Broken Hearts? Time to Wake Up! The Past Can’t Be Rebuilt, Pt. 2

2013-hurricane-forecast      Politicians celebrate that refurbished Jersey Shore is ‘almost’ complete.  But they should acknowledge weather scientists predictions that this year’s Hurricane season will be even more active than the one that produced last year’s Sandy.

AFP News claims The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted “the six-month Atlantic hurricane season beginning June 1 will see 13 to 20 named storms, seven to 11 hurricanes and three to six major hurricanes, with winds of at least 111 miles (178 kilometers) per hour.”

Gerry Bell, Lead Hurricane Forecaster in NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center announced, “This year, oceanic and atmospheric conditions in the Atlantic basin are expected to produce more and stronger hurricanes.  These conditions include weaker wind shear, warmer Atlantic waters and conducive winds patterns coming from Africa.”

NOAA Administrator Kathryn Sullivan adds:  “As we saw first hand with Sandy, it’s important to remember that tropical storm and hurricane impacts are not limited to the coastline. Strong winds, torrential rain, flooding and tornadoes often threaten inland areas far from where the storm first makes landfall.”

Environment News Service (ENS) adds “. . . a 70 percent likelihood [is] 13 to 20 named storms with winds of 39 mph or higher.  Three to six are forecast to become major hurricanes of Category 3, 4 or 5 with winds of 111 mph or higher.”

Americans should remember that Hurricane Katrina was a Category 3 storm when it hit New Orleans in 2005.  Yellow cabs line a flood street in Queens, New York in hurricane Sandy's wakeKatrina flooded 80 percent of the city.  And New Orleans citizens and public officials still argue over the actual number it killed.

ENS explains that three climate factors controlling Atlantic hurricane activity will come together to produce the strong hurricane season predicted:  1) The atmospheric climate pattern presently hovering overhead; 2) That pattern includes a strong West African monsoon that have been stirring Atlantic Ocean hurricanes since 1995; and 3) The continuing “warmer-than average water temperatures” in the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea.”

Again, weather prognosticators and politicians avoid using the term Global Warming.  It continues to produce such wicked weather, and people and their governments must face it, and start fighting against it.

The nation doesn’t need more broken hearts in Jersey, New Orleans, or anywhere else.  Moreover, no country can afford to keep rebuilding what Global Warming keeps tearing down.  The past cannot be rebuilt, but the future can be saved if we fight against its destruction, and trust God to save us from disaster.

As wholesale Christian t-shirts advise: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3: 5 – 6).”

Bangladesh, et al, & the U.S.A.: The Insanity Continues

posted by Ida B. Wells IV @ 9:52 AM
May 3, 2013

bangladesh-building-collapse_66687_600x450    How much did you pay for that blouse you’re wearing?  $ 15.00, $ 45.00; and for that skirt hanging in the closet––$ 95.00, $ 125?  And for that cute Disney doll you purchased for your niece?

How about this, those ‘on sale’ items may have cost hmmm 100 lives, 300 lives or even 1,000 lives?  Do you think that is too expensive?  Or do you feel that it is not your fault, or your problem? If so, think again!

An ill-constructed manufacturing plant near Dhaka, Bangladesh collapsed on clothing-factory workers.  Some 377 people were killed.  Bangladesh––after China and India–– is the world’s third largest clothing manufacturer.  Yet it has no paid disaster workers, and relied solely on volunteers to ‘dig’ victims out of the rubble.

This insanity must stop.  With some 40% of Americans either out of work, or working beneath their qualifications for low minimum wage, American corporate heads prefer to go overseas to a poor nation to have extremely low-income scale workers make your clothes at slave-level wages.

Meanwhile, most U.S. workers barely make enough at minimum wage to purchase the items––unless they go to a store such as Wal-Mart––which by the way––apparently stopped investigations about worker-safety in Bangladesh.

Since 2005, collapses of shoddy building construction in Bangladesh have killed over a 1,000 people. David Bacon at counter currents.org writes in ‘Shameful Complicity In The Fatal Factories of Bangladesh:’

“. . . factory owners refused to evacuate . . . after huge cracks appeared in the walls, even after safety engineers told Picture-girl-Bangladesh-building-collapsethem not to let workers inside.  Plant staff told union representatives they’d be docked three days pay for each day of an absence, and so [workers] went inside despite . . . worries.” Thankfully, the factory owner, Mohammed Sohel Rana, was arrested as a fugitive when he tried to cross the border into India.

