Ultra-Powerful Volcanoes Continue in These Last Days!

JapanVolcano I was working on in India, this ‘still-third-world’ country’s trip to Mars, when the editors rushed me back to Japan to cover the sudden explosion of Japan’s Mt. Ontake, a 10,062-foot volcano people love to hike. Over 30 are feared dead.

Arriving late on the scene, I’ve had to rely on other news clips for background, but most of these do not have definite results on deaths or injuries. Not only have vacation hikers, hoping to enjoy scenes of autumn colors, been overcome by Mt. Ontake’s ash and smoke, apparently rescuers have been as well.

Martin Fackler of The New York Times writes:  “The danger of another eruption and of a release of toxic gases made it impossible to bring most of them [dead or injured hikers] down and confirm their deaths.”

He posits: “The volcano . . . has erupted before, most recently in 1991. There had been weeks of minor earthquakes leading up to the larger eruption on Saturday, but nothing seismologists interpreted as warning that major event was on the way.”

In her Washington Post story, Anna Fifield adds: “More than 500 police, firefighters and military personnel were involved in a rescue operation on the mountain Sunday, bringing down some climbers on stretchers and in helicopters.”

As usual, The Extinction Protocol and Reuters News Service had the most extensive coverage of this disaster: “Police said more than 250 hikers were stranded on the mountain, which is 3,067 meters high and last erupted in 2007.

They quote Prime Minister Abe: “Nearly 200 people are in the process of descending the mountain, but we are still trying to figure out details. I instructed to do all we can to rescue the people affected and secure the safety of the trekkers, . .”

So I’m right on time. Other reporters don’t really know the ‘facts’ either. Because Japan has laws that someone is not dead unless a doctor says so, the exact number of the fallen among 250 hikers is unknown, along with numbers of injured.

Because Japan does its best to suppress all but ‘good news,’ news reporters are promised: 1) This eruption does not interfere with WireAP_5eb7b43cb3424c67bde970aaae27ecc7_16x9_992air traffic; 2) The public will know the fate of 200 other hikers stranded on the erupting mountain, the number of others injured and of those hundreds of rescuers also covered with still imploding ash; and 3) Reporters will surely find out just how often this volcano goes whacky.

Why do people continually bet against Nature, assuming that it will stay in-tack for their convenience?  Why do scientists think that natural phenomenon will always give them ‘proper’ notice before “acting our of turn”?

The only thing that Nature demands is that it must always be respected! Hmm that sounds like a starting principle of how God is to be approached as well.  He is always to be respected! Hmm again. Maybe God, through Nature, is telling man again: “These are the last days of man on earth. Nothing is historically safe.”

As a wholesale Christian sweatshirt promises:  “The eternal God is Thy Refuge, and underneath are The Everlasting Arms (Deuteronomy 33; 27).” Volcanos, earthquakes, fires or floods are not predictable, but God always is! He keeps His Word.  He does exactly what He says He will do!  Take heed!

Are Foxes Still Guarding the Hen House? Unsafe Foods in the U.S.

posted by Frank Butterman Food Inspector @ 18:05 PM
August 26, 2014

Foods_associated_with_Salmonella_outbreaks_in_US    Not much good news on the food front!  Some almond and peanut butters have salmonella. The same bacteria swarms in some fresh vegetables, but officials still don’t know which or where. And meat and fish prices continue to soar.

According to Schuyler Velasco, a massive recall of peanut and almond butter products is now underway in the U.S. Produced by nSpired Natural Foods, these ‘butter’ items are pulled off shelves in Whole Foods, Kroger, Safeway, etc.

Associated Press (AP) adds that at least four people have taken ill eating MaraNatha and Arrowhead Mills peanut and almond butters, as well as products from the same types of companies issued under store-brand names.

As Ruth Reichl points out in ‘The F.D.A.’s Blatant Failure on Food’: Every year, antibiotic-resistant infections kill at least 23,000 Americans and make another two million sick, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.” Thus, a recent ruling by the U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals is so appalling.

“It allows the federal Food and Drug Administration [F.D.A.] to leave an antibiotic used in animal feed on the hqdefaultmarket even if the agency openly states that the drug’s use is not safe and increases the risk of antibiotic resistance in people.  This means that the dangerous misuse of antibiotics in industrial livestock and poultry can continue unabated.” Thus such dangerous resistance passes to people.

