The time for Christian ‘fence-sitting’ is over! The LORD is about to ‘up-chuck’ those who only call themselves Christians, sitting on their thumbs every now and then in churches, and doing little or nothing that He has asked them to do. Was this His command or just an ‘if you want to do it’ suggestion’: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16: 15)?” If you are truly ‘saved,’ that is ‘born again,’ and really expect to go to heaven, please answer this question: “What are you doing to support the Gospel of The LORD Jesus Christ?”
No, going to church in fancy clothes does not really support His Gospel. Nor does just paying a few non-sacrificial gifts and offerings. Moreover, how does the money you put into the coffers go into an effort to get God’s message out to all the world? You say, but that’s the preacher’s job! Really? Do you have Scripture for that belief? And do you know if the funds you donate do more than just pay church bills and pastors salaries?
Most important, what are you personally doing to get the The LORD’s message out to all the world, to every tribe, and to every nation? Those of Jehovah Witness faith go door to door, city to city to spread their inaccurate lies that The LORD Jesus is not God Almighty. Mormon young men fly from nation to nation passing out literature that doesn’t promote The LORD’s only requirement for salvation—“Ye must be born again” John 3: 7!
So as a “born again” Christian what do you accomplish for your Savior? Who are you witnessing to? Better yet—who are you praying for? Is your family praying together at least once a week? No? Then are you interceding for those absent family members during your daily prayers? Do you have a prayer list of people you do pray for as often as possible? Do you witness to them, telling them about The LORD’s blessings in store for them?
And what about on at your place of employment? Do you witness for The LORD there, or do you hide your Christianity so you can ‘fit in’? Better yet, how many radio and T.V. ministries going out into all the world attempting to spread God’s eternal love–so evident when He gave His Only Son to die for all mankind–do you support?
In short, what are you doing to show yourself “hot” for The LORD Jesus Christ? If you cannot answer in the affirmative that you truly are “hot,” then what do you think The LORD means in these verses from The Book of Revelations: “And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (3: 14 – 20).”
Listen, we are living in the last days of mankind’s time on earth, in the age when World War III has already started. If you don’t believe that either, ask ISIS members who are working hard to bring more of their murderous revolution to the shores of your nation. If ever you plan to be a serious Christian, now is the time. Once caught in The LORD’s “upchuck” of false or weak believers, wholesale Christian Bibles do not point to any way back into His body!
Contrasting examples of families judged for good or ill is in the Book of First Samuel. Before he was born, although she was not in an ideal family situation, Samuel’s mother, Hannah, prayed continuously that God would give her a son, so that she could branch out in a family of her own. After years of faithful intercession, Hannah made a bargain with God:
“And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head (1 Samuel 1: 11).”
She thereby dedicated her son into God’s service for all of his life. After she had weaned her son, when Samuel, was just a toddler, Hannah took him to the temple and turned Samuel over to the high priest Eli, who would train the boy for the priesthood, through which Samuel would serve God with strength and truth.
Now, although Eli was charged with praying ceaselessly for his nation, Eli failed God’s requirements for a father, and his sons’ failed likewise to be faithful men or faithful priests. By the time Samuel (whose mother visited him every year with clothes and treats) was of age to become the high priest as Eli had trained him, Eli and his extremely sinful sons, along with their wives, perished in one day.
Further, The LORD Jesus makes clear that in addition to families, whole cities could go down together into hellish judgment: “Then began He to upbraid the cities wherein most of His mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee (Matthew 11: 20-24).”
Moreover, the Bible repeatedly states that whole nations will be judged along with the people within them. King David writes: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God (Psalm 9: 17).”
And The LORD Jesus states without equivocation: “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
“Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal (Matthew 25: 31-46).”
Question: Do readers know where their families, city or country stand with God? Then perhaps it is time to begin earnest prayer for those in each one of these categories.
After all, wholesale Christian Bibles promise: “Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee (2 Chronicles 6: 19).” And Apostle James adds: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5: 16b).”
The field of economic, like most academic disciples has its pros and cons on all subjects. One of the most hotly debated issues is the economic health of this country. As the stock market struggles to maintain its soaring heights, others point to the nation’s shrinking middle class and its swelling impoverished ranks.
