Sandy Decisions to Make: To Remake It As It Was––Or Not?

posted by Sarah N Worthy IATTWJ Member @ 10:35 AM
December 11, 2012

Is the American government going to give New York, New Jersey and other states hit by Hurricane Sandy $ 60.4 billion without requiring coastal areas to redesign infrastructures and home rebuilding with Global Warming in mind?

An Associated Press story, ‘Obama Asks For $60 Billion in Sandy Aid,’ says this is apparently what officials have in mind.  Money would be meted out to “homeowners, businesses, and state and local government . . . [FEMA], New York City’s subways and other mass transit damage, the government’s flood insurance program . . . and the Army Corps of Engineers.”

There is no mention of changing infrastructure designs, increasing structure heights and moving coast lines further away from waters, permanent sea walls, etc.  Of course, local and state jurisdictions come into play, as well as property owner rights. But what good is it to spend $ 60 billion today for ‘ordinary’ rebuilding, if we do nothing to prepare for the next Sandy a year or two from now?

For one thing, if governments care anything about their citizens, they must take over more responsibility for utility power companies.  Leaving the survival of American people in the hands of a few men motivated solely by profit levels is absurd.  This may include investment in underground or high level wiring; but it must include quasi-government private ownership of power companies.

In ‘What Sandy Is Teaching New York City That 9/11 Didn’t’ Eric Roston quotes John McDonald, Director of Technical Strategy and Policy Development for General Electric’s Digital Energy Program:  “If you have to rebuild, instead of rebuilding what was there, how can you improve upon it?  The extremes we’re experiencing are more extreme than what we’ve experienced before. Storms are more severe. Flooding is more severe. When you look at the design of the city, you really have to take these things into account.”

Therefore, McDonald says:  “Flood protection, subways, tunnels, bridges, aqueducts, electricity grids, food distribution, law enforcement, health and communications and the other infrastructure and human systems now need to be built not only to serve the needs of the present, but to anticipate and avoid the least tolerable risks we can surmise about the future.”

Exactly!  Also, Munich Re Global insurance conglomerate reports:  “The North American continent is exposed to every type of hazardous weather peril – tropical cyclone, thunderstorm, winter storm, tornado, wildfire, drought and flood. . . Nowhere in the world is the rising number of natural catastrophes more evident than in North America.”  Peter Roder, a Munich board member adds:  “Climate change-related increases in hazards . . . are not automatically reflected in the premiums.” Thus, if priorities don’t change, insurance premiums will go up drastically!  To scorn constantly imminent threats of Global Warming is utter foolishness.  As Bible verse cards insist:  “The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men (Proverbs 24: 9).” Let’s not be foolish in this!

Europe Sinks Deeper Into Depression and Germany Isn’t Stopping It!

posted by Ida B. Wells IV @ 22:56 PM
December 4, 2012

I often blog about bad times in Europe: suicides, families tumbling into poverty, mothers abandoning babies and millions of angry protesters.  Other scholars agree––Europe slides into depression and Germany still pushes austerity!

Closely following Europe’s fall into the economic abyss is urgent for those who realize that it was economic depression that led to Hitler and World War II.  Elder Nazis in Europe who served Hitler now train neo-Nazis to recruit unemployed youth who will join the coming wars to avoid hard economic times.

While most economists only say Europe may be headed into recession, in ‘Wake Up! 11 Facts That Show That Europe Is Heading Into An Economic Depression,’ economist Michael Snyder claims: “Europe is not just heading into another recession. . . . Europe is heading into a full-blown depression. . .

“In some nations in Europe, the unemployment rate is already significantly higher than anything the United States experienced during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Europe . . is collapsing under the weight of its own debt.”

Snyder, whose essay has been republished in scores of internet sites, lists extremely high unemployment rates as the major reason for Europe’s coming economic disaster.  He also points to:  1) Two consecutive quarters of shrinking economies in 17 of the 27 European countries––especially Greece which will shrink over 12% by next year.; 2) The collapse of industrial production through the continent; 3) Moody’s downgrade of the France’s credit rating, as wealthy individuals leave that country to avoid rising taxes; 5)  Even in Germany, factory orders decline from month to month; 6) The overwhelming debt burden of Greece.

Snyder’s main point is the high unemployment rate throughout most European countries.  The average overall unemployment rate throughout all of Europe is 11.7 percent is high enough.  But it is considerably higher in individual countries:  25.4 percent in Greece, and 26.2 percent in Spain.  Youth unemployment is 60 percent in the two countries, helping neo-Nazis recruitment.