The antibiotics allow meat industries to fatten animals quickly while storing them in unsanitary conditions.  But these questionable additives increase antibiotic-resistant bacteria within the animals.  FDA simply warns the industry of possible harm to people; that agency, established to protect, people does nothing about it.

These practices, she points out, produce ‘superbugs’ such as found in salmonella in Foster Farms chickens that sickened some 600 people. ‘Superbugs’ get into water and soil and can bring “life-threatening” infections. says––in addition to soaring prices of beef and pork––avoid eating shrimp: “A devastating bacterial disease called ‘early mortality syndrome’ is crippling the shrimping industry all over Asia right now. Supposedly the disease, which kills 90% of infected shrimp in Asia, has no affect on people who eat the 10% left. Do you believe that?

Besides Clarissa A. Leon in ‘5 Ways to Avoid Seafood’s Dirty Secrets’––along with Jane Brody from The New York Times, and U.K.––claim much of the surviving shrimp is farmed by slave labor. Ugh.

Brody adds “ . . .shrimp farmers simply move on, destroying more miles of mangrove . . . wrecking habitats for . . . wildlife. . .” Paul Greenberg, of ‘American Catch: The Fight for Our Local Seafood,‘ says U.S. needs more fish farms.

So read food advisories, wash all foods, cooking them thoroughly and above all pray over your meals.  As wholesale Christian Bibles say read your Bible and pray every day: “Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food (Job 23: 12).”

Continuous Spread of New & Old Diseases: Plus 4th MERS in U.S.

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 15:43 PM
May 14, 2014

Mers-containment    No new news today on 3rd and 4th MERS victims––hospital workers in the Florida facility treating the second carrier from Saudi Arabia. However, the CDC is posting advisories at 20 U.S. airports to warn travelers about the MERS virus.

That warning reads:  “If you are traveling to countries in or near the Arabian Peninsula, CDC recommends that you pay attention to your health during and after your trip. You should call a doctor right away if you develop fever and symptoms of lower respiratory illness, such as cough or shortness of breath, within 14 days after traveling from countries in or near the Arabian Peninsula.”

No. 5 on that ‘old’ list of 13 diseases now spreading around the world is about great increases of Hepatitis C in most countries. Raymond T. Chung and Thomas F. Baumert report in New England Journal of Medicine:

“Chronic Hepatitis C is a major cause of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide. . . about 3% of the world’s population, are chronically infected with the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). [It] is often diagnosed at a late stage (in high-income countries) or seldom diagnosed at all (in low- or middle-income countries). . . reinfection remains possible even after successful curative therapy.”

Philippe Douste-Blazy of advises that many of the 180 people invested with this disease yearly now protest potential high costs of treatment medications. Many of the victims have experience with such protests.

New drugs, more effective than the present injection-tablet year-long treatments, can cost up to $ 84,000 for a hepatitis-c-risk-factors12-week dosage. Many Hepatitis C patients also have HIV.  HIV patients, now living longer because drug costs were lowered after protests, today face Hepatitis C a major cause of death among them.

Philippe Douste-Blazy writes:  “Manufacturers of new Hepatitis C medicines are likely to offer the poorest countries a less expensive version.  But pharmaceutical firms will not offer discounts to middle-income countries they regard as emerging markets, where about 75% of people with hepatitis C live.”

What these doctors and journalists infer politely is that Hepatitis C is often transmitted through sexual contact.  Because of such possible contamination, God advised Old Testament Jews, both male and female, to be celibate before marriage.

Moreover, He warned Jewish tribes not to inter-marry with other tribes, because witchcraft and idolatry always involve illicit sexual––even animalized (Hepatitis first discovered among chimpanzees in 1989)––activity.  That commandment was not lessened for New Testament believers.

In God’s kingdom, the social construction of reality is far different from the world’s. It includes spiritual, as well as physical, visions of realities (i.e. as seeing through a greater microscope): “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13: 4).”

For those to whom the second part of the verse may apply, remember that His kingdom also includes great realms of mercy, and those mercies come through the sacrifice of His Son, Who cries out loudly today: “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11: 28).”