However, economists around the world point out that 50% of the world’s wealth is controlled by 1% of the population, and in the U.S. as elsewhere the situation may be getting worse not better.
For instance, retailers expected shoppers to rush into stores after that recent horrible winter was over, but it didn’t happen. And some stores just can no longer wait for things to turn. As theeconomiccollapseblog.com points out:
“The reason is that American consumers typically do not voluntarily pull back like that on spending, but do so because they have run out of credit. And if credit is running thin it will surely be felt in all spending.
“The truth is that middle class U.S. consumers are tapped out. Most families are just scraping by financially from month to month. For most Americans, there simply is not a whole lot of extra money left over to go shopping with these days.”
Also pointing to some 6,000 major U.S. retail stores closing in 2015 and coming years that blogger asks: “If retailers are closing this many stores already, what are our malls and shopping centers going to look like a few years from now?” Included in his lists are some stores owns by: Sears, Abercrombie & Fitch, Barnes & Noble, Chico’s, Coach, J.C. Penney, Macy’s, Target, Walgreens, etc.
In ‘Guess What’s Destroying the Middle Class?,’ Noah Smith posits: “Perhaps the biggest question in American political economy right now is why middle-class wages have been falling. There are three main hypotheses. Roughly, these are: Robots, unions and China.”
While some would add internet shopping to that list, in truth Smith argues that the greatest enemy of America’s middle class is China: “ . . . there is a growing body of research showing that globalization––and, in particular, the rise of China––has been the biggest factor hollowing out the American middle class.”
Larry Elliott and Ed Pilkington of theguardian.com write in ‘New Oxfam report that half of global wealth held by the 1%’ that “Billionaires and politicians met in Davos Switzerland earlier this year in the World Economic Forum . . . Oxfam said the wealth of the richest 80 doubled in cash terms between 2009 and 2014, and that there was an increasing tendency for wealth to be inherited and to be used as a lobbying tool by the rich to further their own interests.”
While Oxfam cannot state the obvious because it hopes to collect funds,
the truth is that attendees and sponsors of ‘secret’ meetings like those in Davos have planned for such economic disparity for years. They further plan that those in lower classes will soon become further enslaved to them or die off by the billions.
Such are these last days of which Apostle John writes in the Book of Revelation: “And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice . . . say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; . . . And . . . behold a pale horse: and his name . . . was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth (6: 5 – 8).”
Across the country, weather experts go through verbal gymnastics to deny the effects of a Polar Vortex as unreasonably below-zero freezing temperatures grip most of the United States this week, and is expected to continue for several days.
For instance, Don Babwin decries in ‘National Weather Service: Stop Calling It A ‘Polar Vortex’:’ “The phrase [Polar Vortex] took on a life of its own last year, and it was blamed for everything from ice storms to the inability of the New York Giants to score touchdowns. But the National Weather Service is skittish about going anywhere near the phrase that starts with ‘p’ and ends with ‘x.’ ”
Michael Musher with the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center chides: “We’ve been told to go around that term [i.e. Polar Vortex].” He explains the term is accurate because “. . . the cold air is coming from near the North Pole. But also no, because the low-pressure system isn’t going to sink into the U.S. this year, just the temperatures that precede it.”
Such skittishness is not just about that term, but also comes from attempts to deny that such unusually cold weather––even as much as minus 20 degrees with wind chill in even southeastern states––is the result of Global Warming.
Explications from The National Weather Service advising people for what those living in “hard freeze” areas should keep on hand––considering possibilities of power outages––include: “Flashlight and extra batteries; Battery-powered NOAA Weather Radio and portable radio to receive emergency information;
“Extra food and water such as dried fruit, nuts and granola bars, and other food requiring no cooking or refrigeration; Extra prescription medicine; Baby items such as diapers and formula;
“Emergency heat source: fireplace, wood stove, space heater, properly ventilated to prevent a fire; Fire extinguisher, smoke alarm; and Extra pet food and warm shelter for pets.” Now, why would 21st century citizens living in technologically savvy modern era need to prep are for such primitive conditions?
Of course, what such advice implies is that such arctic weather often precipitates power outages, which in turn suggests drastic changes will eventually be necessary in 21st century home-architecture models, including: necessary fire places or heating units not dependent on gas or electricity; large storage of foods not dependent on refrigeration; life not dependent on television, internet, radio, etc.