Associated Press reporter, Khurshed Rinku, claimed last December in ‘Documents Indicate Walmart Blocked Safety Push in Bangladesh:’  “[Papers] found at the Tazreen apparel factory in Bangladesh, where 112 workers died in a fire . . . indicate that three American garment companies were using the factory during the past year to supply goods to Walmart and its Sam’s Club subsidiary.”

Local government officials told Rinku that in 2011 “ the Walmart official there played the lead role in blocking an effort to have global retailers pay more for apparel to help Bangladesh factories improve their electrical and fire safety.”

Such materialistic idolatry must change.  Americans must take responsibility for murderous sacrifices made to bring cheaply made goods to these shores.  To continue purchasing these items is material idolatry.  As wholesale Christian t-shirts attest: “But what saith . . .God . . . I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to [the image of] Baal (Romans 11: 4)”.

Cyprus Bank Taxes and Russian Gangsters Scare EU Countries & U.S.

posted by Ida B. Wells IV @ 22:32 PM
March 18, 2013

hands-off-our-money-Cyprus        Since the end of last week, bankers and politicians throughout the European Union (EU) have worried without measure about a proposal from the government of Cyprus to take tax funds directly out of savings accounts in the nation’s banks.

Just like most financial crises in the EU, this one started because EU bank funders proposed a bailout of 10 billion Euros for the island nation, but required the Cyprus government to raise tax funds.  Sooooo the locals got the idea to immediately tax the bank accounts of their citizens and “others.”

Annnddddd once that announcement was made, the smarter ‘average citizens’  of Cyprus starting running to bank windows and cash machines and jerking out as much of their hard-earned cash as they could!

Theeenn, what do you know?  Bankers across Europe got so scared that their customers would do the same, that they yelled to EU governments to shut the whole thing down. Soooo Cyprus closed all banks until Thursday supposedly. Thuusss,  Europe is in another financial mess, one that threatens U.S. banks too.

In an example of the outcry, BBC’s Mark Simpson says: The Cyprus ‘bank tax’ has led to worries. Fianna Fáil’s statement––“A rubicon has been crossed. Savings are no longer sacrosanct.”  Simpson posits: “The unprecedented raid has sent shockwaves across Europe, with fears it could be repeated in other countries.”

Liz Alderman of Associated Press expounds in ‘Facing Bailout Tax, Cypriots Try to Get Cash Out of Banks,’ “AlthoughATM-line banks placed withdrawal limits of 400 euros, or about $520, on A.T.M.’s, most had run out of cash by early evening. People around the country reacted with disbelief and anger.”

One of the few reporters who got to the heart of the matter, Rick Newman, writing ‘How Cyprus—and Russian Gangsters—Could Harm Your 401(k),’ writing for U.S. News and World Report explains:

“Finland, the Netherlands and other European nations have made taxpayers increasingly unwilling to fund bailouts for other members of the euro zone, and more willing to risk the ramifications of the euro zone splintering.

“There’s another juicy complication: Cyprus is the Cayman Islands of Europe, a lightly regulated offshore banking center that attracts a lot of money from people from who don’t like to answer questions. As much as half of the money in Cypriot banks belongs to Russian oligarchs dodging taxes, some of it probably illicitly gained.”

Surely everyone knows criminal money keeps too many banks afloat! If money watchers, such as the Federal Reserve Bank, don’t quickly give Cyprus a way out of this mess––economies around the world will be suffer.

Perhaps it is best to heed the advice on Christian clothing wholesale: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal (Matthew 6: 19).”

U.S. Reacts to North Korea’s Threats of Nuclear War, WWIII

posted by admin @ 13:00 PM
March 12, 2013

korea si    Somebody please tell Jael I gotta go.  Things are so heating up! North Korea just cancelled its 1953 armistice agreement with South Korea. I gotta talk to my informants over there. China backs the North’s revolt.  Japan moans the tsunami’s anniversary.  The U.S., Australia and Japan now run joint security operations.