Remember, there is no sin, no plague, no evil inventions that can attack with more power than that of the Blood of Jesus:  “And they overcame him by the Blood of The Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12: 11).” So, in addition to doctors, look to Jesus for His healing of your every need.

Continuous Spread of New & Old Diseases: Plus 2nd MERS in U.S.

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 9:00 AM
May 12, 2014

What-is-MERS-Virus        No. 5 on that ‘old’ list of spreading diseases is about great increases of Hepatitis C in most countries.  However, the problem with ‘aged’ list is that they keep growing.  So we should add to the list: 11) Unexpected rises in polio; 12) Mystery illness called CKDu; and 13) A new MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) superbug.  But first, yes, the U.S. has another MERS case!

While the first MERS patient is now released from the Munster, Indiana, hospital (although hospital workers stay home in isolation until 14 days are ended), and is said to be doing fine, a second carrier has been found in Florida.

ABC News reports “Health officials did not immediately release additional detail about his travels or his week in Florida, except to say he was not at any theme parks and remained in the Orlando area to see family.” He is at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in Orlando.

Health officials now attempt to “contact as many as 500 people who were on the three flights within the United States to let them know the situation and watch for symptoms.” Others he has had close contact with in the U.S. are also being tested. People on the flight from Jeddah to London also will be contacted.

CNN News adds: “The Florida patient traveled on May 1 from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to London, then from London to Boston; Boston to Atlanta; and Atlanta to Orlando.” While he is also a hospital worker in Saudi Arabia, there is apparently no connection between the two cases.

Dr. Tom Frieden, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) explains that most people infected caught the disease while caring for those with MERS either at home or in health care. Frieden stressed the need for infection control, rapid detection and needed isolation in hospitals, according to Fox News.

Dr. Anne Schuchat, Assistant Surgeon General with the U.S. Public Health Service and Director of the CDC’s cannot-commute-virus-to-othersNational Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, insists the: “risk to the general public remains very low.

“This virus has not shown the ability to spread easily from person to person in community settings.” She says the person felt sick when first leaving Jeddah, and continued on with fever, chills and coughing. But he did not report to the hospital until May 8. Now that the disease is in the U.S., CDC sent a team to Saudi Arabia to further investigate this dangerous outbreak.

She further told CNN that according to the World Health Organization (WHO):  “As of Friday, there have been 538 cases in 27 countries, including 145 deaths.” MERS first emerged in 2011, but was only diagnosed on the Arabian Peninsula in 2012.  There are still no travel restrictions from that area.

As stated in earlier posts, waves of new and old diseases now wash over the world. Readers who think they may have contracted one of these difficult-to-cure illnesses––in addition to medical assistance––should be in a church, or at least among a group of individuals, where people understand strong praying warfare.

According to Christian messages, during His earthly ministry, The LORD Jesus Christ connected some diseases with demonic activities:  “And He healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew Him (Mark 1: 34).”

Only spiritually mature Christians know what to do in such cases. During these days of raging sickness and death, it is not the time for Sunday-only, short-prayer, generally weak Christians.  It is time for grown and growing, mature faith!

Now Rising Polio: Continuous Spread of New & Old Diseases, Part 4

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 18:28 PM
May 7, 2014

Polio_sequelle    International health organizations have issued world-wide alarms about the disturbing rise of polio in at least 10 countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.  The greatest risk is from adult travelers carrying contamination to children.

The World Health Organization (WHO) determines that even in the present ‘low transmission season’ an international increase of wild poliovirus is spreading from “3 of the 10 ‘high risk’ States that are currently infected: in central Asia (from Pakistan to Afghanistan), in the Middle East (Syrian Arab Republic to Iraq) and in Central Africa (Cameroon to Equatorial Guinea).”

WHO recommends that those traveling from those countries be certified they have received polio vaccinations. The Associated Press says this is most extreme action:  “WHO has never before issued an international alert on polio.”

WHO defines polio or poliomyelitis as: “A highly infectious viral disease, which mainly affects young children. The virus is transmitted through contaminated food and water, and multiplies in the intestine, from where it can invade the nervous system. Many infected people have no symptoms, but do excrete the virus in their feces, hence transmitting infection to others.