Whether one calls it Polar Vortex or Global Warming, the fact is that future survival demands lack of dependence upon what most Americans take for granted today, such as power lighting and heat, drivable roads, street night lights, etc.
Bible prophecies foretell that in these last days seasons would be drastically changed: “Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be The Name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His:
“And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with Him (Daniel 2: 19 – 22).” In these End Times, believers must depend more on Him and less on modern conveniences!
Attacks against the United States and around the globe have been launched in so many arenas it has been difficult to selectively prioritize the urgency of each, and to define each one’s significance in view of Bible prophecies.
These attacks seem unrelated, when in fact they all converge on one fact: this planet is in its last days. World War 3 has already begun. Nations face break up, by choice or by force––i.e. Scotland and England; Russia and Ukraine/Crimea.
Some of these attacks––i.e. Ebola in Africa and U.S. threatening to kill millions around the globe; American president organizes nations to move against ISIS in Iraq and Syria; Fastest rise of gas pollution on the planet this year; Global Warming killing half world’s bird population;strongest political division in U.S.;
Russia’s Putin threat to drop nuclear bombs; Economies sliding into recession and depression as in the E.U. and South America; Pseudo-citizens leaving nations to join ISIS’ 30,000 warriors; The sun hurling supernatural electronic charges towards earth; Persecution of Christians in the Middle East;
Rebuilding of NATO in preparation for war; scandals in U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention endangering thousands; seemingly unstoppable rise of criminal gangs in Latin America; many cities, such as Ferguson, Missouri, near explosion;
Enterovirus D68 forcing hospitalization of children in Midwest and South of the U.S.; the ignored origins of ISIS; massive flooding and unnaturally heavy rains and monsoons in Arizona, U.S. midwest , India and Pakistan;
Unprecedented volcano in Iceland; Newly unearthed dinosaurs and ancient pagan worship sites; never-before pagan-leaning world churches now-forming; Israel battling Hamas killing hundreds and destroying most of Palestine––Mainstream media details few of these events. Others only get sporadic mention.
Without publication of international blog posts, most of these events––and crucial depths of their meanings––would remain unknown. For instance, only Alvin Conway in ‘Utopia: The Collapse of Civilization is Underway’ writes ‘Russian Strategic Bombers Practice Nuclear Missile Strike Runs on U.S. Targets,’ and ‘U.S. Experts Warns Ukraine Joining NATO Will Lead to Nuclear War.’
Often bloggers have to wade through trivial manufactured stories about media, film and sports ‘stars’ to find some semblance of truth. Moreover, during such a crucial time, vacations and home emergencies this summer have minimized time available for researchers, reporters and editors at this blog site.
However, most discouraging is that vast majorities of Christians in the United States carry on ‘normal’ living as if ignorant that this convergence of signs means that Jesus Christ returns to Earth much sooner than they think!
Sadly, in these end of days, U.S. Christians fulfill the prophecy The LORD Jesus sent to Apostle John in Revelation 3: 14-22 of wholesale Christian Bibles : “. . . Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”
Health officials around the world are increasingly alarmed this week by the uncontrollable growth of Ebola virus cases spreading throughout West Africa. When the outbreak began in March, medical officials thought it was under control, but it has doubled back to become the biggest spread of Ebola since 1976.
Yesterday, guardian.com.uk reports: “Fifty new cases of Ebola and 25 deaths have been reported in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea since 3 July, as the deadly virus continues to spread in families, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
“In a statement, the UN agency said that the latest figures from health ministries in the three countries showed a total of 844 cases including 518 deaths in the epidemic that began in February.”
map.org. describes Ebola symptoms: “. . . this alarming disease appears with a serious fever and headache. The patients are exhausted all the time and vomit too much. Diarrhea and cough accompanied by bleeding are not seldom and 90% of infected persons die and currently 40% of dead people are health care workers.”
AP reporter, Sarah DiLorenzo, quotes senior officials from Doctors Without Borders that “Ebola in West Africa is totally out of control,” that it is in its second wave, and that more international organizations and governments must send in more health experts to combat the outbreak.
Because the disease is spreading to new areas in Guinea, Sierra Leona and Liberia, leaders from eleven West African countries and their ‘global health partners’ held emergency meetings in Accra, Ghana, to agree on “a basic strategy to battle the disease and agreeing on a list of challenges they need to tackle.”