Gerald Celente, of trendsresearch.com––which is lauded for accurately forecasting hundreds of social, business, consumer, environmental, economic, political, etc.  trends––says Europe is already in depression: “If you live in Greece, you’re in a depression; if you live in Spain, you’re in a depression; if you live in Portugal or Ireland, you’re in a depression. If you live in Lithuania, you’re running to the bank to get your money out of the bank . . . It’s a depression. Hungary, there’s a depression, and much of Eastern Europe, Romania, Bulgaria.”

Dr. Jael Ever’s study of Germany in worldscollide-culture-Christianity-endoftime.com. coincides with Snyder’s predictions. She would add that Germany is pushing Europe––and the rest of the world––into World War III.  As a verse in online Bible lessons relates:  “Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe (1 Chronicles 27: 32).”  Scribe is the Bible term for scholar. Snyder, Celente, Ever and other scholars try to warn the world that war is coming.

Newspaper Boys and Girls Pinch-Hitting Thanksgiving Week

posted by Newspaper Boys @ 9:00 AM
November 20, 2012

John J., Jr.:  Once West Nile Virus, and the Meningitis thing sprang up, Jael put our Global Warming Conference on hold.  Then she had us lookin’ for stories on people who died with same-lookin’ ‘sympteems’, but “were misdiagnosed.”

And just as as we was knee-deep in down-loaded copies of news stories, morgue notices, doctors’ summaries, with medical terms we didn’t understand––Hurricane Sandy hit.  And you guessed it!  She has Newsworthy, Ad Versary, all of us doing triple-time on Hurricane fall-out.

Sissy:  Take it easy on Jael John J.  We’s all worken hard, startin’ with Jael herself!  We’s dependent on cell phones and a few emails trying to keep up with scores of private citizen volunteers working out of churches have organized themselves into relief teams as military troops have left.  Very little help is coming from the Salvation Army, Red Cross, and the usual folks the country expects.

Allie:  What I want to know is how come the country wasn’t better prepared for storms like Sandy.  Scientists and folks like us been warnin’ them ‘bout Global Warming for years. No excuse to not be better ready.  Some folks don’t have toilet facilities, drinking water, heat, clothes––just bare things you need to live.

John J.:  You’re right Allie:  Lt. General Russel Honore who took command in straightenin’ things out after Hurricane Katrina says that it takes long-term work and planning to help these victims.  It just can’t be done in a few weeks.  But people up North in New York and New Jersey don’t seem to understand that.

Farley:  Yep! You’re right Allie.  And the docs are just beginning to look at the sewer filth now washin’ up, and the sicknesses that’s gonna cost.  And news reports say city engineers don’t know how to stop that stuff from spewing out.

John J:  Anyhow, Dr. Ad Versery says he is working on results of the House of Representatives subcommittee investigating shenanigans goin’ on in that FDA, Massachusetts health people, and them alleged criminals at that New England Compounding Center.  He says it seems like no one is in charge of medicine now.

Arlene:  Has anybody seen what’s happening with West Nile Virus?  The Centers for Disease Control said last week that now the disease is in 48 states, with a total of 5,128 cases and it has killed 229 people.  So these mosquitos are still bitting even in colder weather? Why can’t these science geniuses come up with vaccines for these viruses anyway?

Rev. Reprieslty: Oh my goodness kids.  Sounds like things are getting worse, not better.  If there were ever a time our nation needed The LORD Jesus, it is now.  It’s like we’re in a war zone, but we just don’t know it.  Do you remember Hosea 4: 6 from our Bible verse cards:  “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee . . .”  Let us ‘stand in the gap’ for the United States and turn to God in prayer and repentance!

U.S. Nuclear Powered Plants As Flood-Endangered as Japan’s

posted by admin @ 9:21 AM
October 23, 2012

In addition to my new assignments on China and other Asian nations, and staying on top of things in Japan, Jael asked me to assess the flood-safety of nuclear plants in the U. S.  After seeing Japan’s continual mis-assessments of flood waters and earthquake dangers, I knew it was only a matter of time before American journalists would insist on the truth about similar hazards here.