“Initial symptoms of polio include fever, fatigue, headache, vomiting, stiffness in the neck, and pain in the limbs. In a small proportion of cases, the disease causes paralysis, which is often permanent. Polio can only only be prevented Afghan Health Workers Give Polio Vaccineby immunization.”

Syria, Nigeria and Afghanistan are examples of Bible teachings about the relationship between battlefields and the spreading of pestilence/diseases. In ‘Polio in Syria: An Outbreak that Threatens the Middle East,’ Tim Whewell reveals polio is now endemic in those countries:

“The Syrian government says it has continued to vaccinate across the country during the conflict––a claim disputed by many Syrian doctors and foreign health experts. They believe the regime withheld vaccine from clinics in the rebel-held north as another means of waging war on civilians.”

Whewell says the coming hot summer risks a spread of polio “across the Middle East from Syria––where now more than 100 children show symptoms of the disease.” He explains “The polio virus lives in water, contaminated food and sewage.” In poorest Syrian neighbors, raw sewage mixes with drinking water.

Further, in ‘World Facing Polio Health Emergency,’ the BBC writes:  “Refugees are still pouring out of Syria, to Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, and checking whether all of them have been vaccinated will be impossible. Hence, the disease will spread to these countries as well.

“Polio mainly affects children under five years old. The virus is transmitted through contaminated food and water, and multiplies in the intestine. It can then invade the nervous system, causing paralysis in one in every 200 infections. It is capable of causing death within hours.”

Does anyone remember the adage from Bible messages: “What mean ye, that ye use this proverb . . . saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge? (Ezekiel 18: 2)” More than a horror that five year old children must be sickened unto death, because certain evil ‘fathers’ insist that war is worth the destruction of clean water. Only prayer can stop such carnage!

MERS: The Continuous Spread of New & Old Diseases, Part 2

posted by Dr. Ad Versery Bored @ 7:00 AM
May 3, 2014

spread-of-Mers        Before advancing with the list of “problems on the horizon of the medical world,” unfortunately it must be noted: the U. S. has its first MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) case. Lenny Bernstein and Lena Sun of the Washington Post broke the news about this potentially deadly Betacoronavirus today:

“The first confirmed case of a deadly virus from the Middle East has surfaced in the United States, brought here from Saudi Arabia by an unnamed health-care provider who is hospitalized in Indiana for treatment of the respiratory ailment.” And through bus and air travels he may well have spread it around.

Anne Schuchat, Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases for the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), says: “The victim, identified as a male by a person with knowledge of the situation,
traveled from Riyadh to London on April 24 and then on to Chicago . . . then took a bus to a location in Indiana that authorities declined to disclose.”

Schuchat adds that health officials are checking people who may have had contacted with him in London, on the plane to the States, and later on the bus.  She insists MERS “does not appear to be easily transmittable and that it represents a very low risk to the broader general public.”

Yet she admits “authorities don’t know exactly how the virus spreads.”  Symptoms such as shortness of breath, coughing and fever appear about five days after initial infection.  Again, those suspecting they may just have the flu, should consult with their doctors or hospital.

The MERS Coronavirus is now found in 14 countries––Malaysia, the Philippines, Oman, U.A.E., Qatar, Kuwait, Greece, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia––and the U.S. makes 15. It has advanced to infect thousands after being discovered by an Egyptian virologist in 2012.

As mentioned in the last blog, MERS is deadly for three out of 10 people who contract it, especially so for the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions.  There is no known treatment or vaccine, or other cure. And it is spreading.

There is no time for such experimentation. Now is time for action. Dr.  Ian MacKay, at the Australia Infectious Diseases Research Centre at The University of Queensland, sounds warning about where MERS might be headed:

“Over the last 30 days, MERS cases in Saudi Arabia have exploded from just 1-3 per day to over 10 per day, Mers-spreading-Saudi-Arabiashowing a worrisome trend. MERS is a particularly nasty disease for those who already have a disease that is chronic [including] diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, hypertension, lung disease, obesity, malignancy and those who smoke or use steroids.”

People must be cautious: washing hands often, perhaps wearing facial protections out in public, and avoiding others with flu-like symptoms.  And it may well be time to petition the government to stop flights to the U.S. from known-infected countries.  World-wide travel does nothing but spread this sickness.