And here I sit reporting on leaking nuclear power plants in the states.  Everybody knows they’re leaking.  Congress knows, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission knows, and God knows those private make-money companies know.

They just think the public doesn’t know that nuclear waste is seeping into the ground to soon ruin water, vegetation and animal life. Well, we at earth-end and other ‘nuc-watchers’ have warned of the danger, and it is up to people to act!

I’m writing Jael a memo relating these facts and asking permission to leave asap!  Attn.: Jael: Because the United Nations voted unanimously to impose new sanctions on North Korea due to their scary nuclear test firing last month, The North Korean (N.K.) president is furious. This could start Nuclear World War III. north-korea-soldiers-parade-afp-lg

Associated Press reporter, Hyung-Jin Kim, says N.K’s. chief honcho, Kim Jong Un, “has launched a bombast-filled propaganda campaign against the” U.S., South Korea (S.K.), Japan, Australia drills, which includes some 10,000 South Korean and about 3,000 American troops.

Kim also claims:  “North Korea has also warned South Korea of a nuclear war on the divided peninsula and said it was canceling nonaggression pacts.”  AND he further adds, “the North’s rocket test in December and third atomic bomb test last month may have pushed the country a step closer to acquiring the ability to hit the U.S. with weapons of mass destruction.”

In his New York Times editorial, ‘Reach Out to North Korea’ Donald P. Gregg, former U.S. Ambassador to Seoul, says the N.K. Pres just wants to negotiate.  To counter, eh or assist, that conclusion, on the other hand, Elizabeth Cobbs Hoffman, in another Times editorial begs ‘Come Home, America,’ saying we have spent too much time, money and American lives on the two Koreas.

Hmm.  Maybe she’s right. At least that is what Kim says Korea wants: “. . . a formal peace treaty, security guarantees and other concessions, as well as the removal of 28,500 U.S. troops stationed in South Korea.”

Who knows that China is going to do?  Oh, and plus all of this, now both South Korea and Japan argue that since North Korea has nuclear weapons, they need them too. With its weak nuclear power plants, Japan could build them soon.

Please Jael I gotta go.  Let one of those new assistance you got me work on U.S. Nuc plants.  They don’t seem to be doing much anyway.  After all, wholesale Christian t-shirts, advise:  “ . . . the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9: 4b).”  Waiting to hear from you. Ask Bro. Michael and the guys to pray for me.

Global Warming’s Hot Weather and the Plague of Black Death

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 9:11 AM
September 4, 2012

Hotter weather is bringing our country a sharp rise of new deadly diseases.  While blogging about West Nile Virus, Swine Flu, and Whooping Cough, and the affects of Global Warming on other new diseases––i.e. bat Hendra Virus, Heartland Virus tick virus, a virtually untreatable strain of tuberculosis, etc.––our team was shocked to also find rising cases of the Plague or Black Death.

Recently victims of the Plague have been found in Oregon, New Mexico, California and Florida.  In this century, the Plague has also hit citizens in New York, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Illinois, etc.  In 2009, during an outbreak of plague in New Mexico, three people died, including an 8-year-old child.

Extinction Protocol issued a report this summer confirming that “About 11 cases of plague a year have occurred in the United States since 1976, with most cases found in New Mexico.  Plague has also been reported in a handful of other states.”  However, the U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention report 10 to 15 cases of Plague each year in the United States.

This year, the best known case is in Oregon where a 50 year-old man caught the disease by trying to wrestle a dying mouse from a stray cat’s mouth.  Other well known cases in 2012 are in upper income areas of New Mexico.  And in Florida a drunk man begging to be arrested was also found to have the Plague.

Anna Schotthoefer, lead researcher at the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation advises:  “The shift . . . to more affluent regions of New Mexico . . . suggests that homeowners . . . should be educated about the risks of plague.”

In ‘CBRNE-Plague’ for Medscape.com, Dr. Susan E Dufel, M.D. , et al conclude:  “. . . multiple outbreaks during the last 20 years have stoked fears of another global pandemic.  One reason may be . . . Global Warming. This change is ideal for increasing . . . Ypestis [i.e. Plague] . . . more than 50% increase in the plague . . .with an increase of 1 degree Centigrade of the temperature.”

themiddleages.net says Black death is a summer time disease, abating in cold weather:  “In winter the disease seemed to disappear, but only because fleas–which were helping to carry it from person to person–are dormant then.”