In a statement after this meeting, WHO says: “ . . . between July 1 and 2, the three countries reported 21 more cases and 14 more deaths, pushing the outbreak total to 779 illnesses, including 481 deaths. Guinea reported 2 deaths, Liberia reported 8 cases and 10 deaths, and Sierra Leone reported 13 cases and 2 deaths.
Officials in various states disagree on the source of the illness. According to AFP News Service, this disease could be spread through what is known as ‘bush meat’: “Late in March, Health Minister Raymonde Goudou Coffie called for her compatriots to stop eating porcupines and agoutis, which look like large river-rats, ‘until we can be sure’ there are no risks.
“Bushmeat is known to be a vector of Ebola, the alarming hemorrhagic fever that has claimed at least 122 lives in Guinea, according to a UN World Health Organization toll on April 17 Liberia, meanwhile, reports 13 deaths.”
But a WHO spokesperson claims: “This means that the two main modes of transmission are home care, people who care for their relative at home, and during funerals, are still ongoing. If we don’t stop the transmission in the several hotspots in the three countries we will not be able to say that we control the outbreak.”
In ‘Deadly Ebola Virus Could Hit Britain,’ Jessica Haworth of the Daily Star writes: “It is feared passengers flying into Paris might carry the disease and could bring it to the UK if they travel on to London using the Eurostar.” She mentions Paris because most of the affect countries remain in French colonial spheres.
Ebola is just one of many diseases foretold in Bible prophecies that would hit earth in these last days: “And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed The Name of God, Which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give Him glory (Revelation 16: 9).” Yes, it is time for repentance!
These include: 1) More sprawling geographical areas resulting from human populations increasing by the billions; 2) Man’s continual digging into underground areas for oil research, fracking, industrial construction, etc.;
3) Underground holes forming in weakened areas creating hollow spaces unable to support ground above; 4) Failures of governments to limit growth in these areas and to make major repairs on bridges, retaining walls and other underground structures. As a result sink holes increase in number, size and severity.
According to Nature News “Bloomberg reports that fracking is a likely cause for a dramatic rise (sixfold) in earthquake activity from 2000 to 2011, not to mention contamination of the water and food supply. Extreme mining practices by Texas Brine and others are also responsible for triggering the sinkholes.”
In ‘Sinkholes: Should We Be Scared?,’ Kate Henderson argues: “Sinkholes in urban areas are more common after intense rainfall, as underground channels are eroded, especially if they have high limestone or other soft rock content, gypsum or salt. [After] caverns form, the hollow is too big . . . Then it implodes.”
She notes: “. . . in storm-battered Britain, a chasm that was twenty-foot deep and thirty-five feet wide appeared in the middle of a Hemel Hempstead housing estate . . . Carla Rance, had been worried when her front porch inexplicably sank six weeks ago. Her landlords had assured her all was fine. Today her next-door neighbor’s house hangs precariously over the drop. Assessors predict at least two of the homes will have to be demolished. They were only built six years ago.”
At the end of last month some dozen parked cars fell into a giant sinkhole in Baltimore, Maryland. On a quiet street with houses built as early as 1890, cars slid over a collapsing retaining wall and down into the hole onto a CSX railroad track.
Although no one was injured, one witness said “The building shock almost like the earthquake but not quite as bad. … I came out and the street was gone. Just like that!” Others in the area said the sinking hole movement took about 15 seconds, and sounded like a rather ordinary roar of thunder.
Just this month brucegarrett.com blogged explains that that huge sink hole in Baltimore is just another in a series of Global Warming disasters set up by deferred maintenance that hit the city recently: “… everyone who was here when the Howard Street tunnel caught fire in July 2001 knows what is going to happen now. People were complaining about the retaining wall that collapsed last Wednesday, years before this, and CSX kept telling them there was nothing to worry about.”
Americans should know that in Bible prophecies, sink holes are signs of God’s judgment: “But if The LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked The LORD. And it came to pass, . . . that the ground clave asunder that was under them: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods (Numbers 16: 1 – 32).”
Undoubtedly today or tomorrow the G-7 nations––consisting of the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States (i.e. seven of the wealthiest and most developed countries on earth)––will announce more economic sanctions against Russia for its failure to stop harassment in Ukraine.