The world has entered a stage of diseases far outpacing experimental medicines or the medical personnel to treat them.  It is incumbent upon Christians to ask God to endow new ministries of healings.  As Bible messages promise:

“And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived (Numbers 21: 9).” “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son of Man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3: 14 – 15).”

Such Cynicism: Why This Crew Decided Not to Celebrate Earth Day!

posted by Sarah N Worthy IATTWJ Member @ 9:00 AM
April 24, 2014

Earth-Day-2014        Hooray It’s Earth Day.  So get a free coffee, or a ‘volunteer-for-a- day’ poster, while driving a car emitting carbon gas, on roads where state officials allow burning coal, fracked oil, or ‘safe’ nuclear power for energy, going pass rivers polluted with dark patches of goo and waste, etc.  Wow! Its a day to feel good.

Year after year, this site blogged about where readers could get ‘free’ stuff, games, and meaningless tokens encouraging readers to support Mother Earth by celebrating Earth Day. In reality the slog of researching activities in various cities for this ‘holiday’ did little to fight Global Warming or educate the public about it.

And all of this goes in a country finishing first or second each year in carbon emissions destroying the earth where earnest capitalists argue infinitum that Global Warming is a myth, and where political leaders either ignore its problems, claim it costs jobs, is too expensive to fix, or obey those spending billions to lie about it.

Bloggers here took a vote and unanimously said ‘No More’!  The truth hurts, and the truth about Global Warming must arouse action. The subject is not about fun. It means eventual death to millions, to poor nations and to this planet.

Hmm.  And apparently hundreds of other bloggers agree! Jason Mark asks ‘Has Earth Day Lost Its Way?‘ He is sad to remember the first Earth Day:  “On April 22, 1970 20 million Americans in cities and towns turned out for day of action to express their desire for a society that would live more conscientiously with this planet. People picked up trash on beaches and in streams, planted gardens, organized and attended environmental teach-ins, marched and sang.”

Now in the environmental news business, he admits “Earth Day has become diminished, has lost some of its original spirit somewhere along the way. . . the corporate co-optation of Earth Day . . . reveals that caring about the environment, if only for a day, has gone mainstream.” In short, there is no real commitment!

Anastasia Swearingen of posits:  “This Earth Day, a host of organizations and companies are urging you to ‘go green’ . . . but what does being ‘green’ really mean? Unfortunately . . . many ostensibly ‘green’ products . . . are little more than glitzy marketing campaigns.

“Earth Day offers a great opportunity to make real lifestyle changes to reduce your environmental impact. Ride Earth-Day-Reduce-Reuseyour bike to work, plant a tree or do some composting. But simply renting a LEED-certified apartment or purchasing GMO-free groceries are feel-good steps that make virtually no difference.”

Chloe S. Maxmin tells the Harvard Crimson:  “I am a committed environmental activist, and I think Earth Day is the bane of the environmental movement . . . Americans officially devote only twenty-four hours to being green deliberately. Too many people believe that celebrating Earth Day can exempt them from further action. This is absurd, and it’s damaging the environmental cause.”

Admittedly, some Earth Day critics, denying that fossil fuels harm the planet, disagree with anti-Global Warming advocates. These critics prefer to ignore the planet’s problems. Rather they obfuscate them by trivializing Earth Day with cotton candy, profit-making t-shirts, and other ‘sales’ of environmental items.

But doing more than free coffee and games means helping poorer nations more deeply affected by Global Warming. Aggressive movements against melting glaciers, rising seas, and hotter temperatures must begin.  Otherwise Earth Day becomes a symbol of confusion, allowing people to pretend love for Mother Earth, while sacrificing nothing to protect it.  And, as wholesale Christian Bibles teach:  “God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14: 33).”

Ebola Virus Epidemic Spreading Beyond West Africa to Europe

posted by Jael Ever @ 9:00 AM
April 23, 2014

ebola-virus-outbreak    Apparently world health experts have become so alarmed at the rapid spread of Ebola Virus in West Africa and beyond––possibly even to Europe––that they now refuse to make victim statistics public.