Federal health officials are reluctant to report cases of Plague in the United States.  While they demand all cases of Black Death be immediately reported to them, files then seem to be kept secret.  As with non-disclosure of actual numbers of whooping cough cases, the truth about the Black Death Plague is anecdotal.

If the United States is ever to get serious about attacking Global Warming, we must face up to the dangers that these overwhelming temperatures pose for public health.  Only then will citizens be forced to cope with imposed modern life styles.  Jesus tell us: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8: 32).  Print this message on wholesale Christian T-shirts so that our leaders start freeing us from Global Warming.

Volcanoes in Violent Coordinated Erupting Around the World

posted by Sarah N Worthy IATTWJ Member @ 19:23 PM
March 15, 2012

Has anyone noticed that volcanoes seem to be awakening more than ever this year.  Some eruptions that have been dormant for years have joined threatening noises from other fiery mountains around the world.

Even in the United States, fiery volcanoes have come alive in at least two states.  The Illiama and Cleveland volcanoes in Alaska and the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii––all now bubble with possibilities for major overflows.

This week, according to the Alaska Public News Service, the Cleveland volcano has exploded for the third time in seven days.  Although no ash could be detected, authorities have not put real-time monitoring equipment there.  But distant seismometers and microphones measured the explosion on March 8th as sending forth airways traveling at the speed of sound.

Explosions, most probably caused by earthquakes, have emitted from Alaska Illiamna volcano for the last thee months, apparently on an ongoing basis.  And the Kiluea Volcano in Hawaii continuously sends forth so much lava that it has created a path to the Pacific Ocean.  Lava is also flowing out from the other direction away from the ocean, and it’s fires have destroyed the house of at least one fisherman in the village that sits right in the flow’s path.

Moreover, the National Center for Disaster Prevention in Mexico reports that its Popocatepetl “has expelled nine low-intensity exhalation accompanied by emissions of water vapor and gas, and sometimes small amounts of ash.”  Cronica News Service says that the entire area around this mountain is on evacuation alert.

And, as if Japan did not have enough concerns with this week’s new 6.9 quake and the following tsunami, its Sakurajima Volcano is now spewing hot rocks and ash as it violently shakes, sending up plumes as high as 10,000 feet.  Even this much activity is unusual for Sakurajima which Volcano Discovery says is one of the few volcanoes in the world that has persistent activity.

In the next blog, we will cover other apparently coordinated volcanic explosions up around the world, with a discussion of the possible causes.  Fiery mountains sending up deadly lavas in Columbia, Costa Rica, Greece, Russia, Montserrat, Indonesia the Philippines, Mexico, etc.  We will also explore secular prophecies about super-volcanoes set to go off in December, 2012.

A famous hymn once asked, “Where will you be when the world’s on fire.”  Print that question on Wholesale Christian T-Shirts so that everyone gets the message.  Fire on mountains symbolizes God’s anger toward the unrepentant sins of ignoring His laws and His creation:  “For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains (Deuteronomy 32: 22).”  Its time to everyone to repent––even Christians as well as sinners!

Rising Sea/Lake Levels, Failing Shores & Heads in Global Sands, Pt 3

posted by Jael Ever @ 10:50 AM
August 17, 2011

Not only have sea levels risen to record levels, waters in lakes across the United States have also reached or surpassed their high water marks.  Some officials have closed lakes adjoining along with public parks until water levels recede.  And, because water levels are much more closer to lake front houses than ever envisioned, other areas have forbidden water skiing or any recreational activity that can make waves, further endangering property lines.  Melting mountain snow waters, heavy rains and saturated grounds continue to keep water levels excessively high.

Last month in Lake Marion, Lake Gervais, Lake Byllesby in the Minneapolis-St. Paul twin-city area, water levels threatened shore lines, as well as houses built near shores.  Water craft were restricted to the slowest possible speeds, because reeling waves “can start to cause erosion on the shorelines and with the people that live on the lake, their docks can eventually be damaged,” said Sgt. Jim Iliff, the head of the Dakota County Sheriff’s Parks, Lakes and Trails Division.  Boaters were encouraged to find other “watering holes” if they wanted to speed.