As in Japan, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is hiding information about encroaching dangers to our nation’s nuclear power plants.  But recently Greenpeace got ahold of, and shared, an unredacted NRC report.  David Lochbaum, a nuclear engineer and safety advocate with the Union of Concerned Scientists says of the ‘uncorrected’ version:  “. . . the NRC is lying to the American public about the safety of U.S. reactors.”

Susie Madrak of Crooks and Liars.com agrees:  The uncovered “report highlights the threat that flooding poses to nuclear power plants located near large dams––and suggests that the NRC has misled the public for years about the severity of the threat, according to engineers and nuclear safety advocates.”

In “Leaked Report Suggests Long-Known Flood Threat To Nuclear Plants, Safety Advocates Say,” Tom Zeller, Jr. gives specifics:  “. . . evidence in the report indicates that the NRC has known for a decade. . . that failure of a dam upriver from the Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina would cause floodwaters to overwhelm the plant’s three reactors and their cooling equipment––not unlike what befell Japan’s Fukushima Dai-chi facility after an earthquake and tsunami struck.”

Zeller insists:  “According to the NRC’s own calculations, . . . the odds of the dam near the Oconee plant failing at some point over the next 22 years are far higher than were the odds of an earthquake-induced tsunami causing a meltdown at the Fukushima plant.”  He writes further that the exposed report “identifies flood threats from upstream dams at nearly three dozen other nuclear facilities in the United States, including the Fort Calhoun Station in Nebraska, the Prairie Island facility in Minnesota and the Watts Bar plant in Tennessee, among others.”

Even NRC employees question the Commission’s commitment to safety. Larry Criscione, NRC risk engineer, accused the Commission of doublespeak:  “I think they’re being dishonest.”  He speaks of Duke Energy which operates a nuclear plant 11 miles from the Jocassee Dam. Criscione recently wrote Congress:   “There are many people within Duke Energy and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission who believe that, were Jocassee Dam to fail, all three reactors . . . would melt down in less than 10 hours.”

Why would officials allow such lax oversight of nuclear power.  In online Bible lessons, Dr. Reprieslty teaches about God’s requirements for watchmen in Ezekiel chapters 3 and 33.  If they don’t warn people that danger is coming, God holds the watchmen responsible.  In this case, certainly, the journalists are good watchmen, and Mr. Criscione is among the best!

With West Nile Virus, Next in U.S. Health? Cholera or . . .? Pt. 2

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 23:02 PM
October 9, 2012

Additional tropical weather infectious diseases are moving quite close to U.S. borders.  While the Cuban government is extremely secretive, it is known that the island is experiencing a cholera epidemic.  Also, Global Warming is pushing poisonous Ciguatera Fish further northward, up the Atlantic Coast.

Juan O. Tamayo writes in ‘Cuban Government Stays Mum on New Cholera,’ for the Miami Herald:  “Four weeks after the Cuban government announced that an outbreak of cholera in the eastern part of the island was over, there are unconfirmed reports of new cases popping up in two small towns.

“Twenty-seven cases were reported in the municipality of San Luis, in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, and 19 more in the Bahia Honda municipality 35 miles west of Havana.  Roberto González, a dissident living in San Luis, said that area public health workers and residents told him of the more than two dozen confirmed cases and 102 suspected cases over. . .  the past two weeks.”

He adds that Cuban security keeps all non-residents away from towns reporting outbreaks, and masked hospital employees do not allow non-cholera victim relatives or others into hospitals and clinics.

This disease is spread through contaminated food, water and––seafood!  Cuba is only 90 miles from the U.S. and both  nations share ocean spacial borders.  Scientists report that in developed nations, cholera is typically transmitted through seafood, especially shellfish and plankton.

Others tell Tamayo there had been a ten-day ban on fishing in local waters, but that ban is now supposedly lifted. However, with the secrecy surrounding this epidemic in Cuba, we have no firm figures on the number sick or dead.

One of the new diseases Katherine Butler mentions in ‘5 Diseases on the Move in North America, Thanks to Climate Change’ is ‘Ciguatera Fish Poisoning.’
She writes:  “Ciguatera is considered endemic from Florida through the Caribbean. Now, it’s making its way up North America. . . As waters warm, new cases are popping up in previously unexposed northern latitudes.”

Wikipedia defines Ciguatera as “a food-borne illness caused by eating certain reef fish . . .contaminated with toxins originally produced by dinoflagellates such as Gambierdiscus toxins which lives in tropical and subtropical waters.