Six days ago, Michael Smith of MedPage Today claimed: “The report comes as the WHO is reporting that the outbreak now includes 202 suspected or confirmed cases — 168 in Guinea, 28 in Liberia, and six in Mali. There have been 121 deaths.”  Other reporters claim the virus has also struck four other countries. writes:  “A Reuters report on the Ebola outbreak claims that death toll statistics will no longer be released to the public to “avoid causing unnecessary panic. . . The [outbreak] may have spread to Europe despite pandemic containment efforts. WHO Health officials have been working diligently to contain the Ebola outbreak to West Africa, but their efforts may have failed.”

In ‘Ebola Virus Spreading Rapidly in West Africa’ Brad Johnson defines the disease: “Ebola (pronounced eh-boh-la) is a type of hemorrhagic fever, distinctive by the fact that it is a group of viruses that affect numerous organs and systems within the body. [It] is usually accompanied by internal and even external bleeding.

“Currently there is no vaccination for it. [It kills] about 90 percent of those it infects.  The World Health ebola-outbreak-deathOrganization (WHO) has reported that there are five different strains of the virus, . . . Currently, only three of the five strains have been identified as pervasive within the West Africa outbreak.”

Press releases indicate this dread disease came to Europe. The Inquisitr post says:  “Approximately four dozen migrant workers from the outbreak area came ashore, allegedly illegally, in Pisa, Italy. The workers are reportedly being isolated with symptom commonly associated with the Ebola virus. The migrant workers have reportedly presented with conjunctivitis, blood around the eye, and fever.”

Pauline Bax, Sadibou Marone and Ougna Camara point out in ‘Ebola Outbreak Empties Hotels as West Africa Borders Closed’ that fear of Ebola has cancelled 80% of hotel reservations, and that this is the worst Ebola outbreak in seven years.  They estimate it has killed 111 people in Guinea and Liberia.

Various nations reacted in horror:  Senegal has shut its borders.  The Ivory Coast bars buses from Liberia and Guinea. A Brazilian iron ore producer sent its workers from Guinea back home.  Bax et al add:  “Regional trade is at risk of grinding to a halt . . .“Inadequate health care and a shortage of doctors make fighting the disease more difficult.” Doctors Without Borders try to augment staffs.

Smith also reveals that this current Ebola strain is only 97% identical to strains of several years ago from East Africa. Other analysts suggests the virus was transferred from animals traveling from one side of the continent to another. It began this time with a two-year old catching the disease and family members treating her caught it as well.  Tragically, they all died.

This outbreak is one of many plagues circling earth in these last days.  Believers must learn to stand against such diseases with covering of the Blood of Jesus, the Anointing of The Holy Spirit and The Word of God.

As Bible messages promise: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. . . say of The LORD, He is my Refuge and my Fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. . .There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling (Psalms 91: 1 – 3, 10).

Happy Easter From the Whole Gang! God Bless!

posted by The Whole Gang @ 10:26 AM
April 20, 2014

Easter-Sunday-Christ-Is-Risen-2014Rev. Dr. Repriestly: Hi gang Jael wants us to wish one and all A Very Happy Easter Day! So tell us your plans for the summer and remember to keep it short!

Feermeno: I’m still in China.  Jael says not to mention the Chinese build up in arms against Japan over those stupid island, or their dreadful anger against     Malaysia for that ‘lost’ airplane, or Japan’s continuous nuclear spill crises.     So I won’t cause we’re suppose to be talking about Happy Easter!

Jim Seerfar:  She still has me working on diseases in space, the extraordinarily hidden NASA space budget, failures of space spy satellites attempts to provide information about Russia’s aggression in Ukraine in place of human spy networks.  Cecil is working with me too. So we both say, Happy Easter!

Cecil Certifier: Yes I join Jim in wishing all earth-end blog readers A Very Eventful Easter. Jim and I have joint assignments on Russia’s cracking of Ukraine’s communication system, and how the CIA is helping them to fix it.

Butterman: Well look for more posts from me on tainted meats and vegetables     coming to U.S. stores this summer.  USDA seems to have solved the     cantaloupe, lettuce and other food problems. But remember, the U.S. imports     meats from China. I’m working with Feermeno and Dr. Bored on that. So Have A Blessed Easter!

Dr. Dr. Ad Versery Bored: Malekee and I are headed for  Guinea in West Africa to check on the Ebola Virus outbreak there.  Over 100 are infected and it is     spreading to other countries.  So pray for us at that Easter altar.

