While the video in which he threatens to “start killing people” if the government comes after his guns went ‘internet viral,’  James Yeager, erstwhile firearms instructor from Tennessee, had his license to carry firearms revoked.

The Jackson Sun reports:  “The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security on today announced the suspension of James Yeager’s handgun carry permit.”  It claims the Department’s decision to suspend Yeager’s handgun carry permit is based on a “material likelihood of risk of harm to the public.”

Yeager, age 42, made the video because the federal government is moving to take executive action and/or pass legislation for gun control.  Tennessee Commissioner Bill Gibbons told  “The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public’s safety. Mr. Yeager’s comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention.

“Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail.”  Gibbons cited Tennessee Safety Law TCA 39-17-1352 for support.

As owner of Tactical Response, a firearms and tactical training school in Camden, Tennessee, Yeager’s business––which advertises a ‘staff trained to kill’–– is jeopardized.  Officials insist neither Yeager nor his school is State-certified.

“Yeager has the right to seek review of the department’s decision in the general sessions court of his county of residence or through the Department of Safety and Homeland Security,” The Jackson Sun claims.

Raw adds:  “In a video posted to YouTube and Facebook on Wednesday, . . . Yeager went ballistic over reports that the president could take executive action with minor gun control measures after the mass shooting of 20 school children in Connecticut last month.”

Concerning stricter gun control laws, Raw Story quotes Yeager’s video:  “I’m telling you that if that happens, it’s going to spark a civil war, and I’ll be glad to fire the first shot. I’m not putting up with it. You shouldn’t put up with it. And I need all you patriots to start thinking about what you’re going to do, load your damn mags, make sure your rifle’s clean, pack a backpack with some food in it and get ready to fight.”

After trying to edit the video, Yeager finally took it off the internet. “I was angry when I made the video and probably should have metered my words better. I am not plotting to kill any officials or anything like that,” he told Channel 4 News.  He has also hired an attorney.

Christian messages stress that those who choose violence as the first and last resort are finally consumed by it:  “For they know not to do right, saith The LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces (Amos 3: 10).”