In another part of that state, officials complained that water levels at severely high levels endanger properties.  “A lot of the infrastructure was put in and the goal was to farm the land. Now,” County Commissioner, Doug Huebsch, said, “everything has changed and we’re at a 100 year high. We have so much property around all of these lakes that we need to protect.”  He warns, “The high water has taken out township roads and reached the medians on county roads . . This becomes a public safety issue, property rights issue and a pollution issue when septic systems are under water. These lakes are really at risk.”

Today, Lake Tahoe is barely going down from its rise of 580 percent above normal water content, which is five feet above the lakes natural high water mark at 6,228 feet.  Melting big winter snowfalls have resulted in nearly non-existent summer beaches.  And, according to Adam Jensen of the Tahoe Daily Tribune, those summer beaches “may not be making a comeback anytime soon.”  The U.S. Geological Survey reports that Lake Tahoe’s water level has been heavily  increasing since March, and the snow the mountain snow is still melting.

These and other effects of Global Warming push the earth toward slow but sure destruction.  As the present earth ends, Christian messages must do everything to reach the lost, telling them about The Savior, and the New Earth He promises––an earth full of joy, abundance and peace, an earth devoid of evil to thwart the full blessings of God:  “And by the river upon the bank thereof,. . . shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, . . . it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine” (Ezekiel 47: 12).”

Troubled Seas Soon to Cast Japan’s Trash Onto U.S. Shores

posted by Jael Ever @ 13:43 PM
August 3, 2011

As if the United States does not have enough trash, plastics and every other kind of debris floating in world oceans, this country will soon receive millions of pieces of useless fragments coming across the Pacific Ocean from Japan’s tsunami last March.  Oceanographers suggests the floods of trash from that rather radioactive island will hit Hawaii by next spring, and the shores of the west coast a year later.  But the environmental nightmare doesn’t end there. Scientists expect the massive undulating mess to return to this country two or three times over subsequent years.

Because there is already more trash floating on ocean waters than anyone knows how to discard, scientists are trying to figure out what to do with this new patch that will spew refuge from Baja California to Alaska.  Professors Nikolai Maximenko and Jan Hafner, scientists at the International Pacific Research Center, University of Hawaii at Manoa, reported the expected arrival of the floating debris assault.  Maximenko authenticated his knowledge of Pacific Ocean currents by telling governments exactly where they would find the well-known North Pacific Garbage Patch, which is now twice the size of Texas.

Oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer told Paul Rogers of mercurynews.com:  “We are going to see boats, parts of homes, lots of plastic bottles, chair cushions, kids’ toys, everything.”  He estimates that the humongous pile of trash “is moving east at roughly 10 miles a day, and is spread over an area about 350 miles wide and 1,300 miles long–an area roughly the size of California.” So California will be run over with a pile of garbage that is the size of California?

Several government agencies––including the Coast Guard, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. State Department––are meeting to plan reaction strategy.  Meanwhile, Japan faces additional trash problems.  Aaron Teasdale writes:  “The tsunami and earthquake resulted in 24 million metric tons of debris, which represents roughly half of Japan’s annual trash output.”  Thus, Japan also has to figure out what to do with all that trash!

Japan’s continuing tragedy still affects all the earth, and it is indicative of flawed thinking in post-modern society.  Why do today’s lifestyles demand disposable materials?  Why are economies based on continuously buying the new and discarding the used? When will it dawn on world leaders that earth and oceans will soon have no more dumping space?  Isaiah writes about “the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt” (57: 20).  West coast residents had best don wholesale Christian t-shirts and enjoy what clean beaches they can find, because soon the troubled sea will cast up its mire and dirt!

Fathers Failing the Animals’ Parenting Scale

posted by Jael Ever @ 11:47 AM
June 20, 2011

Human beings, most of whom consider themselves to be vastly superior to animals, could learn a lot about fatherhood from the animal kingdom.  As they celebrate Father’s Day this year, men fathering children may be able to get some guidance on fatherhood from non-human animals.  While the divorce rate in this country has been going down, so has the rate of marriage.  At the same time, the rates of unwed mothers and absent fathers are skyrocketing.  Thus, the presence of fathers in the nation’s social structure is sadly becoming a vanishing influence in public life.  But not in the animal world.  Regardless of the species, relationships between males and females have remained the same for centuries; and, in most cases, fathers have integral roles in the lives of their off-spring.