“ . . .  species near the top of the food chain . . . such as barracudas, snapper, moray eels, parrotfishes, groupers, triggerfishes and amberjacks, are most likely to cause ciguatera poisoning . . . Ciguatoxin is odorless, tasteless and very heat-resistant, so ciguatoxin-laden fish cannot be detoxified by conventional cooking.”

Online Bible lessons explain that deadly diseases thrive predominately in those nations which reject God’s Son, Jesus:  “And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt upon thee . . . (Deuteronomy 7: 15).”  Pray for revival of our nation’s faith!

Second Kids Rehearsal Panel: ‘Switcharoo’––Animals Attacking Us

posted by Newspaper Boys @ 10:01 AM
September 26, 2012

Rev. Repriestly:  OK Kids.  Jael has given new orders about the Conference. She knows you favor panels about people destroying the animal kingdom.  But she also wants you to do panels on animals attacking humans on a mass scale.

John J. Jr.: But Doc, us kids have done all this internet researchin’ on Global Warming killing all kinds o’ fish in oceans, lakes and rivers.  En Aleen’s working on summer droughts killing animals.  You all got ideas on this new assignment?

Allie:  Well, my side gigs is on stray dogs, wild chimpanzees, mountain lions going into parks and coyotes living in cities.  And there’s bears killing people in national parks and going into stores for food. But that’s doubles my work!

Farley:  En I guess I can go back to looking into those python snakes creeping up through Florida and Texas into the upper U.S.  In a few years those killer snakes will be everywhere in our country.  Its a bad sign of evil.

Sissy: See here John J., I know more than just ‘bout spiders.  And I’s gonna report on those killer cats.  Don’t shake your heads!  Yea common household cats.  I am tired of all these commercials cryin’ about cuddly cats and kittens.

The truth is cats kills birds.  They kill ‘em when they cab catch ‘em.  And those salesmen on TV selling cat food, don’t want people to think about the dead birds. Some of our latest internet newspaper stories even say cats is killing people.

Look at that story a few weeks ago, ‘. . . Antibodies, Dementia, and Cat Ownership Among Men . . .’ by Dr. William A. Schwartzman and his group. It said:  “Cat ownership was associated with the presence of IgM antibodies . . . and with neuro-psychological decline and dementia.”

Farley:  She’s right John.  Our country must do more to rein in the animal kingdom.  SPX News Service ran a story a few days ago showing that crows have memories just like people.  And they remember people who attack them, and find ways to attack those attackers.

If we don’t do something about growing numbers of wild and domestic animals, we’ll soon be like Switzerland.  In ‘Wild animals on the Increase in Switzerland, Extinction Protocol explains:  “Wild animals including bears, wolves and jackals are on the increase in Switzerland, a government agency said Friday, as it reported a spike in the figures across the country.”

Reinhard Schnidrig, Director of Switzerland’s Environment Department, explains that animals are moving upward to cooler temperatures in Switzerland.  The female animals are moving first to protect their young, and males soon follow.

Rev. Repriestly:  Use this verse from your online Bible lessons as a starting point, Revelation 6: 8, “And . . . behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill . . . with the beasts of the earth.”

Thousands at Risk from Hantavirus Death Caught At Yosemite Park

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 7:00 AM
September 5, 2012

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is fearful that some 10,000 people have been exposed to the deadly rodent-borne hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) through camping at Yosemite National Park in California.  This week two people died and four others are ill from HPS at the Yosemite outbreak.

The CDC urges those who stayed at that park’s facilities to be tested immediately.  “An estimated 10,000 persons stayed in the ‘Signature Tent Cabins’ from June 10 through August 24, 2012.  People who stayed in the tents between June 10 and August 24 may be at risk of developing HPS in the next 6 weeks.”

Extinction Protocol  and Reuters News Service reveal:  “Hantavirus is carried in rodent feces, urine and saliva, which dries out and mixes with dust that can be inhaled by humans, especially in small, confined spaces with poor ventilation.  People can also be infected by eating contaminated food, touching contaminated surfaces or being bitten by infected rodents.

“The virus starts out causing flu-like symptoms, including headache, fever, muscle ache, shortness of breath and cough. Initial symptoms may appear up to six weeks after exposure and can lead to severe breathing difficulties and death.”

californiawatch.org says that state health officials told authorities at the State Park to warn campers about the dangers of this virus in camp tents.  “Yet park officials did not warn visitors until after the disease showed up in recent weeks.”