Over the weekend, these leaders issued joint statements: “Given the urgency of securing the opportunity for a successful and peaceful democratic vote next month in Ukraine’s presidential elections, we have committed to act urgently to intensify targeted sanctions and measures to increase the costs of Russia’s actions.
“We have now agreed that we will move swiftly to impose additional sanctions on Russia,” the statement said. “Russia has taken no concrete actions in support of the Geneva Accords,” according to Sneba Shankar of IB Times.
“It has not publicly supported the accord, nor condemned the acts of pro-separatists seeking to destabilize Ukraine, nor called on armed militants to leave peacefully the government buildings they’ve occupied, and put down their arms. Instead, it has continued to escalate tensions by increasingly concerning rhetoric and ongoing threatening military maneuvers on Ukraine’s border.”
Juliet Eilperin of the Washington Posts adds that the G-7 statement also condemned Russia’s takeover of Crimea: “We have now agreed that we will move swiftly to impose additional sanctions on Russia. Given the urgency of securing the opportunity for a successful and peaceful democratic vote next month in Ukraine’s presidential elections, we have committed to act urgently to intensify targeted sanctions and measures to increase the costs of Russia’s actions.”
Eilperin adds that the G-7 will impose sanctions in a coordinated, but not identical fashion. She cites Ben Rhodes, the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor, who promised that if Russia does invade Ukraine, even deeper sanctions would follow “that will have an impact on international economies.”
Alison Smale and Danny Hakim reveal: “Russia and its allies in the European private sector are [campaigning] to ensure that they can maintain . . . longstanding ties even if the Kremlin orders further military action. . . Trade between the European Union and Russia amounted to almost $370 billion in 2012.
Just as in World War II, multi-national companies are in the thick of these negotiations. Rainer Seele, the chairman of Wintershall, a subsidiary of the German-based chemical company BASF, cries: “Neither in energy terms, nor politically, should we turn away from Russia . . . Sanctions will not help anybody, they would not just hurt Russia, but also Germany and Europe as a whole.”
Reuters quotes Russian President Putin self-righteous claims that sanctions “Overall they are harmful for everyone, they destroy the global economy (and) are ‘dishonourable’ on the part of those who use those types of tools.”
Note such thinking: business profits take precedent if Russia takes ‘military action,’ and Putin’s wails that sanctions harms everyone. But if he invades Ukraine, hundreds, even thousands, will die. Is that not harm? Yet business must go on? Bible prophecies condemn this: “. . .unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled (Titus 1: 15).”
Authentic statistics are hard to come by in Russia, but various reports indicate that the poverty rate there is high and rising, while other data more than suggests that President Putin is extraordinarily wealthy.
In 2012, Kenneth Rapoza of forbes.com claimed: “Moscow is home to more billionaires than New York City and London. . . [but] The number of Russians living in poverty rose another 1.1% last year to a total of around 13% of the population, or 18.1 million living below the national poverty line.
“Russia’s current minimum wage is about 4,600 roubles ($155) per month, while the minimum cost of living per capita is around 6,200 roubles ($210).” The next year, Maxim Bogodvid reveals in ‘Russian Parliament Leaves Minimum Wage Below Poverty Line‘ the leaders would not change the rate: “Russia’s current minimum wage of 5,205 rubles ($158) a month is 27 percent below the government’s own national average poverty threshold, set at 7,095 rubles ($215).”
Yet RIA Novosti reports, in ‘Putin Says Russia Should Solve Poverty Problem by 2020,’ that during his re-election campaign the famed President promised to end poverty in his country in six years. That some ten percent of Russians live below those minimum poverty lines “is unacceptable,” he said.
Yet the same year Paul Goble of windowoneurasia.com that one Russian in four lives in poverty, but it is far worse in rural areas where incomes are half of city dwellers (i.e. $ 55). But such numbers pale in comparison to Putin’s own wealth.
In ‘Putin the Peronist,’ Nina L. Khrushcheva writes: “. . . with oil and gas revenues flowing . . . Putin started to fill his own pockets. His personal wealth––including palaces, yachts, watches, and cars––has been estimated at $40-70 billion. Although he insists that his riches consist not of money and assets, but of the trust of his people, few Russians doubt that he is one of the world’s wealthiest men.”
