.
 3)  Leave cars at home.  Use public transportation as often as possible.  Or organize neighborhood carpools for shopping.

4)  Stop purchasing items that are filled with paper and plastic packaging.  And write the producers, asking them to stop excessive use of paper and plastic.  Also urge them to use only recycled packaging.  As an example of this packaging craze, Jaymi Heibuch reports that “of the 66 million tons of solid waste generated by Californians each year, approximately one third is packaging.”  So much of this is just unnecessary waste!

 5)  Try to purchase locally-grown produce.  This will cut down on on cross-country trucking which produces incredible amounts of carbon.

6)  Do not reuse plastic containers from new food purchases.  Most are not suitable for reuse and could be dangerous.

7)  Rather than running hot water continuously when washing dishes,  put all the washed dishes in one place, and  pour the hot water over all of them at one time.   And heat water in a kettle, rather than from the hot water heater.

As they hang Christian childrens t-shirts on outside clothes lines to dry, believers should remember that faith is measured by the love of God shed abroad to others (Romans 5: 5), including the best examples of good stewardship over neighborhoods, nation and Earth.

“No, I Ain’t Prayin For Ne’re One of ‘Em”

posted by Mr. Jude @ 13:52 PM
October 8, 2010

No, Aunt Bea, I’m not praying one minute for any of ‘em.  They know right from wrong just like we do.  They just don’t want to do right.  They know its wrong to let horses go loose in the wild just cause you don’t want to feed ‘em. You got to wonder what did they want with a horse in the first place.  And those breeders know its wrong to ship horses away so they can be sacrificed to let rich people overseas eat horse meat.  That’s just crazy wrong.  And they knows it!

Just like those guys who steal horses to sell them to slaughter houses for $ 300 bucks.  They know its wrong, but they do it anyway cause they wants the money.  Now why am I gonna pray for a person who knows right from wrong and who does wrong just cause they want to!

You’ve got to know those people throwing truck loads of trash in the ocean know its wrong.  But they do it anyway.  And you’ve got to know that those oil people know its wrong to lie about over-heatin’ this here earth just so they can drill for more oil in that ocean out west.

And in this country, as much gospel as we have had over bout 500 hundred years, don’t you think its about time we obeyed it.  No, no I just ain’t with you on praying for a country with God helping us to win not one, but two, world wars.  We were stunned by surprise attacks, out numbered and out gunned, but by His blessing, we won ‘em both anyway.  Cause people was mostly good back then.

Look here Bea, you know that we all know right from wrong.  Its time we kicked the devil in the eye, and did what we know to do right.  And if ‘en we don’t––look out! Cause its time we got our just hard-behind whippin’.

No, just like my namesake Jude says in wholesale Christian Bibles, “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him,” (Jude 1: 14-15).  And that’s what I’m praying Bea,  I’m praying like Apostle John said “Come quickly Lord Jesus. Let’s get it on!”

Scientists Insist: Global Warming Is Real!

posted by Jael Ever @ 14:19 PM
October 7, 2010

Recently the news website, Daily Kos: The State of the Nation, published a list of credible, recognized, research-verified scientific organizations which have issued statements certifying that Climate Change is real, dangerous and man-made.  By the hundreds, or possibly thousands on their membership roles, these scientists insist that Global Warming must be addressed immediately.  Daily Kos interspersed statements from various of these organizations with those of politicians who still deny that Global Warming exists, or who say that if it does exist, there is no proof it is man-made.

The scientific organizations include:  National Academy of Sciences; American Geophysical Union; The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; American Association for the Advancement of Science; Science: Advancing Science and Serving Society; House of Commons Science and Technology Committee;  American Chemical Society; American Meteorological Society; American Physical Society;  American Association for the Advancement of Science; American Chemical Society; American Geophysical Union; American Institute of Biological Sciences; American Meteorological Society; American Society of Agronomy; American Society of Plant Biologists American Statistical Association; Association of Ecosystem Research Centers; Botanical Society of America; Crop Science Society of America; Ecological Society of America; Natural Science Collections Alliance; Organization of Biological Field Stations; Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics; Society of Systematic Biologists; Soil Science Society of America; and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research.

Clarity is urgent in the matter of Climate Change:  These scientists are tops in their fields.  They have been prepared by 12 to 20 years of study in the world’s finest universities––most of which are in the United States.  And most politicians do not have such credentials, or educational requirements, to attain their positions.  Each of these groups of scientists have made their positions on Global Warming clear in detailed joint statements.  While the unqualified politicians have simply said that the science about Global Warming is not clear.

Another area of clarity is urgent: politicians are politicians; scientists are scientists and God is God.  In describing these End Times, God’s Word says:  “And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory (Revelation 16: 9).  Probably the same people who are denying Global Warming today will be blaming God for its damaging effects in the very near future, when the fact is, many of them had the choice to do something about it now!  While wearing new wholesale Christian sweatshirts this fall, please give these matters clear thinking!

Some Knowledge of Space, But None on Saving Whales

posted by Jael Ever @ 16:56 PM
October 6, 2010

Two children recently stood and watched with tears in their eyes as more and more of the 80 beached pilot whales on New Zealand’s shore died.   It was touching to read about so many of New Zealand’s citizens coming from near and far to volunteer in efforts to save the whales.  And such heroism came just after that nation had suffered such devastating earthquakes.

But modern man is still ill-equipped to deal with animal tragedy.  Whales are very social creatures, so in this tragic episode more and more tried to swim close to shore to help those injured by rocks.  When encouraging their fellow pilots to return to sea, the whale rescuers just got hurt themselves.  Many of New Zealand’s volunteers stayed overnight trying to protect the massive animals from strong swells and high winds.  Finally, government workers loaded those animals that could be moved onto trucks so that they could be put out to sea in safer rock-free shores.  But it was far too late for some 60 of the animals that died in tragic sorrow.

It is amazing that mankind presumes to fly into space, but has put no thought into ways to save earth’s animals for which people have been given divine oversight.  Technology and industrial development could long ago have removed those killer rocks.  Research easily could have determined how whales think and react so that man’s ingenuity could help them survive.  Instead governments decided that they need to know more about space––over which they have no covenant rights––than they know about earth.  And disregarding God’s commandment of stewardship over nature, they allow people to needlessly slaughter whales, instead of helping the animals to live joyfully before their God.

In the Old Testament, Jeremiah is known as the Weeping Prophet.  When he tried to warn his nation that disobeying God’s will would ultimately bring wretched judgment, they refused to listen.  So Jeremiah could only cry sorrowfully as he watched his nation fall into defeat and chaos.  Surely, God cried with the prophet as He loved His people and longed that they would return to Him.  And perhaps God cried with those two children on that New Zealand beach, sharing their sorrow and appreciating the innocence of their hearts.
Most people don’t understand the love of God.  Adam and Even lived over 800 years after their failure in the Garden of Eden.  Yet God gave then an additional times––some 130 years––to repent of their great sin that spun humanity into dark travail for eons.  But there is no record that they ever asked to return to His loving grace.  The Bible says: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3: 9).  Nevertheless, Bible prophecies warns that, just as in the Old Testament, God’s long-suffering will at some point come to an end!