For instance, animal blogs––such as Discovery News, Animal Planet and others––say that, after laying her eggs, the female emperor penguin rolls it onto the dad’s feet and then leaves to recuperate.  Living only in the Antarctic, father emperors stand in one place protecting those eggs in the cold and snow, sometimes up to 100 days until they hatch.  These fathers don’t move.  They don’t even eat until those chicks are born.  Then, even after moms returns, dads help to care for their babies, often feeding them from a gland on the father’s esophagus.

While the male rheas may have more than one mate, he incubates and raises all of his brood, no matter how many he has to raise at one time.  And this flightless bird “mothers” his chicks for some six months until they are grown enough to go out on their own.  Another example: exclusively living in India, golden jackals pair with one mate for life.  They scavenge food and do everything together.  And, while the mother rests up from her pregnancy, the father feeds his infant children from his own regurgitated food.  Likewise, the male red fox plays with his pups and brings them food for some three months.  Then he seems to put them out on their on to hunt for food, when in reality, he has hidden food around the camp for them to find, in that way training them to become great hunters.

The list of successful fathering in the animal kingdom goes on and on.  How sad that the opposite can be said for the great United States which now experiences such horrific societal breakdown.  In his blog, “Absent Fathers and the Awful Statistics,” Rich Andrews presents facts about the malignant affects on boys and girls forced to grow up without their fathers.  In discussing the ministry of John the Baptist, Luke’s Gospel says, “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, . . .” (1: 17a).  Considering examples of fatherhood from non-human animals, surely it is urgently necessary for this John the Baptist teaching about fatherhood to be included in all Christian messages.  Or else some men, including “a few” professing Christians, must admit that they fall lower than animals on the parenting scale!

Treading The Danger of Needlessly Slaughtering Birds

posted by Jael Ever @ 20:07 PM
May 19, 2011

For the second time in six months, dozens of bodies of dead pelicans have washed up on America’s southern shores.  Even more of these animals were sickened.  By the end of 2010, someone had killed 250 pelicans in North Carolina and Florida, and left hundreds more disabled.  This month another 30 dead or badly injured birds washed ashore.  The situation is so dire that a task force has been formed with officials from police and sheriff’s departments, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The task force is now working frantically to solve the mystery of what is happening to this bird––which also happens to be another disabled species.  These officials, along with The Humane Society of the United States and The Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust offer a combined reward of $ 8,500 for information on who is killing these birds.  According to Connie Pleti of the Topsail Voice, “The birds have been mutilated and harmed in such ways as being stabbed, cut, shot, tendons sliced, decapitated and their wings cut off.” North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Law Enforcement Officer Doug Jones adds “I don’t believe they died naturally.  These are not accidental deaths. They are malicious and deliberate.  It is a state and a federal offense to harm these protected birds.”

Those animals still alive were so in such bad shape that they had to be euthanized. Toni O’Neil, director of the Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary in Hubert, North Carolina, said of one bird: “It looks like a bomb has gone off in the wing. It’s that shattered and smashed so completely.”  She insists that people are actually killing the birds:  “We . . .  said last year when it ended that when warm weather came back and fishing picked up again, it would start again.  Well, it has been warm for the past few weeks, and fishing has started again and the reports and the dead and injured pelicans have been coming in, just like we said.”

Robert Jones of the American Bird Conservancy explains that this brown pelican can be found from Chesapeake Bay to the Gulf Coast as well as in California.  “It is the only North American pelican that plunge-dives to catch its food. It may have a wingspan of up to seven feet and weighs about eight pounds.”  Almost wiped out in the 1960s and 70s from DDT use, the Brown pelican was placed on the Endangered Species list.

“What comes around, goes around” was a popular saying several years ago.  And several Scriptures about birds agree with that sentiment:  “Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life” (Proverbs 7: 23).  “. . .for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end” (Jeremiah 12: 4).  Its time to get out wholesale Christian t-shirts with the message, “To Needlessly Slaughter Birds Endangers Your Own Life.”