This association of journalists also writes:  “In a 2010 risk assessment document, state inspectors explicitly asked Yosemite officials to educate those staying in the tent cabins linked to the hantavirus cases about the fatal disease.” The risk assessment was “after a 54-year-old park visitor fell ill with hantavirus in 2010 after staying in the type of tent cabin inhabited by the 2012 victims.”

Yet, Capt. Charles Higgins, Director of Public Health for the National Park Service, says there is no warning about this vector-borne disease because its low risk:  “That’s always a dilemma because people have message fatigue.  Their eyes glaze over, they quit paying attention to messaging.”

According to the California Department of Public Health, since 1993, there have been 60 cases of Hantavirus in California and 587 cases in the United States.  Buildings that have been inhabited by mice during winter months are especially dangerous for workers, who should be protected by masks when entering.

Dr. Giorgio Cosentino, who is a friend of one of the deceased victims who was also a doctor, says Park authorities should have warned visitors of the risk, even if low, so “they can get to a hospital sooner,” with better chances of survival.

What a pity!  A man devoted to medical practice losses his life because health workers feared “message fatigue.”  In online Bible lessons, 2 Kings 1: 14 tells of a soldier asking Elijah, “ . . . let my life now be precious in thy sight.”  Workers in these outdoor camps should have more respect for human life.

Shaking Quake Swarms, Volcanoes and Science Doesn’t Know?

posted by Sarah N Worthy IATTWJ Member @ 15:14 PM
August 31, 2012

Scientists claim to be baffled about hundreds of earthquake swarms––and in some cases full quakes––pelting Southern California in the last few days, which certainly doesn’t give ease to citizens living with damages from the shakings.

According to Elizabeth Cochran, geophysicist for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), more than 400 earthquakes or swarms greater than 1.0 in magnitude have hit Imperial County, California, this week.  The largest were 5.3 and 5.5 in magnitude.

The virulent tremors have caused the town of Brawley in Imperial County to declare a state of emergency after rattling swarms knocked some 20 mobile homes off their blocks, forced the National Beef slaughterhouse to close, damaged the local high school, and brought millions in losses to businesses from closures.

Brawley mayor, George Nava, said he took the unusual step to ask for emergency help from the county and state.  Hundreds of swarms lasting for days have brought millions of dollars worth of damage to his region.  Residents from unlivable mobile home, and others suffering without electrical power, air conditioning or running water are staying with the Red Cross.

While Jeanne Hardebeck, USGS research seismologist, insists that these continuing swarms are not a sign that more damaging quakes are imminent, other geologists are not so sure.

Scientists do know that these quake tremors come from water and other fluids moving around in the Earth’s crust.  And swarms are known to evoke volcanic eruptions.  Another USGS scientists, Julie Dutton, admits:  “In volcanically active areas, earthquake swarms often indicate imminent eruptions.”

But Eli MacKinnon from livescience.com concludes:  “The only potential candidates for volcanic eruptions near Brawley are the Salton Buttes, five small lava domes that flank the Salton Sea and haven’t erupted in close to 10,000 years.”     Cochran explains that to the south of the Salton Sea, the earth’s Pacific plate and North American plate pull away from each other creating the Gulf of California separating Baja California from Mexico.  And Imperial County is caught in the center of the split in what is called the Brawley Seismic Zone.

But what Cochran and other scientists won’t openly admit is that even volcanoes that haven’t erupted in eons can wake up again, just as the long-sleeping Little Sitkin volcano in Alaska’s Aleutian Islands was re-awakened just TODAY by a swarm of small earthquakes.  Sound familiar?

It is time for man and science to acknowledge that only Almighty God knows everything about how earth works, because He made it, as well as the people who live upon it.  A favorite Psalm in the best Bible verse cards is Psalm 24: 1, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”  It is past time for mankind to look to Him for answers––i.e. as in the ‘science’ of prayer!

West Nile Virus Epidemic Increases By 40% and Going Up, Part 3

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 20:34 PM
August 30, 2012

The United States is undergoing the worse epidemic of West Nile Virus ever imagined.  There has been a 40% increase in the number of cases in just this week.  As of  today, the disease has killed 66 Americans, and sickened another 1,590.

Because those with milder cases usually don’t report to doctors, some 30,000 Americans have probably contracted the virus.  Over 70% of known cases are in six states––Texas, South Dakota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Michigan.