Ida B. Wells, IV.  Pray for me too. Jael has me writing a series of blogs on mafia     thugs ruling in Russia, Ukraine, other former Soviet nations and Europe too.

John J. Jr.: While you guys have positive assignments.  I’m still stuck with trying     to keep these kids in line. Since Feermemo left, her little sister stirs up the crowd about the scant space Jael gives on animal issues. I hope Jael’s book––Betrayal of Stewardship: Extinctions, Declines, & Endless Attacks: God’s Prophecies About His Animal Species––comes out soon. It may quiet them.

Sarah Newsworthy and Wendy Weathersbee:  From all of us watching Global     Warming, Threatening Weather and their many results:  Happy Easter!

Rev. Dr. Repriestly:  Don’t forget to pray about the situation in Ukraine today, for Ukraine, other post-Soviet nations, High_Altar_Smoke_Westthe U.S. President, Secretary of State,     and all the cabinet as they negotiate with Russia to end this beginning of World War III.

Also pray for Taryn at, our web adviser.  Like us, her     company has disagreeing enemies.  May God bless them to overcome because of their support on our behalf.

As Bible messages emphasize, The LORD Jesus suffered much persecution     and so will we:  “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’     sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5: 20).”

Ukraine & EU: Corruption/Mafia Crises Harm Nations’ Economies

posted by Ida B. Wells IV @ 9:00 AM
April 17, 2014

Mafie-Europe        One of the reasons most Ukraine citizens wanted to move closer to the European Union and move away from Russia is because people in other post-Soviet nations are doing much better economically than they are.

But now it is more obvious that their nation is hamstrung by ties to Russia’s mafia; also that Mafia gangs affect the European Union. Germany is infiltrated by Italy’s mafia, which has profound affect on the slow growth of the EU’s economy.

Jorg Diehl reveals in ‘“I Will Tear His Head Off”: How the Italian Mafia Is Infiltrating Germany’:  “A trial . . . in Cologne showcases the extent of the Italian Mob’s infiltration of German society and the construction business.” That trial gives police insight into two Mafia groups in Western Germany.

Investigators say Gabriel S., who threatened someone’s head, “ran a network of shell companies and helped cheat the state and the social security benefits office of many millions of euros.”  Michael Day adds:  “Ndrangheta mafia family makes more money than McDonald’s and Deutsche Bank combined,” a report claims.

Diehl writes further:  “The dimensions of this form of sham business––using so-called proforma invoices––are considerable. According to investigators’ estimates, this activity costs the state around €1.5 billion ($1.2 billion) in lost taxes and approximately €2 billion in unpaid social security contributions. The labor union Ver.di pegs the annual damages at approximately €10 billion.”

“German prosecutors generally don’t seem to be well positioned for the fight against the Mafia. . .the Federal Criminal Police Office criticized the German state for rarely sniffing out the Mafiosos’ ill-begotten earnings.”  This might explain “why the Italian criminals feel so comfortable in Germany. According to [police] overview, at least 460 suspected members of the Mafia live in Germany.”

In her exhaustive study of Ukraine’s economy, ‘Organized Crime and Corruption in Ukraine: Impediments to the Development of a Free Market Economy,’ Louise I. Shelley of American University avers:

“Organized crime and endemic corruption threaten the stability of Ukraine and undermine its transition to a money-launderingmarket economy. The indigenous crime problem of Ukraine is significant, but the problems are exacerbated by the criminalization of the Russian state and most of the successor states of the former USSR. . . . the proximity of Ukraine to both Western Europe and the Caucasus makes those countries important transit points for diverse criminal activity.”

Jamie Dettmer argues “Organized crime helped Putin grab Crimea, and may open the way for him to take more of Russian-speaking Ukraine.”  He quotes a prosecutor:  “ . . . local hoodlums are operating among the pro-Russian protests in the restive eastern Ukraine, helping to direct them on the instructions of Kremlin-linked organized crime groups. . . . specifically at the Seilem mob, which has been closely tied over the years to ousted Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych.”

Rising from criminal gangs to political leadership led to World War II. Hitler and Mussolini led thug gangs until criminality put them into national prominence.  Christian messages emphasize only prayer can combat evil: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty (1 Timothy 2: 1-2).”