Brian Warner asserts in ‘How Vladimir Putin Stashed Away A Secret $70 Billion Personal Fortune’: “ . . . experts agree that, without question, Putin has used his last decade of absolute power and wholehearted corruption to stash away a vast personal fortune estimated at more than $70 billion. A fortune that simply does not jibe with the humble, man-of-the-people, portrait Putin paints of himself.”
According to Wikipedia, Putin opponent, Boris Nemstov, lists 20 villas and palaces that Putin has: “a massive Italianate-style mansion costing an alleged USD 1 billion and dubbed Putin’s Palace’ is under construction near the Black Sea. The mansion, built on government land and sporting 3 helipads, a private road paid for from state funds and guarded by officials wearing uniforms of the official Kremlin guard service, is said to have been built for Putin’s private use.”
Moreover, Warner’s says Putin’s assets includes a $ 700,000 collection of 11 luxury watches. “He also has full access to a $40 million ultra-luxury yacht that features a wine cellar, Jacuzzi, helipad and outdoor barbecue area. Putin has access to 20 mansions throughout the world including a lavish ski lodge and Medieval castle. The crown jewel of his property portfolio is a $1 billion palace overlooking the Black Sea that he allegedly owns through an anonymous trust.”
Now he wants Crimea, Ukraine and whatever else he can take? If Christians don’t seek God’s help to stop this man, not only will he be held accountable, they may be too. Bible prophecies yell out his condemnation in James 5: 1 – 3:
“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.”
Other nations, and some states within the U.S., most damaged by Global Warming have done the least to prepare for its next ravaging waves. As SPX News Service advices, “World leaders are failing to adopt advanced early warning systems that could save millions of lives in disaster-prone regions.
“Technological breakthroughs mean that mobile phones can be used to alert millions of people to impending perils such as tsunamis and typhoons. But with a few notable exceptions, governments have been too slow to appreciate the life-saving potential of cheap and simple warning systems that could have eased the 3,600 death toll from the Philippines Haiyan typhoon.”
Even as Japan’s leaders concentrate on opening more nuclear power plants, Antoni Slodkowski of Reuters writes in: ‘Japan’s Quake Defenses Not Enough, Official Reports Warn’: “. . . two studies predicted much higher waves could hit and . . . quake damage [to nuclear plants] could be bigger than it was prepared for. . . . a quake as big as the one in 2011 could trigger waves topping 112 feet.”
However, a good example of preparedness for Global Warming in the U.S. is New York State. According to Ken Lovett of The Daily Politics, after Hurricane Sandy’s multiple disasters, Governor Cuomo and the State Legislature put systems in place to strengthen that area’s defenses against Global Warming.
First, they plan to plug all 540 openings in the subway system to prevent flooding in future storms. The governor says: “Subway tunnels and stairways will have sealing devices to hold back flood waters that wreaked havoc during Hurricane Sandy and caused a multi-day shutdown of the system.
“As part of a $ 5 billion upgrade, we’re going to fundamentally redesign of the subway system since it was created over 100 years ago. We’re going to retrofit the entire system, every facet of the system. . . . from train yards to the tunnels.
Moreover, officials there announced that New York City’s two major airports will be upgraded, and 100 bridges throughout the state will be repaired or replaced so they can withstand severe storms. The state received $ 16 billion in federal relief funds for some 1,000 projects state-wide to help recovery from Sandy.
Generators and gas reserves will enable gas stations to service customers if if tankers cannot get through flood waters. Electrical substations and some roadways will be elevated, and moveable storm walls built for coastal areas. Also, engineers will create ‘micro-grids’ in areas to supplement main power stations.
New York is purchasing 321 homes on Staten Island to create wetlands as buffers. The state’s weather detection system will be expanded. Some 100,000 people will be trained for a “citizens first responder corp;” and the state is creating a college exclusively to train for emergency preparedness and homeland security.
In contrast, a state like New Jersey, which received multi-millions in Sandy aide, has done little to prepare for the next major storm. The U.S. attorney is investigating claims of one city mayor who asked for funds to strengthen storm walls and was apparently turned down because she wouldn’t grant political favors.
Leaders of cities, states and nations are ‘fathers’ responsible for the safety their people.