However, nearly half (45%) of all reported cases in the U.S. are in Texas, which now has 894 confirmed cases, with the disease killing 34 there.
Strangely, over half of those deaths were in the northern part of the state.

Moreover, health officials expect the statistics of infected cases to increase.  Dr. Lyle Petersen, Director of Vector-Borne Infectious in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention says:  “We have seen this trend in previous West Nile epidemics, so the increase is not unexpected. In fact, we think the reported numbers will get higher through October.”

Petersen further advises:  “The virus is endemic at this point throughout the United States.  There is a risk almost everywhere.”  Sharon Begley of Reuters writes that, according to Petersen, only 2 or 3 percent of West Nile virus cases are even reported to health officials, because 80 percent of victims show no symptoms.

Dr. David L. Lakey, Commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, agrees:  “Since last week, there have been 197 new cases and 10 more deaths in Texas.  Those numbers will continue to go up.”

What’s even more serious, 56% of these known cases are neuro-invasive, which means the virus has entered the nervous system and can result in meningitis or encephalitis, which causes disorientation, muscle weakness, etc.

Various scientists speculate that a milder winter and hotter summer has greatly contributed to this explosion of  disease-carrying mosquitoes.  Dr. Tony Goldberg, professor of epidemiology at the University of Wisconsin, theorizes:  “Higher temperatures foster faster reproduction of both the mosquito and the virus.”  The same high temperatures also increase mosquito movements.

In “Why Is West Nile Virus So Bad This Year?,” Tia Ghose of LiveScience writers:  “A mild winter and a hot, dry summer are part of the reason West Nile virus is spreading like wildfire throughout the country.” Because few regions had hard frosts to kill these insects, they started breeding earlier in the spring.

Which brings us back to Global Warming.  As our earthend team asks so often: when will our leaders accept that we are killing the planet and ourselves with climate change.  As online Bible lessons make clear: “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy (Proverbs 29: 1).”  This mosquito-borne disease is only one of many plagues to come, unless we attack Global Warming!

More Careless Malfeasance Around Japan’s Nuclear Accident

posted by admin @ 17:47 PM
July 24, 2012

Well I’m back again with bad news about Japan.  Apparently, after last year’s radiation leakages, subcontractors forced workers at the Fukushima nuclear power plant to cover radiation detectors with lead resulting in under-reporting radiation amounts harmful to workers, enabling them to work for longer periods.

Like too many questionable practices among businesses and governments around the globe, this deception greatly endangered workers’ lives.  But it was uncovered by good journalism, which is it will take if the public is ever to know the truth about the many harrowing dangers of nuclear energy.

Reuters reports:  “The Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported . . . that an executive from Build-Up, a subcontractor to plant owner Tokyo Electric Power, told workers to cover the devices called dosimeters when working in high-radiation areas.  Dosimeters can be worn as badges or carried as devices around the size of a smartphone to detect radiation.”

David Guttenfelder of Associated Press adds:  “A subcontractor of plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co., or TEPCO, acknowledged having nine workers cover their dosimeters with lead plates late last year so the instrument would indicate a lower level of radiation exposure.”

While government-funded public television there claimed the lead covering only occurred once, Guttenfelder writes: “The investigation marks the first time the government has looked into the case, believed to be part of a widespread practice at the plant since it was hit by the worst atomic crisis since Chernobyl.”

Personal dosimeter readers are crucial records to determine how long individual workers should be exposed to radiation.  But after the Fukushima disaster, the government “more than doubled” the limits of radiation exposure for workers.  Only at the end of last year, did they lower it back to pre-accident levels.

Even Japan’s Health and Labor Ministry has repeatedly issued warnings to TEPCO about the company’s careless mismanagement of the amount of worker radiation exposure.  And TEPCO has admitted that workers had to share dosimeters because they were in short supply after the earthquake-tsunami damage.

Takashi Wada, president of the subcontractor Build-Up, acknowledged the dosimeter falsification.  “We should never have done that,” he told TBS news.  This last year has shown that leaders in Japan’s government and industry seem to have little regard for human life.

The more I report on Japan’s nuclear power, the more I believe in God’s final judgments against errant leadership.  As online Bible lessons assert:  “For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed (Isaiah 9: 16).”  World leaders should understand that God will hold them responsible for the people whose lives they needlessly endanger or cut short.
